SHOCKER - Another Round of Layoffs on 3/27/2026.

The post-acquisition 'micro-layoffs' are the gift that keeps on giving. Another 50 souls sacrificed to the gods of 'restructuring'—because apparently, a business model that doesn’t change every 90 days is just bad feng shui. It’s truly inspiring to watch a 'could’ve been' company turn into a 'never was,' though I’m relieved to see the Boys’ Club is still safely tucked away in their treehouse.

Chevron's Main Strength

Just wanted to share something thats been on my mind lately from the people side of things. Its been really eye-opening to see how the We Lead behaviors and our DEI principles reinforce each other so perfectly in day to day operations. They just click together in a way that makes everything flow better.

During last years adjustments, it was cool to watch DEI keep things inclusive while our leaders stepped up with clear direction. They made sure every voice was heard, kept teams aligned, and didnt leave anyone behind. No one felt sidelined even when things were tight. Whos to say it wouldve gone as smooth without that combo?

Now that were on the other side, priorities feel way clearer and theres this stronger focus on belonging. Cross functional collaboration has way less friction, and engagement scores are noticeably higher in my area. The combination really creates that shared purpose and builds operational resilience thats genuinely energizing.
Chevrons culture feels special because of this stuff, and its one of the main reasons Im excited to stick around long term. We came out of that tough cycle stronger and even more diverse as an organization. Pretty awesome to see in action.

Anyone else noticing similar things in your teams? Especially curious to hear examples from the field or ops side how its playing out there. Would love to swap stories!

RETURN TO OFFICE

So why is it that some people feel this does not apply to them. Don't get me wrong. I was wfh the majority of the last 2 years, but I enjoy seeing my coworkers in person. There are entire offices and teams that dont come in even though this was a mandate from Global. Cameron and others, get your cr-p together. If you are going to enforce it than it should apply to everyone within a proximity of an office. While I enjoy being in the office, I am tired of being asked by others "why am I in the office, you are making us look bad" . Its not my fault your boss thinks shes special and these rules dont apply. I am just trying to do my job and keep it.

Speaking of scandals

Remember around 2020-21 When a certain VP got fired for letting her son resell Nike shoes in bulk that were purchased on her corporate credit card... I didn't realize she changed her name and is now the CEO of Footlocker. Talk about failing upwards

Qualcomm is so unfriendly to new employees

My first week was just me sitting around trying to piece things together on my own. No training, no point of contact, just outdated documents that don't match anything we actually do. People keep assuming I know systems I've never even seen. It set such a bad tone right from the start.

Golden Parachute

SB didn't get what he deserved, quite the opposite.

He has a golden parachute, which only pays out reliably IF/WHEN the company isn't in CH 7 or 11. Parachutes get trimmed down, and sometimes eliminated entirely in bankruptcy.

They didn't throw him out a window, they put him in a life raft. He'll get paid out, and after that, look for CH11. IF anyone here read up on his nonsense agreement and knows what the payout timeline is, please chime in. That is a good indicator of when they might be filing.
