Must improve our teamwork!!

The best direction from above this week is we need to work better as a TEAM!! From the same people who demand that everyone on that team be split into specific categories by specific percentages where some of them must be rated as needs improvement regardless of how that team performed. LMAO, that's the way to get people to work together. I used to feel like I was part of a team, now it is everyone for themselves, not the bigger goal, just survive another layoff.

Teams culture

The culture that we are getting into right now with teams, and these group pings is absurd. They say it takes 20 minutes to refocus after you’ve been distracted… these silly group pins and constant teams alerts on pinging are so unproductive and frustrating. Just send us an email! Not to mention things keep getting lost in different variations of group groups that are pinging so I literally can’t keep up.

I’m so over teams and all the obnoxious features that come with it that destroy my productivity.

If we're failing, let's fail consistently

My gut feeling is they don't know what they are doing and are just trying another model that will also fail. There are so many groups to all running around "getting alignment" with each other that they fail to just get the work done. They could be driving right off a cliff and all they would worry about is if they are doing it consistently across teams with shared components.

@ac+1kr3jt5gv makes a great point.

The Old Badge Switcheroo

Me and the boys completed our first week of the old badge switcheroo. It was a wild success!

We take turns holding everyone else's badges. Then, the one holding the badges goes into the office and scans everybody else in. It works like a charm!

Now, each of us only goes in once per week!

We are already talking about ways to make it better. We are open to your ideas!

You have to laugh at the ineptitude!

We already had a culture of “every employee for himself” thanks to stack-ranking (based on dubious criteria) and other shenanigans.

Adding the constant threat of layoffs isn’t going to make people more collaborative and more willing to share information. You have to laugh at the ineptitude of whoever came up with this strategy! It’s like shooting yourself in the foot because it was hurting.

Unreal Communication

I’m a new director to Honeywell (4 months). I’m completely shocked my the lack of professionalism and communication skills. People don’t respond to meeting invites, ignore email, read texts/don’t respond and don’t call back. Free for all. The folks at the site only do what they want, no partnership with corporate functional leaders. Why has the culture devolved to this?

Leadership Conundrum

In most organizations, you will typically find two groups of people. Those that are desperate to lead and those that are not interested in leading. Most times, your best leaders are in the latter group. The question is, how do you convince the latter group to want to lead?

RTO is working.

Return to office, a fresh new start,
A chance to reconnect, to share, to spark.
The hum of voices, ideas in flight,
Collisions of minds that just feel right.

No more the silence of screens alone,
But laughter and teamwork, fully grown.
Quick chats that turn into something more,
Innovation waiting behind each door.

Morning routines with purpose and pace,
Seeing determination on every face.
A shared momentum, a collective drive,
Where goals feel closer, ambitions thrive.

So here’s to the days we gather again,
Colleagues as more than names on a screen.
Together we build, create, and inspire
In the office glow, we rise even higher.

This place would run so much better if people actually worked together

What happened to this place? We used to collaborate, now it’s every team for itself. No one shares anything, everyone hoards information like it gives them an edge. Do people actually think that’s going to protect them or get them ahead? Is this seriously where we are now?

Intel has changed so much

After they cut so many people, the team dynamics are completely different. Nobody really collaborates anymore, everyone just sticks to their own stuff, at least in my area. The shared ownership we used to have is gone. It's changed how we all interact and not for the better. It's just a completely different company these days.

Friday thought

There is a pattern of behavior where the individual keeps project teams siloed and separated, while expecting everyone to remain aware of all activities. At the same time, information is selectively hidden within teams, creating confusion and lack of transparency.

Communication is often done in Hindi, which can exclude some team members from fully understanding discussions. The individual also appears to influence people to report directly to him, positioning himself as a central point of control. When status updates are requested, he tends to protect those who report to him, which encourages more people to align with him for safety.

Conversely, those who do not report to him are often put in a negative light—either blamed, overlooked, or set up in ways that impact their performance or perception. There are instances where opinions are shaped against certain individuals, affecting their growth, ratings, and opportunities. Senior leadership responsibilities such as supporting, mentoring, and enabling team success are not being fulfilled consistently.

This environment has led to decreased trust, lack of collaboration, and has been a contributing factor in multiple team members choosing to leave.

Genuinely curious

Noticing a pattern lately where a lot of the heavy lifting gets done by individual contributors, and then the narrative shifts upward when it’s time to present outcomes.

Genuinely curious—why does this keep happening, especially at the D and SVP levels? Is it visibility, communication gaps, or something more structural?

Would be great to hear how others have seen this handled (or fixed) in their orgs.

Get someone else to host your call

If you can't pause your sniffling long enough to stay something, or mute your mic fast enough so that everyone else on the call doesn't have to hear it. Seriously, offload that responsibility until you are no longer forcing the entire call to hear you sniff every 10 seconds.

Great news team! Everything is going fantastic 🚀📈 We absolutely love and value our employees ❤️ (especially the ones still on the org chart this week) and remain deeply committed to our people, culture, and synergy™ 🤝✨

Most importantly, we’re thrilled to continue delivering the best-in-class products and services to our amazing customers 📱🌎—because nothing says innovation like another exciting plan refresh and a new fee that unlocks even more value 💡💰

Keep bringing your questions to the AMA! Transparency is our priority… as long as the questions are submitted in advance, pre-reviewed, and aligned with the narrative 📝😉

A REAL message to Abby from Gen Z

This isn’t to be negative or to drag Fidelity Abby or the company as a whole. As a younger employee I certainly didn’t get to enjoy the Ned times, by the time I joined the green line was fading away as the main marketing tactic. Nonetheless, Fidelity allowed me to transform my life from being homeless to being a successful young licensed entrepreneur. The skills I learned and the people I worked with provided value to me that is unlike any other. It was an honor to work in the branch during the growth phase and see the success of the new associates. There was change but the one thing that always stayed the same was that fidelity was home it was family it was great. We all talked up the company because we really believed in it. At some point over the last year, people have stopped singing the praises of the green machine. I watched what was once a great branch full of culture and teamwork turn into a place of fear. Sure some people work harder than others but none of us were slackers. The fear has caused everyone to keep to themselves and that is resulting in accusations that we do not want to contribute.

THE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO HELP CLIENTS ARE FIDELITY. As someone who talks to clients all day long, trust me when I say they want the old fidelity back and so do the employees!!!!!

Leadership vs Management

It baffles me why anyone is using the term “Leadership” followed by the description of what a lead, boss, manager, or executive is. It has been several years or more since I have seen a true Leader here. Unfortunately, those that were or could be have been stifled. Their voice and empowerment silenced, unable to lead due to the constraints imposed by management and executives.

Reminder of what Leadership is…

LEADERSHIP is the ability to influence, inspire, and guide individuals or teams toward achieving a common goal, often by fostering collaboration, motivation, and positive change. It is a set of behaviors—not just a title—focused on setting direction, building trust, and unlocking team potential to navigate challenges.

Optum Insight Viva Engage Post

“This February, something big is coming. A moment that reminds us why coming together matters, and why our work has meaning far beyond the walls we walk through each day.

On Feb. 25 at 9:00 a.m. CT, we gather for our first Optum Insight Town Hall of 2026. Picture the feeling right before the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The lights lower. The music builds. Teams from around the world step forward with one mission, one goal and one shared purpose.

That’s us.

As one global team, we will come together to celebrate who we are and what we stand for. Trust. Discipline. Teamwork. The power of many moving with one shared purpose.

This year will demand focus, courage, and collaboration. This Town Hall is our rallying point. Our chance to reconnect. To look ahead. To feel the energy of what we can accomplish together.

Get ready. The spotlight is warming. The music is rising. And our story for 2026 is about to begin.”

The writing’s on the wall. That’s all, folks.

RTO has been Tough – Feeling Isolated

After years of productive remote work, I was dragged back to the dog bone farm, and let me tell you, it’s been a total letdown.
All I see are groups of people clustering together, chatting away in their own language, and yapping on their phones right in the middle of work hours. Meanwhile, the rest of us are trying to focus and get stuff done, but the constant noise and exclusionary vibe is overwhelming.
It’s disappointing and downright discouraging. How are we supposed to collaborate or feel like a team when it’s all cliques and distractions? Anyone else dealing with this?

Week 1 RTO

Morale is trash. Collaboration did not magically appear. Engagement is still imaginary.

That one remote day wasn’t a “perk.” It was the only day people could handle doctor follow-ups and real-life admin that only exists during business hours. Apparently that was too much autonomy.

Now we’re all back, paying for snacks and sodas that aren’t even stocked, drying our hands on air because there are no paper towels, and playing musical chairs with conference rooms because no one books them. Had to kick someone out of a room for my own meeting. Peak teamwork.

Nothing says “we value our people” like taking away flexibility, providing fewer basics, and expecting gratitude. I feel so engaged. I feel so motivated. I feel absolutely compelled to give more than the bare minimum.

If productivity drops, good. If people disengage, expected. If turnover spikes, deserved.

You wanted butts in seats. Congrats.
You got bodies. You lost trust.

Thoughts on a "one book office."

With the push for FAs to share office space, there are FA teams merging to combine AUM into one-book partnerships. All of the "book" will be evenly divided among each FA.

What will the success rate be of these partnerships?

Does EJ have all of the partnership arrangements worked out (legalities) or have these situations been patched together (which is a possibility because management is discombobulated, to say the least)?

I've heard of one branch that has 4 "partners."
2 veteran FAs, an AFA and a brand new college graduate that hasn't passed testing yet (already considered a partner and included in talks).

Curious what the success rate of a set up like this might be? Family members sharing a book sounds like it could be successful, but with 4 distinct unrelated individuals (friends) sharing a book......I am skeptical on the success rate.

Curious what your opinions are on this new EJ drive to "share one book" equally among FAs."

Would enjoy hearing your thoughts on this matter.

Teams Calls Between Dallas and the Field

Why is it that every Teams meeting with the mothership has 9 people in Dallas who weren't on the original invite? I mean there are 4 on the invite and 13 show up.

They have no idea what's going on, they don't need to be there, and they ki-l the meeting result by asking ridiculously stupid questions. It's like the kid on the PeeWee football or Little League team that never got into the game jumping into a mud puddle to look like they played.

And yes, there ARE stupid questions.
