NIKE'S BIGGEST MISTAKE

destroy independent dealers network who had connection with their local markets, customer base and worked hard everyday to maintain positive relationships from Nike and their local customers.
Each individual dealers knew the market and provided what customer demanded. And from broad Nike offering they selected and provided what customer wants
For example: I had couple of store where there were majority of population was Hispanic and I worked hard to provide what they wanted. And I had a friend who had stores in mostly African American inner-city area his store offering was totally different than mine. And a friend in Central Valley rural area had his own offering of shoes that people in his area wanted.
Now, Nike eliminated all of their distribution system that helped to get where they are.
Instead, they have a system where it is one size fit approach.

Greed is what it ki-led the Nike. They thought that they could do everything by themselves with their minimum wage staff in the store. WRONG!!!!

Communism failed everywhere in the world because they thought that being is big is the best answer but history has proven thousands of individuals will beat communist every time.

I was told that eliminating all the independent dealers was PK's idea and ditto for hiring JD as CEO.
PK built Nike but he is also main reason that Nike will face negative future.

Regional Distribution Layoffs (Devens)

AE Regional Distribution Co., which distributes products for American Eagle Outfitters, plans to shut down its Massachusetts distribution center in Devens. The closure will result in 103 job losses, according to a Massachusetts Workers Adjustment Retraining Notice submitted to the state on Feb. 11.

  • The layoffs at the facility located at 64 Jackson Road are scheduled to take place between April 12 and May 6, the filing states.

The company, previously known as Quiet Logistics, was purchased by American Eagle in 2021 for approximately $360 million. The acquisition was intended to speed up deliveries to retail stores, according to Yahoo Finance. Earlier this year, American Eagle announced it would reduce its accelerated delivery initiative and close its distribution centers.

A company spokesperson said the move is designed to allow AEO to concentrate on growth and its core portfolio of lifestyle brands.

The spokesperson added that Quiet has appreciated its customer partnerships and, when possible, is helping clients transition to alternative providers. The company also acknowledged its employees’ contributions and said it intends to provide support during the transition.

5B more net outflows in January 2026

That’s according to the release. It feels like a never ending losing streak.

Does anyone else find the Business and Distribution teams keep losses to themselves and only announce client wins… however small, if at all.

Another large loss in my country… I found out from around the industry and not from anyone in the company.

What will RA do next to pi$$ off their customers and distributors?

RA is taking a page out of the insurance industry playbook. "delay, deny, defend", get ready for warranty claims to be rejected at a record pace. It should go over especially well with distributors who will be on the hook if they provide a replacement prematurely.

Are we leaving DSD?

Of course Mondelez isn’t leaving dsd! Can you imagine how bad their numbers would look if all at once, all customer business teams could no longer force in 100 cases of Oreo for an end cap display that will never exist! Even when the store already has 100 cases of Oreo in back stock from the last display that never happened!
They are committed to DSD, they are stuck! Stock numbers would plummet so fast and they already aren’t looking good.

259 Layoffs - Times are tight

Last year Penny was compensated 29 Million Dollars. If each person laid off had total income of 100,000 including salary and benefits, the total cost is 25,900,000.

So if Penny took one for the team she would only made a paltry 3.1 million dollars. Granted, she wouldn't get out of bed for such a peasant salary, but in my fantasy land 259 families would be well taken care of and she would still make 12,500 a day, 62,500 a week and 250,000 a month.

Granted, never will I be in a situation where I get to pick between being elite wealthy, or just really rich. Amongst the many reasons is the fact that I could never sc--w over so many people in the pursuit of my own interests.

So often we are blinded by blind idealism that everything should be unlimited, greed is good, and that anyone who says otherwise is a Socialist. Im not that, but I am also not one that believes a handful of the lucky sp--m should make more than 259 well paid people.

We really need to start looking at the big picture instead of glorifying the people that are ra-ing and plundering cast resources for their own enrichment.

News flash, Penny doesn't, and never has given a f--- about you, me, or anyone. Penny cares about Penny's purse. Insane
