Can we use this forum for more?

Situation: Layoffs have been occurring almost continually globally for the past period, at least 8 years, possibly much longer. Yet we only here anecdotal information regarding details.
Idea: Instead of just posting here, alert any remaining local media sources in your region about what has happened. Maybe that has already been done. If so, post a link to the article here where others can share on social media. If not, tell the story and if the media is still well-funded enough, may be able to do some investigative reporting. The idea is to get a larger audience aware of the ongoing removal of employees.
Benefits:

  • Increased possibilities of potential new employees thinking twice before joining
  • raised awareness of retail investors who are chasing a dividend or turnaround,
  • expanded visibility for current employees to what is actually happening in the environment (particularly remote employees who don't see their co-workers being walked out)
  • Feel good effect by letting a broader audience know what the company is attempting to keep hidden

Once upon a time an employee
In management hogged his or her seat for almost decades.
In times like these , where the stock price is not moving and hovering around at a standstill, why is management still hogging their seats with over 3 years
. There should be a constant annual churn if you are not producing just like our top
Employees were let go in RIF. There has to be a specific management level RIF as well
.


Command Center outsourced?

I heard the Command Center and Help Desk departments were recently outsourced before the New Year? And now from seeing this site, it seems that a lot of departments are being slashed? Wow. How is this affecting the day to day operations with the app support and daily prod processing that was always deemed critical?


I currently work at Oracle Pleasanton office. I previously worked at the Santa Clara office. I am glad to have gotten out of there.

At the Pleasanton office. Every day I am surrounded by self-entitled D-Bags. These people really think they are better than everyone and look down at you. There are also many D-Bags at the Santa Clara office too. Hopefully with continued lay-offs at Pleasanton and Santa Clara Oracle gets rid of more of the D-Bags.


How is it that they always manage to lay off the best performers?

I'm dreading the coming week. Losing the literal backbone of our team has made it impossible to keep up, and everyone around me is struggling too. Work was stressful before, now it's three times worse. And you know what happens if we don't perform? That becomes the excuse to cut us next. If results actually mattered, maybe they'd have thought harder about who they let walk.


Add me to the list of people hoping to get cut next round

It's not even just Verizon anymore. I'm done, period. Been here too long. I can barely drag myself into the office these days. I need out. And I'm willing to take the risk in this market. I'll survive a few months, the big financial stuff is behind me. Mortgage done, kid almost done with school. I can afford to coast for a bit. Frankly, I never want to hear the name Verizon again after this.

Big Layoffs in California

The team in Dearborn apparently held a meeting and believe that everything being done in California is mere smoke and mirrors, a dog and pony show. They have also questioned the cost-value relationship of skunkworks. Recently, some consultants visited and essentially stated that every innovation from the team was merely a rehash of ideas from other companies. They suggested that the internal team could have easily accomplished the same thing at a lower cost with more realistic assumptions resulting in higher return for the company.


Bently Nevada

The Bently Nevada division has already gone through multiple layoffs in 2026. It’s all about making sure the almighty EBITA is good and no longer focusing on making sure the client is being taken care of.

The sales team is shrinking without backfilling roles. When a rep leaves all of their clients and spread out under another sales rep. Increased responsibility with no increase in pay.

Technical Account Managers are being laid off without being replaced. The remaining Technical Account Managers are spread so thin that no one has the bandwidth to fully support the sales reps.

There are also less Sales Directors now. Instead of backfilling the roles reps are just spread out amount the other directors. Each Sales Director has too many reps to be responsible for now.

Quotas have been unrealistically increased and the bonus structure has become even more difficult to reach your 100% pay.

Company is trying to become a software company and has put all of its eggs into the “cordant” basket even though the hardware is the meat and butter of the business.

All of this happening despite the fact that we break record numbers in sales every year. Overall team morale is the lowest I have ever seen and I have been with the company many years now.

Group, I should have been more aware of my demise by reading this forum for the past couple of years. I should have put on my clown shoes a few years ago and sat on the plank of the dunk tank as you all would have saved the company at 10 quid a toss. Anyone out there have a good number to call HR so I can get my golden parachute? It's so tough to get an audience with someone who can help. Best regards, Bandy


I've landed at "not care"

From truly enjoying my work here years ago, to all the stress from waves of layoffs throughout the decline, now I've reached the point where I have no hope that Nike will ever again be a great company to work for, and I'm looking forward to being on the next list. I've been here too long to cut the cord easily, so the sooner they make that decision for me, the better.


April 10th: Walmart Layoff Projections

Here’s our estimates on Walmart layoff activity for the next several months based on data we’ve collected. Some dates are specific and some are general. That’s due to business intelligence that either stands out, or, doesn’t stand out.

Here’s some facts that drive our estimates this time:

  • April through August are traditionally high layoff times for Walmart
  • Imbedded quiet days in April/May to allow for Q1 End, Q1 Reporting and Memorial Day.
  • Project and budget reviews reveal considerable expense and capital saving opportunities do exist
  • New capital projects to support AI are under consideration, including some eye popping infrastructure projects. All these projects will need to be funded
  • There’s a considerable amount of tech outsourcing available (at favorable rates) to assume and run current systems
  • Renewed focus on removing shadow IT projects and resources across the enterprise

Here’s our take on dates:

  • [ ] 4/13 thru 4/28 increases to 70% likelihood of layoffs
  • [ ] 5/6 thru 6/25 100% likelihood
  • [ ] 6/30 thru 7/28 90% likelihood
  • [ ] 8/4 thru 8/27 90% likelihood

The Difference

A lot of people who were not here ask how was EJ different pre-2019. A few callouts:

  • JW cut $100M+ out of the budget to avoid layoffs during the ‘08-‘09 crisis. PP wants to layoff home office associates to capture millions in what she sees as “expenses”.

  • JW’s agenda was the field, home office, and client. PP’s agenda was her legacy but now that she has bitten the hand that feeds her (the field) and has bitten the hand that pet her (the home office/CSTs) now her agenda is retribution.

Besides her animosity geared towards associates who did not fit her political and social beliefs, she now despises everyone.

Pre 2019 there was a saying, “You think and act different when you’re a partner”. I haven’t heard that mantra in 7 years as it went out the window with her mandates and the people she has brought in along with the leaders hired in the lower ranks. The reason her door mimics her FA door from Michigan is because the name on the door is the only name that matters to her.
