As of today, 2/18/2026, several Director level and above were laid off in DFW, Clinic Ops. Invitations were emailed for a “Leadership Touchbase” tomorrow morning. One invitation is for 7:45 a.m. and the other is for 8:00 a.m. For those who have made it through multiple layoffs over the past 3 years, we know what those two invitations mean. Additional clinic consolidations have already been announced, and the entire DFW market will soon only consist of about 40 Primary Care clinics. Fewer clinics means fewer employees. This is a last ditch effort to slow the bleeding before WellMed goes belly up.

I'd say this is Wellmed s last year in TX. Most of the talent has gone to Conviva in the last 2 months
How does this info get leak 😔 so sad
That's how it started for the Houston market last yr 2025. First set of lay-offs were from the higher up, then bo-m 💥 it all went downhill from that. Wellmed Clinics started getting close left and right. Then they played their cards good saying not everyone will be affected and ma's will have secured jobs with optum. Yeah right a big slap on the face. Houston market disappeared immediately andalot of staff were left with no secure jobs with optum. Good luck to the Dallas- Forth Worth market!
I received news that a very talented mid manager, Director of Clinical Ops is part of the cut. That's an Optum Care at Home employee though.. Nurses from branched teams have been invited to an all teams meeting tomorrow 02/20. To be continued.
All I can say is that senior leaders failed us and this enterprise if WellMed goes "Belly Up". The writing was on the wall 3 years ago. They should have prepared for the changes in reimbursement better. This is a disaster.
