CEO/CTO Connection from Alviria

Interesting, I did not realize there was a connection between Patrick Dennis and David Funck from Alviria where Patrick Dennis was CEO and David Funck was CTO. Things are starting to make a lot more sense now.

(based on Gemini queries)

Patrick Dennis:
Based on the available information, Patrick Dennis served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Alvaria, Inc. from 2021 to 2/2022.

Prior to that, he was President & CEO of Aspect Software (which merged with Noble Systems to form Alvaria) from 2019 to 2021.

Patrick Dennis started as Chairman of the Board at Avaya in 2023.

The role began when the company emerged from its recapitalization in May 2023.

David Funck:
David Funck was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Alvaria.

While the exact start and end years are not specified in the available snippets, it is confirmed that:

He served as CTO at Alvaria.

He was noted as Alvaria Chief Technology Officer in an article dated Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Alvaria's launch date was in 2021 (formed from the merger of Aspect Software and Noble Systems).

He later joined Avaya as Chief Architect and then became their CTO.

The exact month David Funck began as CTO of Alvaria is not explicitly stated, but the information suggests his tenure in that specific role started close to the company's formation:

Alvaria was formed by the merger of Aspect Software and Noble Systems, which was announced on May 10, 2021.

David Funck had previously been a technology leader at Aspect Software for 20 years, and served as Chief Technology Officer there.

He is listed on Alvaria's subsequent leadership teams as the Chief Technology Officer.

Given that Alvaria was formed in May 2021 and he was already the CTO of the merging entity, Aspect Software, it is highly likely he transitioned into the role of CTO for the newly formed Alvaria around May 2021.

The available information states that David Funck was the CTO of Edify and joined Avaya through the acquisition of Edify, which was closed in May of 2024.

The specific start year for his tenure as CTO of Edify is not provided in the context, but his time in the role would have ended in May 2024.

Some nerve!

Reducing our paycheck amounts in 2026 with this 27 week pay period non-sense, increasing our out-of-pocket health care expenses and still pushing us to buy EH stock because nobody else wants it??? Seriously Executives, stick your head out of your million and billion dollar bubbles and see how everyone else is trying to survive with the low merit increases and next to nothing AIPs now. Buy EH stock with what??? We don't have anything left at the end of the month after we pay our bills thanks to the C suite pocketing all of the company profits.

Good Riddance Mikey

Just a counter all the Brown nose posts that are now occurring on LinkedIn saying how beautiful and wonderful Mikey is. He's not. He's run the company into the ground and made the stupid decision to hand over all the executive positions to legacy sprint people who couldn't find their back side with a radar set.

They made us RTO all the while knowing about layoffs

The layoffs were in the works for months and the execs certainly knew about it. And yet, Prat and Rick still decided to call us all back to the office on their arbitrary timeline, upend our lives and schedules, and scramble for desk space. All to lay off people mere weeks later. Do they get a sick enjoyment out of controlling us like puppets or are they just really bad at decision making?

Imagine that

More new executive hires. SunTruist changes leadership in various areas like dirty socks. We are now spending millions to try and get back the wholesale payments and business they three years ago didn’t give a damn about. This circus needs a bigger tent!

"Paramount Skydance Hires Roku’s Jay Askinasi as Chief Revenue Officer" Variety

"Paramount Skydance has recruited Jay Askinasi, most recently Roku’s top advertising exec, as chief revenue officer.

Askinasi will start at Paramount Nov. 3, dual-reporting to CEO David Ellison and president Jeff Shell. According to the company, the CRO position is a newly created role “designed to lead the company’s monetization strategy and strengthen its long-term positioning as a next-generation media company” and to push toward a unified advertising platform. John Halley remains in his role as president of Paramount Advertising, reporting to Askinasi."

CFO Quote Is so infuriating

This quote angers me so much:

“It won’t be anything special,” Chief Financial Officer Dominik Asam told the German newspaper Handelsblatt, saying the annual job reductions are “like brushing your teeth.”

It shows arrogance and lack of empathy of the CFO. These cuts mean so much to everyone affected by them. And even to those not directly affected. It affects the community of SAP immensely.

Analysts don’t believe our chief people officer either

I’m personal friends with some of the longstanding analyst community and today we are hosting our analyst briefings in Mexico. Ajay absolutely embarrassed himself from what they told me and now they question our long term product strategy. This guy is ki-ling us! He even threw up a slide that pretty much said that we had zero talent to begin with and are only beginning our next generation development after hiring a few of his handpicked people. I was told he was blubbering over and over and not making any sense. Can he be removed already!!!

Take this rubbish Chief Product Officer away

Nothing to say that has not been posted here already. spoke with him on multiple occasions. this guy is a joke. lot of blatant lies on his linkedin profile too. not much of a career trajectory either. mid level PM to getting kicked out of adobe to being jobless for a couple years to landing this job. his connections in the board got him here. pity.

Interesting little tidbit getting lost in the news

Not just a new CEO, but Sycamore also named a new EXECUTIVE chairman John L. For those unaware an executive chairman has more power and authority than a regular chairman of the board. Executive chairman has a lot more say over day to day operations of a company. And essentially the CEO reports to the executive chairman. Plus like most boards they tend to operate behind the scenes, as opposed to more out front like a CEO. Get ready for virtually no transparency. Plus on a side note, no mention of Stefano's role in the new company.

Hans seems completely disconnected

It is frustrating to watch decisions come from the top with no clue about what the teams face every day. Hans and upper leadership seem unaware of the actual workload and challenges on the ground. No wonder we all feel drained when their expectations are ridiculous.

Finance Cutting Executives by 50% by 2030

Finance oversubscribed, and reducing number of executives dramatically by 2030. Significant pressure to reduce potential of younger staff. Although has been happening for few years now, more pressure again this year. I had executive potential 2 years ago, recently told no longer executive potential, not competitive. Many with executive potential last year will lose this year.... but interning MBAs who will surely become future executives.... hmmm Ask you manager!! Most wont volunteer this information on your potential change but will communicate if directly asked.

Ops leadership

I can’t believe the whole ops leadership is from Roger’s communications and they are the worst leaders possible trying to be top dog creating duplication and headaches as if they know what the heck we all do. Better yet some have been here 5 months and already getting promotions to SR roles, yet the people that have been here for years working their butts off can’t get a raise. Idk how HR doesn’t see that

What exactly does Sandy do?

Apart from reading off her AI generated slide shows with cartoon characters?

Everyone else has informative slides and are not reading off their slides, they're providing more depth to the information provided and showcasing how they're leading (or attempting to do literally anything). And then we have Sandy reading off her badly formatted slideshow that she pretends took a week to make when in reality it took ChatGPT all of 10 seconds to make.

Is she like an executive cheerleader? Like honestly.

Now that Mark got kicked out the door there's nobody to protect her role, she's probably in line to get fired and replaced with a person who actually does something.
