AI approval letters?
Got a very angry provider call stating they got an approval letter for a member with wrong information, like Dx Code, several kids spellings and wrong service dates. Asked manager who confirmed they started to send out AI letters upon approval.
Another BS Aetna Town Hall
They never address employee issues. Only "your feedback matters"...yeah right.
Severance pay chat
There usednto be an actual chart and I can't see to find it to see by grade, and years of service whatbthe amount of weeks your would get. Does anyone know where it is?
Texas Work Force Solutions Denials
Is WFS even taking the time to read people's requests for accommodations? They are denying people with no explanation. How many cases are being sent straight to the trash can?
Business side is as well TOXIC
In long years of working, most toxic environment. Not at all healthy or productive for anyone to join this organisation. PLEASE DON’T FALL FOR JOB OPENINGS UN THIS ORGANISATION. You will regret. Plus no promotion just politics.
Nepotism at its finest. While we lay off experienced individuals.
The Director/Manager's daughter got hired on making 65K+ as a Business Analyst with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion and no prior health care experience. When normal people don't get looked at unless you have at least 1+ of health care experience. But if you have the right last name and NO experience you can just be handed a job. NO need to work for it.
Layoffs 10/1
It seems like there were more layoffs to kick off October. Anyone know who all was affected?
10/9/25 Layoffs?
We skipped the 9/25/25 layoffs. Anyone know who all is expected to be impacted this week?
Went through several healthcare companies
They’re all terrible enterprises that only care about the bottom line, no matter the cost to clients or employees. But Optum has been, hands down, the most exhausting, mentally, physically, and emotionally. The mix of daily toxicity and uncertainty, constant ethical dilemmas, and the pressure to underserve clients has taken a real toll. I don’t know how the rest of you are coping, but I can’t seem to shake it off, even in the little free time I get.
Offer Rescinded - due to layoffs?
I was due to start with HCSC on the Dearborn side as a Claim Technician on Monday, October 6th. I received this email today:
"As you were previously informed via email on October 3rd, 2025, HCSC has rescinded your offer of employment.
This decision cannot be reviewed or appealed, and we are unable to disclose any further information.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused."
That's it. No other email, no reason why. Are the layoffs happening company-wide or specific only to the Cigna acquisition?
Ambetter
What’s going on with the Ambetter LOB?
Take pictures if you RTO
Those of you saying it is awful and filthy please snap pictures of it there are a lot of us documenting what the company is doing, their failed business practices, wanting to offshore American healthcare needs overseas to a country that is known to hack and scam people, and generally just expose what they have been doing all around. Not going to expose member data or anything that would bring harm to any one person at the top, but just bring to light how overall sh---y they are as a company. There are about 15 whistle blowers so far just waiting to post, so Filthy pictures on top of it will just add more proof this company is trash and only cares about what lines the shareholders and executives pockets. Not to mention half the staff can’t even afford the healthcare they offer.
Hazel Health Announces Layoffs
Pediatric behavioral health provider Hazel Health has laid off roughly 11% of its staff.
San Francisco-based Hazel Health works with school systems to provide virtual therapy to students. The organization, which has pursued an ambitious expansion plan in recent years, said layoffs will help the company sustain its growth trajectory as it incorporates AI and automation tools.

Summary of Healthcare Workforce Moves – September 2025
September brought a wave of executive hires, promotions, exits, and layoffs across the healthcare industry, with major names like Medtronic, Amgen, and Kaiser Permanente making leadership changes, while organizations such as Novo Nordisk and Seattle Children’s cut jobs.
Hires:
- Amgen appointed Shannon Turley as vice president of research and co-head of research biology, following her tenure at Genentech.
- enGene named Hussein Sweiti as chief medical officer, bringing experience from Astellas Pharma, where he led commercial gene therapy efforts.
- IKS Health hired Ajai Sehgal as chief AI officer. He previously served as chief data and analytics officer at Mayo Clinic.
- Kaiser Permanente brought on Craig Albanese, former CEO of Duke University Health System, as president of integrated care and coverage. His past leadership experience includes roles at NewYork-Presbyterian, Stanford Children’s Health, and UCSF Health.
- Medtronic named Adam Arthur chief medical officer of its neurovascular business. He was previously chair of neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
- Penguin Ai appointed Mark Caron as chief strategy officer. Caron has held leadership positions at Capital BlueCross, Optum Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and CHI Health.
- Spring Fertility hired Mike Michetti as CEO and Stacey Payne as chief people officer. Michetti previously held roles at Marathon Health, Highmark Health, Allegheny Health Network, Cleveland Clinic, and Mercy. Payne’s past executive experience includes Sweetgreen, SoulCycle, and Daily Harvest.
Promotions:
- Komodo Health promoted Miles Ennis to COO, following his tenure as chief revenue officer.
- Magellan Health named Steven Pratt chief medical officer, building on his long career at the company since 2007.
- Temple Health promoted Abhi Rastogi to COO and John Ryan to chief administrative officer. Ryan previously served as general counsel at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Exits:
- Ochsner Health COO Mike Hulefeld will step down at the end of 2025 after 27 years. Timothy Riddell, another longtime leader, will succeed him.
- Providence Chief Transformation Officer Sara Vaezy is leaving after nearly a decade with the organization.
Layoffs:
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is cutting fewer than 2 percent of its workforce, citing rising costs for dr-gs, labor, and supplies.
- Novo Nordisk announced it will reduce its workforce by 11 percent, or about 9,000 jobs, as competition intensifies for its GLP-1 dr-gs Ozempic and Wegovy.
- Seattle Children’s will lay off 154 employees, primarily in administrative roles, due to cuts in federal and state funding.
This mix of leadership reshuffling and workforce reductions shows a sector in flux, as health systems and life sciences companies balance growth, innovation, and financial pressure.
United BioSource Custs Staff (120+ employees)
United BioSource (UBC), a Pennsylvania-based health care technology services company, is laying off 123 employees tied to its Overland Park, Kansas, offices. The cuts include both on-site and remote workers in Kansas and Missouri.
The layoffs are scheduled to take effect around November 26, 2025, according to a notice filed with state officials. UBC has not yet commented publicly on the decision.
The company provides technology and services that support pharmaceutical and biotech companies, particularly in dr-g development and patient support programs.
Bets on healthcare premium increase…
How much are they going to gouge us for? Rumor has it costs are astronomical this year… aging workforce and all. I’m guessing a 50% increase in premiums and a cut to their HSA contributions.
What do you think?
Just being silly
Profit margins above human lives.
Policies written, lives disposed,
They stamp it cold
If you lack compassion you no longer belong in healthcare. For those who wish to make a change and got an order to RTO maybe blast a song off YouTube. The Dusty Show DDD glam version. Have it play over team meetings and for the love of god actually think bigger, this company, system and country is corrupted. Things need to change. Don’t harm anyone or burn any buildings, that shouldn’t even be said. Strike on the day of the supposed layoffs or how about every Thursday if you have enough PTO just take off.
Caring for you like family really?
So end of June my disabled son is fired from Allegheny Health Network and denied unemployment. 3 weeks short of 3 years so no PTO pay out. Nice. Thank you for caring for him like family. You claim you didn’t know he was disabled but you are a healthcare provider and it’s documented huh? So when I visit your hospital this means the service will be flawless so I look forward to my next visit.
Corporate offices or any office RTO
Are RTO just corporate offices they are looking at or any sales agency/clinic location?
Forcing Centerwell Mail order pharmacy
The robotic and daily repetitive nature of pushing Centerwell Pharmacy enrollment and the talking points is abnormal. If I didn’t know better, I would think Blagg was AI. The only response is a blank face and talking points. Daily call back delays. But wait! Talking points! Emails every day -talking points. Meetings to repeat you guessed it talking points. All the talking points in the world will not fix that CW pharmacy su-ks A-S and no one wants to use it. Why not eliminate it and save that money instead of spouting some bs that it prevents hospitalizations. PDMRs prevent hospitalizations. Not inept mail order pharmacies.
Medicaid fraud and anti-kickback statutes
Medicaid fraud and anti-kickback definitions 100% say it’s a crime and fraud to engage in bribery to sway referrals to increase a company’s healthcare reimbursement from the government. I don’t see how the centerwell bs couldnt fall into this category…
And their super specific disclaimer everyone has to say makes me feel like they know what they are doing and are trying to cover their a— to avoid yet another lawsuit.
I want to make an anonymous report but seems like there’s no guarantee to remain anonymous especially if they pursue it. I still work here and am trying to get out but scared to make a report until I can get out. Anyone else have the stones to??
They are so sketch. With all the suits they’ve been involved in all of this should keep coming out!! Higher ups are taking so much away from the most vulnerable people in this country. They’re making millions while the people they serve can’t afford to eat and are going homeless. Over my five years I have seen such an increase in people unable to afford basic things in life. Can’t tell me this isnt directly affecting the suic— crisis in this country… they deserve to go under and its just a matter of time

Medicaid Layoffs
3 directors laid off in TX (to my knowledge.) What's the overall status, and what areas of Medicaid are to be affected? Executing layoffs during IL RFP is just a poor move.
Any upcoming layoffs for HBMC
Will there be any layoffs at optum at home/care at home?
PBM Lost Amazon Contract
All the other services have been on a downtrend, now it looks like the PBM side is being impacted. Doesn't seem like Evernorth is trying very hard to maintain its growth. With them already announcing that they're building "offshore campuses" a few months back seems like they'll be cutting a lot of people soon.
More layoffs next Month +
Layoffs already took place on 9/18, with more planned in 4–6 weeks and again in January—confirmed by someone in HR. The company is steadily offshoring more and more jobs from the US to India, unless a contractual agreement requires the role to remain in the US. For those not billing their time to projects, it’s only a matter of time. This organization is going downhill fast, and it’s disheartening. I honestly wish the government would step in—this is a US healthcare company, yet they’re outsourcing our jobs offshore to people who have no real investment here.
Wave News — Brian Schlonsky Troubleshooters
If you believe that Humana is doing something that is outright unethical, a person I suppose could consider contacting Brian Schlonsky at Wave News in Louisville KY.
He has a news journal investigative piece called Troubleshooters that he took over for John Boels who retired from Wave News.
Anyone else notice all the leaders at an on site this week?
I noticed a lot of leaders are at an on site this week. I also noticed Ben Line moved over to Optum on Sparq, but they haven’t announced it officially yet… This is for UHC Ops. anyone know what’s going on? Should we expect layoffs soon with all of this hush hush business going on?
Forbes List of Companies with the Best Culture - Cigna is...
#499!
https://www.forbes.com/lists/employers-culture/
So much for the "employer of choice" part of the Drive to '25.
Who's getting fired for this disgraceful showing?
Training department layoffs
Today, myself and several of my colleagues in Learning and development were laid off in a round of “reorg.” This was the third reorg in 3 years. They had announced a reorg over a month ago, but when executives were asked about layoffs during a meeting, they evaded the question. Today, they also refused to disclose how many people were affected.
This company is absurd. Every October, they conduct layoffs. The executives should be the ones laid off.
Im still waiting to hear about the severance package. Anyone know?
9/25/25 Layoffs
Anyone know who all is expected to be impacted this week.
Very interesting how the dates are late in the month for September and October.
Good luck everyone!
Get out!
This company, like all healthcare companies, DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! Their ONLY concern is how much money they can rake in! They are not here to serve their members, just their shareholders so Gail can make her $20 million +!
ACA Rebates
Ouch, that gotta hurt. Centene to pay $1 billion dollars in rebates back to ACA Missouri policyholders. Sting.
Onshore/Offshore
Kind of funny. Many "onshore" employees working at Medical Solutions are from Omaha, Nebraska. Not a shore to be seen. Middle of the United States. 🤦♀️
Imagine if UHG and Optum simply announced upcoming layoffs internally on SPARQ instead.
A month ahead of the RIF, just give everyone a heads up on which orgs will be affected. That way people can budget accordingly and the rumor mill doesn't cause worry and panic across the organization.
And, we could tamp down on false rumors that people outside of the organization are reading.
Let’s hope it stops here
These cuts will deeply affect both staff and patients, and the last thing anyone needs right now is a decline in the quality of care. I feel for all the colleagues who will be impacted - it’s heartbreaking. And honestly, even for those of us who stay, the strain and uncertainty ahead won’t be easy to carry.
