When is phase 2? More lay offs? More desks?

Got the RTO communication and this line stuck out:

“Seating is prioritized for employees first, with unassigned areas and seats an option for contractors on an as-available, first-come, first-served basis”

Read that carefully. They aren’t saying there’s plenty of room and contractors just get second pick. They’re saying contractors get whatever is left over on a first come first served basis. That’s not a seating policy, that’s a disclaimer. They already know there aren’t enough seats.

And FTE seating isn’t even assigned, it’s open within neighborhoods. So the “priority” is theoretical. A contractor walks in, sees an open desk, sits down. Nobody is checking IDs at the door.

The part nobody is talking about: are contractors even on a 5 day mandate? Because if FTEs are legally obligated to be there every day and contractors are not, you’ve got people who’ve worked there for years eating a full commute while embedded contractors log in from home.
This email answered nothing and accidentally raised three new questions.

Anyone else getting actual clarity from their managers?

I’m hearing another incident happened involving a desk takeover that occurred within the span of 30 minutes away from a desk.

Chill out folks. You’re not cops if someone’s speeding and not the desk ge----o at work.

Columbus TSYS Campus will become FIS - with a select section of workspace retained for GP employees for the “foreseeable future” - Presumably until those jobs are sent to Manila and desk space in the US is a thing of the past for us.

I have no problem with 4 days back in the office starting 3/30/28 but can we please have our frigging desks back??? I don’t want a HS locker with a combo lock I need to contact building maintenance to open up for me every 2 weeks. If the powers that be want a return to normality, how about starting with our own desks around our own teams!!!!

So AT&T calls this their main and flagship office location. This office is a pathetic excuse for an office. I feel like I am in a 3rd world country.

There is no parking. Cars park illegally everywhere and drive over the speed limit. The parking they do have available is far back out by the dumpster.

Once I do make the walk into the office all the desks are taken and I have to work from the cafe. I have already contacted real estate about the situation, and they told me this is their only and flagship office available for drop ins in the Dallas suburbs. When I pressed them about parking and desk shortages, they told me I can take a shuttle from 2900 W Plano Pkwy, which is their CDO office and lengthens my commute further.

This company is pathetic. We have billions of dollars in free cash flow, yet we cannot have a respectable suburb office. 5 day RTO to improve collaboration, but now I have park out by the dumpster in the back and work in the cafe while someone warms up their fish lunch.

I miss the good old days when it felt like AT&T served a higher purpose. Now that I know it’s all a facade and AT&T doesn’t care one bit, I see people drive 10+ over the speed limit in the parking lots, park in handicapped, EV, or fire lanes because Plano doesn’t have parking and work from the cafe until they collect their 6 hours because we have a desk shortage.

Additionally, I contacted property management to tell them of the desk and parking shortage. They told me it’s already been addressed?

What exactly does an MBA do all day? Mine sits in her office looking at the computer. Even on weekends rarely ventures outside of her office. Is there that much desk work involved with the role?

Come on admit it who thought up this idea of everyone having to book their desks? Forcing everyone into 4 days a week now coming up with yet another way to sc--w us all over. Can you believe there is other places to work where you can just go into an office and sit down at will. Madness.

Anyone ever received a meeting request from a space partner regarding their current seat assignment?

Email went out today outlining the company's plans to finally eliminate the 90s cubes on RR5 3rd floor, starting with 3W on August 29.

The good news is that employees will get to WFH during reconstruction.

The bad news is that the desk count on 3W will almost double in the same amount of space.
