Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Let's hope the era of layoffs as a fix-all is behind us

Maybe that'll finally force leadership to step up their game and actually run the business instead of just extracting wealth.

They may as well sell the company to India and put everyone out of their misery...if they haven't already

@bm OI 100% Steady RIFs now March re-org splits off "Product Build" from critical thinking functions (what they think is harder to offshore). The Product Build piece will be replaced with AI vibe coding and tech people with a pulse will be seated in India.

The rest will be almost exclusively focused on sales and those previously in commercial on commission plans will get cut. Eventually we'll rely almost exclusively on vendors like Infosys to sell what's left of Optum offerings.

I’m only ever disappointed that my name isn’t put on the list of rifs.

Layoffs will continue until morale improves, or until all non-top level
Jobs have been offshored.

@OP it about to get worse, aggressive 80% offshore target and eliminate several roles with One person doing 10x using AI. Only people left in the US will be executives, VPs and their brown noser executives assistants.

Wishful thinking.
United’s playbook for years
Now major financial issues and pressures.
It will not stop
Scheduled monthly unfortunately

Layoffs has been a part of UHG/Optum’s standard practice for over 25 years. It will not stop.

@OP I don't know how many times it has to be posted, The layoffs will continue minimally through next year. They want to get to a certain percentage of employees offshore. There will be multiple rounds coming the rest of this year and discussions are underway with how to approach next year's.
