I can’t wait for this week to be over
However the dice might fall for me. The stress is unbearable.
Cisco and Oracle to cut hundreds of jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area
The job reductions come despite strong financial results for both companies. Cisco reported $14.7 billion in revenue for the fourth quarter, up 8% from a year earlier, and $56.7 billion for the full year, while Oracle posted more than $12 billion in profit in its last fiscal year, further adds the report.

New week
Hi y’all
I hope you had a good weekend. As we look to start this week in our new reality, I feel so energized and proud to see our progress that we made in the last 6 months. We’ve managed to cut away less useful roles, brought in people that we love into those vacancies despite their lack of competencies. We expect these people to exercise growth mindset to continue our progress. We managed to find savings through these layoffs which will definitely add to my bonus next year. I am just glowing after finding those valuable $. As you know, money is my god! 😉
Lastly, for folks that are still having difficulty adjusting to this new reality, remember that I am with you in this journey. Please drop by my secret garden to enjoy the tranquility and the peace it provides me every day. I know I’ve benefitted greatly from those moments of silence. Off to my tailor as I get ready for the GP meeting to charge up those that are thinking of voting me out.
Have a great week!
GvPs and RVP’S literally have list of who they want gone
Are you on “the list”?
Major layoffs at Coca Cola
At least it's not just us.
Week of Sept 2 Happenings?
Layoffs? Realignment? Other info of relevance?
Great company
Imagine being told your job as a director is being eliminated before the holiday weekend.
ACS layoffs
Are layoffs in ACS in the roadmap? Asking before they were heavily before the hiring freeze
CEO of Salesforce called cutting 10,000 the most exciting months of his career.
“Benioff called the first eight months of 2025, during which an estimated 10,000 jobs have been lost to AI, “eight of the most exciting months of my career.”

No finish line = never ending layoffs
When it comes to layoffs there is no finish line. Just Do It? Apparently that only applies to cutting headcount. Always chasing the shiny objects while the basics get benched. Somehow MD still has a job, and HR is running around like it’s a team-building offsite. Help us.
COCA COLA BEV FL FIRING 1000 THIS WEEK
Florida Coca-Cola reducing workforce in September 2025 and not due to financial instability. Adding to the already high unemployment rates in Tampa Bay. Heartless criminals. Sickening!
PPD FSP CDM Layoffs - 26AUG25
I don’t want this significant event to go unnoticed. Many of those laid off were lured to FSP with a bunch of lies of long term work. Didn’t matter that the client wanted to keep them on. If you are US based, with older and more experienced being a bonus, you are doomed.
Benefit changes
When will we know about benefit changes and when will layoffs begin? Some of us will base our futures on this information!!
States begin to see job losses from Trump’s cuts, housing and spending slowdowns
Virginia and New Jersey have been hit especially hard, a Stateline analysis shows.

More layoffs in the US tomorrow?
I can’t keep up with all these rumors anymore. If it’s true, which department’s turn is it this time?
So everything should be wrapped up by the end of the week?
With Tuesday being the big day? Just want to make sure I’m understanding this right.

GT: EMEA Layoffs
When is it happening for GT EMEA?
Happy Labor Day
After getting the RIF in Nov 2018 (65 age, 44 yrs service, only one in my position) I have realized there is no rhyme or reason.
My best opinions are;
1) It’s not business, it’s personal
2) The ELT always look out for themselves
3) What you know means nothing. Who you know means more.
4) It can and will happen to anyone at anytime.
5) Be loyal to your family, never a job. The 60’s and 70’s are gone and not coming back.
6) Trust and respect are a 1 way street and not from leadership, so don't give to them unless the earn it.
Layoff Process
I've heard that the layoff process canbe brutal. Can anyone shed some light on what ctyally happens on layoff day? (Looking for answers, not drama from some troll.) How long do you have to sign the separation papers? Is it before you leave the room or do you have some time before you HAVE to sign?
Health Care Premiums
Retiree here who lost all subsidies. Premiums on individual marketplace plans set to spike. Mercer says employer based premiums set to rise 10% for 2026. Will this huge spike lead to more job losses at the company or will benefits be reduced even more ? Got to believe it will lead to more layoffs for those over age 50 and a combination of benefit cuts and price hikes this Fall. Many companies are laying off already because of this and higher interest rates. GLP-1 dr-gs are killing the system leading to bat schit crazy panic setting in with CFOs. 50% of all costs go to overhead w/insurance companies who pay C-Suite Execs millions. Something needs to be done.
Layoff Walking Challenge cheaters
It’s always pi---d me off looking at those people that immediately have 30,000 steps at midnight. Ain’t no way you’ve covered 30,000 steps. Also those that have 30,000 steps everyday of the challenge
Those are the people with no integrity and ought to be the ones let go.
Penny’s internet watchers putting their lists together trying to figure out who we are since we don’t believe in their reimagining. Get on the app and take note there.
H2 RIF
Expect another month of silence on both sides of the fence whilst the AVPs circle around the cauldron cooking up the next hot mess just in time for Halloween.
If you can get an exit do it now or keep logging evidence of misdemeanours and ‘managerial’ behavior to strengthen your position if you get the tap on the shoulder.
The toxic dial is being turned up daily.
Tesla ends contract at Giga Texas, 82 people lose jobs
Tesla has unexpectedly terminated a contractor’s contract at Gigafactory Texas, resulting in the layoff of 82 workers who were supporting the automaker’s production at the giant factory in Austin.

I wish I’d been demoted
In this job market, that would have been a lot better than being laid off. I'd trade any of you demoted folks in a second.
Why not let Magic Johnson or Simone Biles let us go?
Penny - why pay a speaking fee of $200,000 each to hear their motivational speeches? You should have hired them to give us pep talks about “Dribbling up the middle on our resumes” and the “Uneven bars of life”.
Running on empty
Half our group is gone and the work never slowed down. We’re all scrambling to keep up, but there’s only so much we can cover. It's like IBM is intentionally trying to wear us down. I guess if we quit they don't have to pay us severance during the next RA, so it kind of makes sense.
It doesn't feel like a day off
I barely slept, and all I keep thinking about are layoffs. This job has brought me to a place where I can't even enjoy my time off anymore.
Don't be too happy about this
I know some are gloating about the India layoffs, but you really shouldn’t be. Just because they’re letting people go there doesn’t mean they’ll be hiring here. In fact, it makes it clear that things could be even worse here since they’re laying off people who cost a fraction of what we do. This is not a situation to celebrate.
Any New Layoffs after 08/28?
Are the layoffs over in Technology building? When are they going to replace those highly paid dead weights removed for cheaper, creative, energized younger minds? It happened last time.
Sept layoff?
Are we going to have a layoff in 2 weeks?
Big oil isn’t dead. It’s just more efficient.
Time to get rid of the low hanging fruit.
Spoiler alert: the closer you are to the valve the safer you are.
Major oil companies are actively laying off workers in 2025, driven by a combination of falling oil prices (hovering around $63 per barrel, below the $65 threshold many consider necessary for profitable drilling), post-merger redundancies, cost-cutting initiatives to boost shareholder returns, and broader industry shifts toward efficiency through technology and offshoring. These layoffs are part of a larger trend where U.S. oil and gas production has reached record highs, but employment has declined by about 25% compared to a decade ago, as companies produce more with fewer workers via advanced drilling techniques, automation, and remote operations. This has led to job losses even in booming regions like the Permian Basin, affecting communities in states like Texas, California, and Pennsylvania.
Layoffs in India started?
Saw in #watercooler the goodbye messages starting to flow
Marketing team mostly laid off
Much of marketing team including CMO and entire customer research team was laid off last week. They also folded three BUs into one BU and rumors has it that Directors with less than 3 directs will become Sr. Managers at lower pay. Lots of redunant roles so expect further layoffs to be announced soon.
Tesla contractor MPW lays off 82 workers
A commercial facility management company is laying off workers in Austin after its contract with Tesla Inc. ended unexpectedly.
MPW Industrial Services Inc., an Ohio-based provider of industrial services like cleaning and facility management, is cutting the 82 jobs in its workforce at the automaker’s Gigafactory Texas.
