I hear through the grapevine of more, and very significant, layoffs today. I worked at this once great company for a good number of years, until the PE firms and an incompetent CEO started driving it into the ground. It’s a real shame and I truly hope the recently-announced replacement CEO can turn the company around. I feel bad for tne many people who have lost their jobs today.

Any details about this new title?

1. Do not trust anyone at Boeing you work with; co-workers, college friends or managers. Any of these people will not hesitate to stab you in the back if they believe they will get ahead doing so.
2. Do no more than the absolute bare minimum in preforming your job. Never take on any additional work because there is nothing to gain for doing so.
3. Don't give your manager, lead or coworkers your cell number. Once you are off the clock for the day you have no obligation taking any work-related calls.
4. Never delay taking any PTO due to work obligations.
5. Do not consider becoming a Whistleblower. If you do decide to, you better first contact the FBI and ask them to put you in the Federal Witness Protect Program.

Washington's unemployment rate held steady at 5.2% in May. The state economy added 10,600 jobs during the month. This represented the largest one-month gain this year. However, the unemployment rate was 4.5% in May 2025. Overall jobs decreased by 0.2% since that time.

Dairy Farmers of America will close its St. Albans milk processing plant. This decision will affect approximately 80 employees. The cooperative cited broader operational and network changes. Workers were notified shortly before the public announcement. The plant's last day of operations is scheduled for August 17.

Marine Acquisition Inc. (doing business as Dometic) is permanently closing its marine manufacturing facility in Limerick Township, Pennsylvania. This closure is eliminating 89 jobs.

layoffs sometimes hit front-line employees hardest? For every manager affected, 8-9 employees lose their jobs. A better approach would be rotating managers across teams and applying equal accountability at all levels. Restructuring should be fair from top to bottom

FIS has layers and layers of Management.
Basically these managers contribute zero value addition.
Have never seen Ajay Goud, Ajay Gupta or Ramanand speak a single word during meeting.
They hardly participate in technical discussions.
If Elon Musk takes over FIS, I guess all of them will lose job on day 1

How bad does it stink to service the big chains now? It’s easier to create a local Jam or honey and sell it into a Walmart locally than it is to sell for a cpg company right now. My neighbor got her honey into Walmart (9 stores) and is making more than our TSLs from that alone. These jobs are really bad right now.

Applied for a new position at another bank. I’ve made it through 4 interviews and waiting for a response. The weird part is they reposted the position online a couple of hours before I completed the 4th interview. I would think I would have received a decline before the reposted the position but I had not even completed the last interview yet. Is it a bad sign??? Has this happened to anyone?

With all the discussion lately about the “low-hire, low-fire” labor market, I’m curious whether PIPs are effectively being used as a low-fire tool at Exxon.

Hypothetical example:

John Smith is in his mid-30s, has been with the company 5+ years, has consistently been above NI throughout his career (not OWD, but not NI either).

A few questions for those familiar with how things work in practice:

• What are his chances of making it to retirement age (say, 55+) if he continues performing at roughly the same level?
• If he ends up on a PIP, is a single PIP typically enough to result in termination, or are there usually multiple opportunities to improve?
• If someone successfully completes a first PIP, what happens if they are placed on a second PIP later in their career? Is termination effectively inevitable at that point, or can people recover and continue progressing?

Not asking about any specific individual—just trying to better understand how the process works in reality versus on paper.

Anyone hearing of layoffs within CRIU for analysts who work cases? This whole AI CoPilot bullsh-t is getting everyone on edge. Doesn't help when C14s consistently say "AI might be taking our jobs soon".

Lavish Roots eliminated 263 positions. The company served as a food vendor for Meta offices. Meta is transitioning to a new food provider. Most affected Lavish Roots employees will move to Meta's new provider. This change led to the job eliminations.

There will be announcements made early 2027 that you will either work in a Truist office or you will be out of a job. They will be calling people individually next year, giving the ultimatum, either move to one of the locations, come into the office daily, or you will be let go.
