FA/BOA Layoffs?
In another thread someone said the field is being targeted with layoffs now? Can anyone verify this and how widespread it is?
They have money for offsites but…
Noticed a huge increase in offsites, townhalls they spend millions on but no decent wage increase/bonuses for the peasants. The offsites are constant now. I’ve never seen this before. All while plotting to cut you job.
Hello. Hello Hola
Dell will need to keep laying more off by the thousands
Update 11/13/2025
Total head count by Q1 2026 will be over 35K employees accross whole company. That’s been confirmed by higher ups in my department.
They are mostly going after call centers and stores. AI implementation.

Verizon Cutting 15K next week
https://www.reuters.com/business/verizon-cut-about-15000-jobs-wsj-reports-2025-11-13/
Uh oh...
When will ADs be informed of who that have to terminate/exterminate by phone?
Does anyone know when the AD is officially informed?
If 15,000 are let go - I would be very very worried as a Verizon Customer....!
If this is true, the impact could bring the whole company down. You can't just cut 15,000 people and hope the ship does not eventually sink....just sayin...
the news reports layoff speculation first
thats when you know your company is run by id--ts and cares jack about the v-teamer
How to avoid the next one
Add a quarterly reminder on your phone starting Feb 9 (~ VCIP townhall) to ask your leader how opex per boe has changed since Jan 1 2026 and what are we doing about it. We cannot stop asking this ever. Do not let them surprise you in a few years that costs are up another 20%. Hold them accountable.
If you see cost creep around you, just play it cool and write to your VP. They'll like it. Skip middle management. They'll learn.
CEP if you are reading this you need to create an anonymous cost creep hotline.
With any luck, we can avoid the next one. 10% cuts are large, 25% is derilection of duty and utter mismanagement, with consequences only for the rest of us.
Don't just watch it happen to you. The food on your family's table depends on it. Good luck. Add that phone reminder
News just reported that
News just reported Verizon upped it to 20,000 jobs loss, I’ve also heard internally 30k.
I have a question, is engineering sc--wed(SWE)? At one of the main locations, recently got promoted, and am a bit worried. In early career, hired as a college grad.
Large management layoffs in IT today
Many levels of IT management (Managers, Sr Managers, director) riffed today. Hard to say what comes next but it don’t look great for TMO employees
There goes at least 45k lines
Most employees prob have an average of 3
Lines on their account. 15k layoffs equals losing -about 45k subscriber lines - and another bunch of home internet lines.
Having nightmares!!!
I have been having nightmares since the news broke out, Not able to focus, moral is low, zero motivation to do anything. Not willing to put in any effort until I know my fate next week. I mean whatever happens happens but next couple of days are going brutal!
It's just bunch of rumors at this point...
Nobody knows anything. I'm not saying layoffs aren't happening but seems to me nobody has solid proof of what's actually happening on the 20th, if anything at all.
All these news articles are saying same thing word for word and it's all taken straight from this website. They have no reliable source.
Are we sure the layoffs are done?
My Boss just told me it may not be over. Do they HAVE to wrap this up by a certain day? He said some things are in flux..... But I would be OK.
RIF IN Richmond VA 11/13/25
My last day January 30, 2026. There were 142 associates on the call. Associates from Virginia, Georgia, California, Missouri. God help us all with the economy.
Ansys did not do mass layoffs when Synopsys did often
That is what chatGPT told me. Ansys never had a mass layoff but Synopsys did a few times in the last a few year.
The merge was good initially if you sold all of your Stocks a few days after the merge. Otherwise, you lost 30% minimal.
Nothing is better than seeing ORCL bloated stock dump
The AI market is ORCL’s golden goose and they are betting the farm on it. Diversification is the way you survive in tech. ORCL down 110.00 from 2025 high. That means oracle clown employees that thought it was the best thing since sliced bread lost tons the last 8-12 weeks. Good. That’s what you, esp mgmt, get for laying off so many good people. The worst run company in the world. You could be be lacking 90% of your brain and be a director at Oracle. Hahahagahag
C(cut) T(trade) O(out of office)
Strategy since TU acquired Neustar team to replace (cut) TU workforce. You dont know where you are heading; New tune now talking AI and so on. Prangana failed , OneDev 1.0 expired, One Tru & OneDev2.0 frozen; new tune AI 1.0
Soon dump stocks and then out of office.
Cutting 15k Employees = Decent RIF Package?
Cutting 15,000 employees should save the company mucho dinero (after the initial cost outlay). That said, hopefully those let go will receive a good severance payout…including health coverage, STI and remaining stock plan.
Managers and the RA Practice
If anyone is or was a manager and a RA comes in for a specific employee if they disagree with it for example the affected employee is a top performer can he recommend a lower performer or is the die cast and therefore the manager is powerless
15K clarification, feedback + speculation
My interpretation of the articles going around is that this is affecting “management” employees meaning HQ. Retail is its own thing and they are not categorized the same in the financials.
Retail moving to indirect and/or closing down will be its own thing.
VZ Business Customers are regretting...
They see the news and now know nothing will get installed correctly lol
I hate this feeling.
I hate what this is doing to me. I am here looking at my coworkers and praying its one of them and not me. I don't want anyone to lose their job, but of course I prefer that I don't lose mine. So here I am looking at my VZ "family" and hoping its them. This su-ks.
Anyone else’s office a lot emptier than usual?
In the Ashburn office today, compared to normal Thursdays it felt dead. Morale is at an all time low
Layoffs are a symptom of bad leadership - quote by SS
S.S. said:
Layoffs are a symptom of a system that has lost its heart, not a strategy, and great bosses don't lay people off.
No great bosses here. Just overpaid C-suite listening to consulting firms who use spreadsheets to chop people and perks.
Dell stock is sinking
Why is the stock sinking today? Are there any major negative news? Are we in danger?
Is the 15K including Retail Store Closing?
It is more than 15K if Retail is IN ADDITION to the 15K Corp layoffs
Layoff time
Quite a few today.
When Expertise Gets Replaced By Discounts
I am a biomedical engineer with multiple master's degrees and 25+ years of experience in the field. I even studied FDA regulations at a law school. I have written thousands of engineering documents for FDA compliance many times at different medical device companies. But Medtronic sent my job to India.
Since I do have 25+ years of experience, when a company in a regulated industry sends its work to India, the quality of compliance engineering usually drops. I worked at one firm where the medical device company sent its requirements documentation to India to save money. After about a year, it wasn't working out at all. So, an American-based team in Miami with principal-level engineers had to rewrite it from scratch. I predict this is happening right now for Medtronic. But those VPs overrule it. I know there were mid-level directors who foresaw that as a big risk. Some of them left or just got laid off.
So, why does that happen - the drop in quality of engineering compliance? Usually, it's a variety of factors like time zone difference, culture gap, extreme distance, challenges for English as a 2nd language, and lack of experience. Given the "woke" culture, if an engineer brings up the issue of "English as a 2nd language" then someone usually pulls the race card rather than deal with it. I've seen that happen multiple times with offshore teams. Rather than admit their writing su-ks, they'll just yell racism in a variety of ways. BTW - I am a bilingual speaker of English and another language as a minority engineer. So, I know when someone struggles with English as a 2nd language. It's common with offshore teams. Are there exceptions? Sure. But it would be naive to assume the cluster doesn't exist.
But I'm having great fun doing research on AI for medical imaging. I work with a group affiliated with the Mayo Clinic over in Rochester. I gave up on the medical device industry and work in finance now. But I still do academic research outside of work with medical imaging and AI. It's very rewarding - no ugly corporate politics and no offshoring. I had a meeting with two principal scientists today to discuss fMRI and DTI data processing. The research of AI and medical imaging is fascinating. One can still enjoy such research without dealing with the corporate nightmares of the medical device industry.
BTW - be sure to lookout for that FDA Audit Inspector when that offshore team has to show its documentation for compliance engineering. I doubt they can make the cut. I've seen it fail multiple times.
Verizon turned their back on the core bread and butter
So no they are not laying off field techs .Infact they are actually Hiring like crazy .The reality is that long ago the company 1 focus turned solely to wireless which we all knew was not gonna be forever. All while turning their back on the back bone bread and butter of wireline that fed their cell towers served their longtime customers towns buisness. This also was bad for wireless since if you been beaten up and abused by a company on wireline you be your not gonna go buy a wireless plan from them.Next they spent more money and time on hiring Managers upon managers to waste time trying to micromanage the people actually doing the work everyday .We now have brand that’s been beaten down has a bad look.Too much management most of who know nothing .All managing a smaller work force with less customers .Hence Layoffs
Overworked and still blamed...
Anyone else feel like we’re stuck in a company where the people doing the actual work keep getting cut, while the folks who create the bottlenecks sail through untouched??? every layoff just leaves fewer hands, more red tape, and a fresh round of do more with less from leaders who havent touched real work in years... the front line teams get blamed, the same broken processes remain, and nothing changes except the workload dumped on whoever is left...at some point you have to ask how many rounds of cuts it takes before leadership admits the problem isnt the workforce, it’s the way the place is being run???
Porting # out and traveling
Pretty sure I’m getting the can. I’d like to port my number away from Verizon while I blow my severance money traveling the world. What carrier or mvno should I port to that would be cheap to travel with while being able to keep my number so I don’t miss any recruiter calls?
Lesson for BOD
I believe there’s a lesson here for the Board of Directors. It has to do with leadership accountability, starting with the ELT and cascading all the way down to front line management…. If nothing else, the BOD should have some questions about why this huge layoff was necessary. And I don’t think it’s all Ryan’s fault. This could have been avoided.

How many people in the US?
Nobody on my team, but that means nothing. We were already running bare bones. Good luck to everyone. I feel like cr-p every time we go through this.
