Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Retiring

Over the past year, I have made dozens of posts on The Layoff with ways our company needs to improve. Even though there has been some progress, it is not enough. Disastrous decisions have caused me my retiree health care and froze my pension. I’ve been underpaid for years as many other employees have been. Meanwhile, an inept overpaid Board and high flying Executive VPs and RVPs have benefitted quite nicely. It’s ALL about them. It’s a well orchestrated Ponzi Scheme. I am sick of this place and it has made me ill. I wish all of you the best and in a few weeks it will be my last day after 20 plus years. Time to spend the end of days with my grandbabies and good riddance to Mutual of America.

@1ev i used the men’s room the other day and the toilet paper in the stalls is like single ply Scotts. Dirt cheap. I am going to bring my own roll over 3 ply Charmin in.

@1h8 i actually just got shi$ canned in the CX area & someone who has done absolutely nothing for over 5 yrs & is the biggest BSArtist in the entire complex just got promoted. All talk. No action. Complete waste of space & she has done nothing to overall the website.

@1ev when people talk in the new office at Yomoto Rd, you could be hear clear across the room. Me hopes the walls don't have asbestos and they have hired a good exterminator like the Orkin man.

Congratulations on your retirement: I had been at 1150 for 21 years, then jumped before I could be pushed out.

@wg mehdi said the new office was nicer but the walls are paper thin and there is no privacy. it's not nicer & no way to replace the mutual cafeteria.

@OP good luck to you and thanks for the dozens of meaningful posts. You should run for the board or to replace Mamdami.

Upcoming Boca retiree here. Can't stand the new office set up down here. It's cold and the set up is kinda dumpy. You say Tomato. I say Tomatto. You say Yamato I say Yamatto. Tomato, Tommatto, Yamato, Yamatto, let's all go out and have lunch (at Taco Bell)

when I got demoted from RVP to a C.R.M. 2 yrs ago, it was devastating to my psyche. Super depressing. But, at least I still had a job. It took the wind out of my sales entirely I'd admit that. I saw other RVPs who remained in their positions even though their numbers were worse than mine but they were best friends with the Executive VPs. We women RVPs lost out & it because an all boys club. That's when i decided that it was time to go. So, I retired last Fall with $2.5M in benefits. No healthcare but I can shell out $10K a year.
