I’ve been at Chevron less than a year

To say I'm unhappy with how things turned out would be an understatement. I've been looking for the past few months and a few leads are looking promising. I'm worried though about leaving this soon looking bad on a resume. Is it better to switch now than stick around for a while for the future?


What’s going on with the Leap program?

Looks like at minimum, 2 Leap technical coaches were let go. As a former Leap Alumni, this is sad to see happen to the program that gave me my one way ticket into tech.

Does anyone know what’s going on with the Leap program? Have Leap alumni performances been improving? How much Leap alumni have been retained after an 5/10 year period? Is Fidelity hiring less Leap associates? Is Fidelity restructuring the learning criteria of Leap?

I, along with other Leap alumni, may have many more questions.


What’s going on with PSGs?

I’ve heard from a few people that PSGs are being suppressed and advancing to 25 and higher will be much less common than before. I feel long overdue for a promotion (both in performance, % CO, expanded role, and time) but am not getting much support for even consideration. Am I capped out?


Change how you think about job searching

I stopped obsessing over salary and focused on finding something that actually interested me and let me grow my skills. Starting over isn’t easy, and I knew that going in, but the constant stress disappeared almost immediately. I’m learning new things, branching out in my field, and not dreading every workday. That alone has made the move worth it. It’s been a real breath of fresh air.


Thank you Dell for laying me off

You know how they say “it’s a blessing in disguise”? That’s what a layoff at Dell is. It’s a blessing actually.
If you want actual work, growth, no-nonsense culture, it’s better to run away from Dell.
Recently I joined a new company after my layoff and I am so happy with my work now. I actually have some growth opportunity .


Should I join state street?

I'm told I will get an offer next week. It will be at MD level, in audit. Would I regret it? I have a pretty good setup where I am. Pay would jump a good bit but I would lose my comfort and I don't want to come over if the place is in constant layoff fear. I know how that poisons the culture from a past employer.


Auditor for coding pay. Layoffs?

I’m in coding and there is a coding auditor role open that I’m applying for. Can anyone share their pay amount if they are in this role. I am a coder for family practice at 36.53 (75k). I saw some posts about recent layoffs so not sure if that’s why this is open.

Remote promotions

I’m curious with the changes to remote if I would still be eligible to move up in my role to the next job grade. As of 2025 I was able to. I know a new position all together would be hub only.

Also, can a remote employee still earn an extraordinary performance?

Any managers or HR here that can share insights please?


Offer from Aramco - is it worth it?

Hi all. Been reading this forum while interviewing with Aramco and obviously the situation doesn’t look very promising. But I wanted to ask anyway even if to confirm my negative bias.
I’m in my early 30s, married, no kids. I live and work in Europe earning low 6 digits. I very quickly got to a place where further career progression is very difficult and even if achieved would mean a salary increase incomparable with the increase in hours and responsibilities. I don’t want to say the exact area just in case Aramco HR reads this forum.
The offer is in the 200-300k range. Net it will more than double my salary most likely. I’ll also spend a lot less because I live in probably the most expensive city in Europe where rent is crazy. Most people in the team (including the line manager) are either American or European. The plan would be to stay for a few years, save aggressively and come back to Europe. I know that life is Saudi is strange but I’m sure I’ll be able to survive a few years reading books, playing PS5 and travelling to Europe for holidays a few times a year. I understand that it’s possible for family to visit which would make things easier for me. I also think that in my area Aramco would look pretty good on the resume, and there’s actually an area in which I can grow professionally in Aramco simply because it’s part of the job.

Is this a realistic view given my goal and current position, or am I missing something?

I'm a current wells fargo employee within risk in Minneapolis who is looking to jump the stagecoach. The amount of layoffs, lack of salary increases, and overall team morale is getting to be too much.

Is US bank worth looking at or is it really bad there as well?

Why is it that at Nike, career progress seems to depend more on playing office politics than actual work? I've noticed that merit has very little influence, while understanding how to navigate relationships and kiss the right butts is critical for anyone looking to move up. How can that be considered a good thing?


Hopeful stories after layoffs

I was thinking recently about a few folks who were cut last year and ended up landing on their feet in surprising ways. One started freelancing and now earns more with half the stress, and another moved abroad and rebuilt her whole routine. Knowing examples like that helps me see that losing a job is not the end of the road. Knowing full well I might be next, hearing about real wins keeps me grounded. Any sign that life can turn in a better direction helps right now.


Talent Upleveling - Compounding Problem

One problem Nike has that doesn't get discussed enough is how they are so reluctant to promote people anymore. The promotions wave after this round of layoffs is hardly what it should have been when you stretch that over years of time that they froze nearly all promotions.

It's a self-defeating circle: do nothing to advance people, let them get TOO expert in their roles that they get bored, productivity suffers, now they have a case to lay you off because you deliver "poor quality work". Sure, not everyone gets a promotion, but we routinely see people complain on here about how few people ever got a promotion, and how many talented hard working people have left over the past 5 years.

Did any of these incompetent imbeciles ever stop and think about that spiral of enshittification? They must know this cycle is of their own making and is a key reason why talent that remains are in such a weird place.
