Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Executive board DEI layoffs!

Because of pressure from the US administration, SAP stopped most DEI programs in 2025. And now, two. Executive Board members will “step down” or “not renew contracts”.

Gina is a woman and was compassionate towards trans employees so she’s gone. We will not see a female executive board member for a long long time.

Alam is a person of color and not a Christian. He is gone as well. We will not see a person of color or a non-Christian in the executive board anytime soon.

In any case, LGBT members never make it to important positions within SAP so we won’t see them in the executive board either.

They needed Gina only to bring performance management and destroy most of the employee benefits. And they needed Alam to initiate multiple reorganizations after Juergen Müller was given the boot.

What changes do you think will happen in teams now? Will they only consider white Christian males for leadership roles from now on? And what about LGBT employees? Is SAP starting a program to remove all migrant employees in Germany? The demands from the US administration are pretty straightforward and the SAP board has done nothing but comply.

@mp But we can use joule for developers to port it to a modern stack of c/rap and ditch the legacy

@cp that's also never going to happen because SAP have nothing Microsoft want. Nobody would willingly buy a company where all the profits generated are built upon fking ABAP. 😂

@cg what does that even mean? American right wing are obsessed with dei... But in reality it's literally a non-issue.

No they bought JW and MA in because they wanted Microsoft people in SAP. Our company has had this long fantasy of being bought out by Microsoft. But I say keep dreaming because EU governments won't allow that to happen. We are far too important. And sadly infatuated about this longing for Microsoft status.

@cd In other words. You lump people together based on negative stereotypes while also supporting DEI. You can't even stand by your own principles. Don't expect others to.

You weirdos on here are obsessed with and terrified of DEI... It's not anything worth worrying about.

I assume you are just Yankee Doodles bringing your domestic, political moral panics to everything.

@ak I'm not sure why you're making fun of him for saying "skillets" considering half the company is on pot. It's justified. But still.

This post is framed as if it were written by a DEI advocate trying to shame SAP into adopting it.

For example, you frame Gina as being "compassionate" towards trans people which is positive sounding but you approach it with a negative tone. This makes it look like people who are against DEI are against compassion. It's a textbook word game. Many of us who are against DEI have no issue with the groups the DEI pretends to represent. We simply feel that hiring should be based on things like experience, education, and effort.

Don’t feed a troll. In a lame attempt to stir the pot, he actually made it clear himself that those appointments and shifts had nothing to do with DEI policies, but with initiating reorgs and stripping employee’s benefits.

And again the postings dive into negativity and hatred.

Can't we do any better?

“Hiring and promotions should be based on skillets and merit”. How are we to judge the merits of our skillets? I’m assuming that they’ll need to be made in the USA? Other criteria? Construction? Brand? Materials?

I really need to know because I’m finding out about my raise tomorrow morning. I want to be sure that I am waving the perfect frying pan around, whilst spouting off about my aggrieved White Christian Male status and demanding that my salary be increased! Fu---n’ id--t!

The reason sap is not making money is because of DEI . Hiring and promotions should be based on skillets and merit . Not by color , gender or disability . This is a for profit company not a non profit company .
