Do Hi-Pos know that they are that or can you just infer from roles you get. If you are told are you informed about career objective or other things. Curious as to how this works. Sponsor, mentor, other related things?
Surest way to tell is whether you’ve been assigned a true senior executive mentor. Anything less and they are just playing you. Too many people fall for it when they get a few good early jobs, but if you’re not HiPo your careee is dead already,. Like Bruce Willis, you just don’t know it yet.

Some HiPos are worthy.
A HiPo gets ranked at very top of rank group without any effort and sometimes without any knowledge of their current job. Even complete catastrophes created by a HiPo get covered up.
The flaw in the Executive development system is that there is no off ramp where a chosen HiPo can be dropped due to incurable arrogance or complete incompetence. There is incredible resistance for Sponsors to admit mistakes and drop a HiPo.
Some are very good at something or atleast management believes in investing in them. Be careful around them as some have proven to be very good at crippling careers
Stands for High Potential. People get marked high potential and have a very different career than the average employee.
You’ll find out soon enough, just watch and absorb young padawan.

@OP mentor is assigned to every one (experienced/campus) hires. Avoid them as they claim all your work and sabotage your career to go up the ladder
