When will ESG take care of the redundant managers?

There are still many redundant managers in ESG.
ESG could borrow Amazon’s layoff criteria to weed out them:

Managers reporting into other managers at the same level.
Managers with less than half their direct reports in the same location.
Managers with fewer than 8 direct reports.
Managers who are remote employees themselves.

The GM of ESG should really take a hard look at the managers under the directors, since directors will always try to protect the ones they’re tight with. And keep an eye on recent org changes, because reporting lines can get shuffled around just to help certain managers dodge these criteria.

Serial layoffs are becoming the norm heading into 2026

About 49% of HR leaders reporting significant drops in employee morale after serial layoffs, while 47% said they saw a drop in connectivity. About 41% said they saw an increase in resignations.

There’s been a lot of pressure lately

It almost feels intentional, as if my team is being set up to fail. It seems more like attrition by design than anything else. People are so demoralized that no one has the energy to push back. Being laid off with severance is beginning to feel like a win, given Nike's trajectory and compared to being worn down by tactics meant to make you quit or give a reason to fire you.

I wish we could go back in time on layoffs

Years ago, it always felt like they targeted lower performers, and most of us were okay with that. But that hasn’t been the pattern lately. The more recent cuts looked like they just wiped out roles and whoever happened to sit in them, performance be damned. Now nobody feels safe anymore. How's that better for the company?

Pay package reports

How’s it feel seeing in print our median employee pay went up 1% while Geoff jumped 16% and is the highest paid ceo in med tech?

Over a quarter if a million of personal use of the corporate jet while we get turned down for legitimate business travel between facilities.

Not to mention seeing greg smith get almost $9m to leave ops in total shambles…..

Happy new year, I guess, to us.

Another layoff at Charles River Labs

“We are continuously evaluating our business operations to ensure alignment with long-term strategic goals,” CRL spokesperson Amy Cianciaruso, said by email Dec. 26. “A key part of that strategy is evaluating our workforce to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time. We are working with impacted employees to provide the necessary resources to help them through this period."

Being competent, delivering results does not matter

Many who were competent and delivering got shown the door while useless people who do nothing survived and failed up. Majority of Directors/VPs don't know the ABCs of engineering of managing people - they are just good su-k ups, liars and back stabbers. Bad behavior and failure gets you promoted - IDK. Note I did not say everyone, there are brilliant, kind, great leaders who are worth every dollar they get paid, but they are the few angels around.

Got a 3 rating and 4 rating

Hey there!

Just got my miserable rating of 3 and another 4 rating. Does it mean I gotta an overall rating of 4?

I also suppose there goes my chance to even transfer to another team even if the promise of no PIP?

No need to say about incre or pathetic bonus, just looking survival at this point of time

London Council Overrides Mayor's Veto, Threatens Layoffs

London City Council overrode Mayor Randall Weddle's vetoes on Tuesday. This included an amended budget ordinance. The new budget could lead to 87 city employee layoffs. Affected employees are filing a wrongful termination lawsuit. The budget changes are set to take effect next Thursday.

Employee Fall-out from Strategy Charade

There are more employees across clinical and business operations leaving, most recently there has been many exits from HR.

One of the common themes during exit interviews is the lack of trust due to the the $30 million settlement award against Integris due to the cyber incident in Q4 of 2023.

Our Information Security department was turned into a paper factory due to the bad hire of VP CISO Stacy Stika. Stacy Stika has been given absolute decision-power over technical defenses, yet she have never built a system, cannot read code, and fundamentally does not understand how attacks work. What she does understand is spending time investing in media attention grabs such as submitting her own nomination backed by her friends to the Becker's Hospital Review. Becker's should have verified Stacy Stika could walk through, in technical detail, how she would contain a ransomware attack that bypassed endpoint protection AND was has no negligent breaches linked to her name.

Stacy's leadership has done the following since her arrival:

  • Increased stress of clinicians due to mixed messages of security
  • Institutionalized Dishonesty
  • Taken the focus from care of those most vulnerable

We are tired of of the security glitches slowing us down. We have provided feedback however the people we provided this feedback to are no longer with the company. The Deputy CISO who fixed the problems from the 2023 hack left. We have frustrated clinicians who are the backbone of Integris leaving.

This is how 'layoffs' work here, leadership is restructuring healthcare services which is causing clinical staff turnover with no backfill. Also people are fired after the Glint my voice survey which claims anonymous feedback. If one is not fired for honest employee survey reviews then retaliation begins until the target quits. Worst of all, hiring in IT has more than tripled.

PIP In Disguise as Layoff

I have hit all my goals and performance metrics, and still receive a partial meets. Which put me on a PIP. Is a PIP just a way for the company to let someone go without giving them a package, like they did in the past when it was a layoff?

Has anyone used a lawyer in Florida to fight this when it has happened?

4 Rounds of New Year Layoffs and Its not even 2026 Yet!

OMFG, it’s not even 2026 yet and there were already 4 rounds of layoffs announced. According to the WARN Tracker website, West Des Moines is laying off another 65 (1/2,1/23 and 2/6). Sacramento is laying off another 114 employees on 2/6. While it’s great to have a paycheck, this place is toxic AF and not worth the fear this place is filling my soul with. WF used to be such a fun and great place to work.

Anybody want to take bets the RTO mandate was to use against us for layoffs?

Dell mandated the 5 day RTO for multiple reasons but one of them I think is because they have a plan and that plan is to use it to let go a LOT of people who either never abided by that policy, OR didn't go in enough/quarter. Which technically speaking, is a valid reason to lay someone off as they are not following the company policy.

They have a solid years worth of badge tracking now and those who were supposed to go in but didn't, are likely gonna be on the chopping block. They made it so that anybody who is within a 60 minute drive has to go into office, which is very unreasonable and they know it was. 30-35 minute drive should have been the cutoff IMPO but it was an hour because they know that a lot of those who do live "within that hour" but have a 55 min commute, are likely either going to quit or straight up not go in 5 days/week.

idk, I've lost the incentive to do an amazing job. Why should I when there is no "pot of gold" at the end for me?

I've lost the will to go "above and beyond."

I dont know where Dell is trying to go or what their "plan" is but, I feel like at this point people are just doing the best/minimum they can simply to keep their job - considering the consistent, constant, and year round layoffs they've had for the last 5 years.

There literally is no incentive to do more than the minimum anymore and to literally do what is expected of you, and no more than that. Insperity points are fine but like, I think people would far prefer actual MONEY than points you still get taxed on... and yes, you DO get taxed on those points. Go look at your paycheck stub things on Fidelity or whatever the site is and you'll see. Last year (2025) we couldn't even give out points for half the year because of the minimal budget lol.

Promotions seem to be a thing of the past at Dell so, why do extra work or try being a "star" when there is nothing in it for you at this point? If not for my insanely good raises the last 6 years, and constant promises of promotion, I'd have been long gone by now. My first year at Dell (2020) I got a 9.7% raise which was insane. Then last year I got a 12% raise which was mind boggling lol. The other raises were between 4-6% so pretty normal I suppose. That's all great but I want my promotion that I'm owed now.

Then, since they flattened the mid level management and basically put everybody under a director, which ours wants nothing to do with my little team and has NO idea what we do, chances for promotion are slim to none along with solid raises.

Then with the RTO bs, I'm now also driving 64 miles round trip every day + spending $30/week on tolls alone, and another $40/week on a tank of gas, only to go into an office in which nobody on my team works at/goes to. An unnecessary $70-80 a week and wear and tare on my car. I wouldn't mind if at least SOME of my team was there but I just go sit in a comfy booth for an hour, then go home. IF I even go into the building, anyways lol...

You know what makes employees work harder and better? INCENTIVES! aka promotions, better raises, more money. Let's be honest, nobody works for Dell because they love the company. People work there for a paycheck and that is IT. I personally do love my job but I'm at the point where I am looking to get out since I'm not seeing growth opportunities anytime soon.

A final warning for anyone still here

If you're still at CVS, you should already be looking for an exit. It's not bouncing back. They will keep cutting until there's nothing left but a shell that can't operate. When it finally collapses, it will take everyone still here down with it. Get out before you're left with nothing.

Queen Transportation layoffs

A North Carolina trucking company with 89 trucks and 90 drivers abruptly ceased operations over the Christmas holiday, leaving drivers, owner-operators, mechanics and office staff suddenly unemployed, according to multiple social media posts from employees and industry sources.

Can this be confirmed?

Looks like 272 were escorted out in Sept. 2025. There are at least this amount again planned for 2026 according to news..
Looks like stock (BC) is growing slowly, but 2026 senior notes buyback not a good sign.

I'm asking specifically about the more layoffs early next year part.

UPS Kinston center will be closing, but there will be no union layoffs

“Today we had a change of operations meeting for the closing of UPS Kinston center. Fortunately, while the building is closing, all the employees have the opportunity to follow work, and none will be forced to be laid off! The benefits of having a union contract!! Thanks to all the Business Agents and Shop Stewards who ensured the company followed the contract protecting our.” – said Rick Armstrong of Teamsters Local 391.

Entertainment and media layoffs up 18% with over 17,000 jobs slashed in 2025

In 2025, over 17,000 jobs were cut across television, film, broadcast, news and streaming in the first 11 months of the year. This figure was up 18% from last year, continuing a trend from the past few years as the industry has wrestled with consolidation and other pressures like the double strikes in 2023.

End of cleaning contract results in 211 layoffs

Some 200 Dallas residents will be out of a job early next year as Southern Methodist University makes changes to its janitorial services. In late December letter, ABM Texas General Services informed the Texas Workforce Commission that 211 team members will be laid off effective March 12.

Dan the Hatchet Man

Let me get this straight, Dan is Mr. AI, sits on multiple AI company boards, can clearly see in the the future so much that he slashes 13k jobs because AGI is 10 months away. But he only does email? Wait Mr. AI only does email a century old technology and doesn’t like slack a new technology with tons of AI functions. Yeah I don’t buy his little AI story. Hans was ousted by a coupe and Dan is trying to boost his pockets along with other prominent shareholders before Starlink takes ours and TMOs lunch.

Severance Portal Help

I can no longer access the Severance Portal from my personal computer following my last day worked (it worked prior to 12/19). It also won’t let me reset my password. I sent an email to the address I located with no response as of yet. We’re supposed to have access to it for 6 months. Is anyone else who was impacted also experiencing this? If so, any tips on how to get access again?

What are they thinking?

After so many rounds of cuts, good people leaving on their own, and a hiring freeze for ages, who is even left to lay off? The teams are already skeletal, and morale is nonexistent, to put it mildly. The next logical step shouldn't be just more layoffs, but questioning if the company can even function with the people who remain.

More layoffs are coming

Yes, more layoffs are coming but not before new year... all signs point to January/February time frame. Its about time they do something about our decline! They should have leaned out a while back but didn't want to pay out people's packages so instead they tried to push people out or change people's job to create a scenario that would allow them to let people go without a cause.

Bumping this for info, the OP is @10d+1kbqefsjs.

Nike heritage is over

was in outlets and Nike stores during holiday shopping with family. And they all had tons of AJs, AFs, Dunks and other classic styles by the tons and in deep discounts.
After this effort by Nike, I don't think that anyone with correct mindset will pay outrageous and bloated Nike Classic products in the future.
JD and Nike management couldn't stand resellers and tried to get rid of them. They couldn't stand the fact that anyone was making money off their product. Well they succeeded!! Because no one will touch it!! Nike Classics RIP, you are dead and buried.

Nike management in their infinite wisdom tried to ki-l all the roaches but ended up burning down the whole farm. LOL what a joke.

I have talked to few of the resellers and afficionados that I know and they are all out of the business. And they are so burned, they will not touch Nike products with 10 foot pole.
