Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Executives leaving

Two of our executives have recently announced they are departing PNC. One is our Corporate Responsibility Officer and the other is our Chief Information Security Officer. Though we may never know the real reason they are leaving, I find it very ironic that they have both put in their notice shortly before the mandatory five day return to office takes affect.

They are two very highly respected Individuals and it’s sad to see them both leaving. Great talent write out the door.

Thoughts or opinions??

Eh. I never read too much into these. People come and go based on opportunities that turn up. There are bigger companies with bigger salaries than ours, so I just wait to see where they turn up next. That usually tells you more.

Our corporate responsibility officer leaving is a huge loss! He’s been with the bank a long time, and everyone likes him. He is a good seed and it is beyond sad to hear that he is leaving. I wish he would reconsider. I can’t imagine him not being part of PNC any longer.

I expect more executives and upper management to drop off the sinking ship.

Great leaders often leave if they disagree with upcoming plans. For example, streamlining security processes that invoke more risk; The CISO may not want to sign her name to that. Additionally, when org changes (reorgs, cuts, offshoring, etc) are shoved down, leaders may not want to be part of that s**tshow. I don't blame them if this is the case. I also am not saying this is the case. Just something I have seen before at other organizations.
