I was offered a promotion but I'd have to move for it. It's not a bad offer, but with all the cuts, I'm a bit hesitant to pack up and move my entire family and then potentially end up jobless. Is this something that actually happens or am I safe at least for a while if I accept?

Q1 layoffs
I hate hearing more rumors about layoffs. Does anybody know where this came from? Any chance it's true or am I just getting stressed over nothing?
Three years without a raise
I'm done with DXC.
Santa Barbara County Public Health Department pauses layoffs
The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department paused its plan to make layoffs and transition thousands of patients away from county clinics due to “unsatisfactory immigration status.” The decision follows an ongoing injunction to a change in federal law.

Amazon Engineers Face Layoffs In Key States as the Restructure Continues
Amazon’s record layoff plans this year have already drawn considerable attention, and the latest data shows that engineers at the organization faced a significant portion of the heat.

When will layoffs continue?
Nothing before next year, right?
Is anybody else stuck thinking about layoffs?
Even today? I keep replaying the next round in my head and wondering when it's coming and how large it'll be and whether I'm actually going to make it through. The worry just hangs around because this place has for sure left a mark on everyone who had to live through all of it.
Tyson layoffs hit West Texas
Tyson Foods plans to cut 1,761 jobs at its Amarillo beef-processing complex early next year as the company prepares to shut down an entire production shift, according to a notice filed with state regulators.

You know what's funny?
Layoffs are always done to boost stock price. This leadership can't even do that right, as our stock went down instead. Talk about miscalculating.
Layoffs
Layoffs will occur on the week of December 12. You're welcome.
Is this true or is somebody trolling?
Braga Fresh layoffs
Less than four months later, Tim Stejskal, CEO of organicgirl, announced they would be closing the Braga Fresh processing facility in Spreckels, resulting in the loss of 260 jobs.

Would you rather be forced to five-day RTO or be laid off?
I'd prefer severance.
Should we expect more layoffs?
Some people are mentioning December, any truth to that?
Happy Thanksgiving
Anyone get a RIF package for the holidays? I know quite a few who actually want it, but they are hard to come by, not many people get the gift 🎁
If someone has received a RIF, what’s it look like in 2025, do they give you anything decent?
Executive Compensation During RIF
While the plan was being developed to layoff 15,000 people a retention bonus was extended to Sampath and the CFO Skiadas. Each received $4,000,000 in stock. Hans will collect close to $25,000,000 for 2025 and will continue to get paid as an advisory member of the board. Dan's salary is $1,500,000 with long term incentives that will mature to $60,000,000.
Let that sink in while you navigate your job search. For those that have expressed guilt because you still have a job and your peers were let go, ask these execs how they manage to sleep at night. They are making a windfall while others suffer. Sam can speak to this in the next all hands and explain how execs and the front line are treated equally.
Happy Thanksgiving to Layoff Alumni of Nielsen
Your layoff help David Kenny and Karthik Rao have a more joyous holiday! Give thanks!!
1st QTR 2026 Southeast Layoff Looming
Any news on the surplus declaration coming Dec 15 for bargained employees ?
Happy Thanksgiving to all Except Dan Schulman
I hope Dan’s Thanksgiving is as warm and comforting as an 8 AM layoff call.
More layoffs
Memphis-based FedEx filed a WARN notice (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) in Texas on Nov. 25. According to the notice, FedEx plans to lay off 856 employees at the FedEx Supply Chain Logistics & Electronics facility in Dallas County. The layoff date is Jan. 29, according to the notice.

RIF's just been announced
And so it begins!
Doesn't feel like Thanksgiving
I don’t feel like I have much to be thankful for right now, and the only thing I keep trying to remind myself of is that at least I don’t have a wife and kids depending on me, because getting laid off would’ve hit even harder if I had a whole family to worry about. It just feels awful that they chose this exact moment to do it, right when the holidays are supposed to make people feel grounded and supported, and I can’t stop thinking about how easily they could’ve waited until January instead of dumping all this stress on everyone now.
EA Internal Opening Posted
Did everyone see an EA position just opened up in BR? I am sure there was someone more than qualified that was just RIFed that could have been retained. It's disgusting to make people flock to one single position in the hope they are not taken off payroll.
I am glad to walk away from this place.
UK redundancy 28/11
The usual post Christmas cuts have happened in UK with everyone going on 28th November.
Yet again there's no handover or plan for the work of those going.
Usual dead weight avoid the axe

Shoulda Taken The Package
Oh wait, yall didn't and there might not even be a package in Q1 layoff.
Even SB knows there's nothing to be thankful for.
No email about Thanksgiving this year. Guess he accidentally fired his email composer along the way?
Got laid off by CGI this week beacuse of shortage of work
BC team - no projects, no government work. Got laid off by CGI this week beacuse of shortage of work.
What’s your theme song?
I’ve been through 4 layoffs at 3 different companies, unfortunately it’s a common corporate playbook for those working in IT
The first layoff, my theme song was - It’s My Life by Bon Jovi. Played that so loud on repeat, and it kept me going
This layoff, it’s - Unstoppable by Sia
What’s your theme song, one that gives you energy and motivates you, that will power you thru this storm?
It's even more jacked if you look at the timing
Let's say every worker averages 100k. So each personal day is ~$400 on average and each worker uses 2 personal days during Christmas because they dont carry over. Let's also exclude NJ workers from the equation who get 90 days notice.
Since they don't pay out personal days it saves up to ~5-10 million by getting rid of Workers before Christmas week. As opposed to being off books on 12/31.
I mostly feel relieved
I lost a job I didn’t even like, and I definitely won’t miss my manager, or a few people on my team, for that matter. But I’m still terrified of what’s out there. I’ve saved enough to bridge myself over for a bit, which helps ease the anxiety. I’m giving myself some time to decompress, and then I know I’ll flip straight into panic mode the moment I start dealing with the job market. I have this feeling things will get worse before they get better. It’s really hard to feel even remotely optimistic these days.

RIF CA remote workers
If you only received a 30 daybWARN notice, CHALLENGE IT. They are trying to sc--w those of us that work remote. Your job profile probably says walnut or Irvine. Contact the Ask HR and be sure to challenge their policy (which is not the law). Here is what I sent... (the more of us that challenge their bad business practice the better for all of us)
Dear HR Department / [Specific HR Contact Name if known],
I am writing to formally acknowledge receipt of the layoff notification dated November 20, 2025, with an effective date of December 20, 2025.
Given the significant number of employees affected by the recent workforce reduction, both within California and company-wide, I have questions regarding the notice period provided under applicable state and federal laws, specifically the California WARN Act and the federal WARN Act.
The notice I received provides 30 days' advance notice. However, both the federal WARN Act and the California WARN Act generally require employers to provide at least 60 days' advance written notice for mass layoffs.
I kindly request the following information:
Clarification of the Notice Period: Please confirm if the 30-day notice period is being provided in accordance with a specific exception to the 60-day notice requirement (such as the "unforeseeable business circumstances" or "faltering company" exceptions), and if so, provide documentation supporting the applicability of that exception.
Documentation of Compliance: Please provide documentation verifying that notice has been given to the appropriate state agency (California Employment Development Department (EDD)) and local government officials as required by the WARN Act regulations. Employers can email their notices to the EDD at eddwarnnotice@edd.ca.gov.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to receiving the requested information.
Sincerely,
[Your Full Name]
[Your Phone Number]
[Your Employee ID Number]
Why are they doing “secret” layoffs?
There’s been multiple layoffs in the past week where they are only informing associates internal to that particular org. Are they planning to inform the rest of the firm? Genuinely wondering.
Layoffs Clorox
Clorox is laying off; they are being careful to keep under 50 so they don't have to announce it to the public. It's done quietly a few here and there throughout the month (some this week, others next week, etc.). It's unfortunate that it's mostly the over 50 and long tenure that are being affective.
The movie The Company Men
Just saw this movie and it’s about Verizon.
The gist of it is a company laying off employees and everyone is on the chopping block, even the ones who don’t expect it. And the ones who get let go get a small severance and struggle to find work.
