Are we ever going to be able to focus on work again, or is this just how it’s going to be now?

Go work somewhere else!
@OP I’m exhausted too. so glad to have just received a job offer at another company with same pay and less AI (actually Indians). Putting in my notice on Friday and I’m out this b1tch!
Dan said on his first townhall that lay offs will be the way of life at Verizon. he is more focused on laying off and offshoring more jobs to India to cut costs. No real plan for the future
Not until Dan leaves
Best thing that ever happened to me was Verizon cutting ties. Between the terrible leaders, zero work/life balance and the stores getting praised for cheating the systems (I hear Elston is still up to their shenanigans) I was not happy in my role and not proud to work for this company any longer. The only thing I do miss are my peers and my team. But live/laugh/love, I’m here to tell you all that the grass is greener on the other side!!! Don’t live in anxiety if you’re going to lose your job, just embrace it. Bring it on!!!
Bring back Clean Coal — that solves everything.
Being laid off was the best thing that happened to me. No more stress, no more terrible leaders and the only thing I miss are my co-workers!
so stop looking
This will be the norm.
We are going into the A.I., automation and robot world. Things are not going to settle down.
What you have to do is embrace A.I. and create. It's not going away. If you don't know how, then take free online courses to learn it. The world is changing.
As advised by our Sr Leadership during our last town hall meeting: “don’t expect things to settle down for at least 12-18 months”
