ASDB Approves Campus Relocation and Staff Reductions
The Arizona Schools for the Deaf and the Blind board voted to move its Tucson campus. The campus will relocate to Oro Valley next school year. The board also approved laying off approximately 70 staff members. Superintendent Annette Reichman cited funding shortfalls and declining enrollment as reasons. Many families and teachers expressed strong opposition to these decisions.

Relocate or exit?
For those of us considering relocating with our families or leaving, which way are you leaning and why? Huge decision but concerns on relocating then getting laid off. How’s the job market in HOU?
Also heard houses aren’t increasing in value as much as locations we are relocating from
Did anyone relocate to Plano or Frisco?
Did anyone relocate to Plano or Frisco from out of state after the new campus announcement?
Relocation Terms
For those that were offered relocation, what were the terms?
How long between relocation acceptance and requirement to show up at new location?
Assume you didn’t actually have to move your residence, correct?
How long do you have to stay with Wells Fargo post relocation?
If you don’t stay the required time, is the payback of relocation $ prorated or is it 100%?
(No need to share $ amounts)
Avis to move Zipcar's HQ out of Boston, lay off staff
Zipcar will no longer maintain a separate corporate headquarters location at 35 Thomson Place, and the corporate roles based at that location will be eliminated.

The new "Venz Oil" deals are in the air. So give your best guess on how it will effect M.P.
Excitement is brewing over the huge Venz Oil possibilities since it holds the worlds largest oil reserves. Temptation to move all assets there could be lucrative. Better make sure any new contract covers overseas relocation and exact wording in new contract for different laws for any country and not just in U, S.A. else that boat could leave without you on board in the near future.
Do you think?
CS really wanted the Head of EMEA job instead of China? Do you think she asked EH when the had the conversation about this? I'd imagine she'd rather move back to the Netherlands verses Shanghai but hey maybe there is a hidden reason that I am not privy to. Let's see. I do wish her the best.
Corporate HQ closing in CT
Is this true that corp hq is closing in CT? Maybe moving to another building?
Over/under on 2028 move?
Will hq actually move to Edmonton or will they chicken out?
And if move, who says delayed beyond 2028?
There’s no way I’m relocating for this job
You’re supposed to throw your savings at moving costs, uproot your whole life and your family, just to lose the job a few months later anyway? No chance. This push feels like a strategy to get us to quit. Agreeing to relocate just makes you a more expensive nuisance to cut later. I understand people are holding onto their jobs for dear life right now, but relocating likely won’t save yours. It’ll just add financial ruin to the stress.
If you were told today to relocate or resign, what would you do?
I know some people who relocated when their unit got sold who now regret it. I still think it's better to have any job than no job, to be honest.
Severance for Expats
Has anyone sought legal advice regarding expats not receiving severance if they decline their job offer? It seems unreasonable to force someone to relocate to a new city. I know the company’s stance is assumed mobility but do external lawyers agree with that?
Think twice before moving for this job
A friend was offered a promotion with a move recently, and I'll say here what I told him. Even with a promotion, moving for this company is a terrible idea. Layoffs are hitting everyone, and you'd be putting your family through a lot for a job that might not last. I wouldn't do it. In fact, I think it's the stupidest move somebody could make right now.
Move is On Hold!!
This is a horrible sign for corporate staff! I have a strong feeling they plan to do mass layoffs prior to 2/2 and that's why they halted the move so suddenly.
Why they didn't figure this out sooner is beyond me. Not much shocks me here though.
The Dominos Are Falling
I've seen it. You've seen it. Quad. Levi. Etc. Trading and SDP moving in phases to Houston... Executives starting to list their homes in Findlay. Has anyone else been hearing the whispers of moving HQ? I've now heard it from people in a few different departments.
Wait so CS is actually getting moved
Sprinted to this page once the email came out 🤣🤣🤣

Future of virtual
If the return to office thing is happening, can someone confirm what will happen to virtual
There are thousands of virtual employees so they won't all be let go
Will they be told relocate ? Or will they remain virtual if over 50 miles to an office
Ya'll think remotes will be hit hard?
Personally, I do.
Dell has made it clear they want in office 5 days/week and has stated that all future roles are onsite ONLY - including internal movement. Remotes are not eligible for promotions, and I 100% guarentee it will cut into their bonus and merit raises, as well. Remotes will get a 50% max bonus, and a xyz max merit raise (1.5-2.5%) to force people to quit. That may not happen this year but I'm betting my bonus it will happen soon.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if that happens this year as like I said, Dell wants all employees to be local to an office and remote employment is no longer offered. What a great and sh---y way to force people to quit...
Essentially, they want everybody to be local to an office. Which is d-mb and pointless IMPO but, that's what they've made clear and in order to do that, they HAVE to begin cutting the remotes at some point.
My guess is unless you are below a sr. director, dell will help relocate you... otherwise it;'s on your own dime. aka 99% of the remotes are FUQD for relocating.
Well, unfortunately the only way to do this is by cutting the remotes. Exceptions will be made for a very small group of people but I doubt that even, as my director drives 90 minutes to the office daily, one way. overall, remotes IMPO are on the block going forward. Unless they relocate, which many won't.
Moving to Plano
What is the procedure to move out of state voluntarily (before getting a letter)? Can I buy a home staying out of state?
Lincoln employees better subscribe to Ford Secure 👀
Parking targets in Corktown isn’t a great idea:
Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln luxury brand next month will make Michigan Central in Detroit the home of its marketing, sales and services teams and share the ninth floor with the automaker's Model e electric vehicle team.
The move comes as the Dearborn automaker transitions to its new global corporate headquarters known as "The Hub" just a few miles from the Glass House, its home since 1956 that will be demolished. Ford in 2024 reopened the former train depot, which had been a symbol of Detroit's hard times, with office, retail and event space after the Blue Oval acquired it in 2018 to attract young tech talent. The building's restoration has made it a hot venue for large-scale events, elegant weddings and now a luxury vehicle brand.
“It's a great opportunity for the brand to be in this beautiful place," Lincoln spokesperson Anika Salceda-Wycoco said.
Automotive News first reported the move. Although Ford's new 2.1-million-square-foot headquarters in Dearborn is larger than its previous home, Lincoln President Joaquin Nuño-Whelan told the outlet that moving to Detroit creates an opportunity for the brand to differentiate itself from the mass-market Ford brand, while still being close to the strengths its sibling brand offers.
Salceda-Wycoco didn't provide a total number of employees expected to be assigned to the building called a "thriving symbol of innovation and culture" in a statement, noting desin and product development teams will still remain on the Dearborn campus. Nuño-Whelan told Automotive News it would be about 55 people moving into the station.
The Dearborn automaker by the end of 2028 expects 2,500 Ford employees and another 2,500 workers will be on the campus that includes the Newlab startup hub in the adjacent former book depository. The automaker occupies the eighth, ninth and 10th floors of the 18-story office tower. In addition to Model e, it houses its integrated services software team and philanthropy arm.
The station reopened in June 2024 with an outdoor concert and public tours after a $950 million investment into the campus anchored by the depot whose last train left in 1988. Yellow Light Coffee and a retail store have opened inside the ground floor of the building, and a high-end NoMad hotel will take over the top five floors in 2027. More tenants are expected in the coming years.
Plano or Quit
The direction couldn’t be clearer anymore: the company is consolidating aggressively into Plano. Everything outside of Plano is being phased out unless you’re considered “critical” and already local. Even employees currently assigned to the Dallas HQ are being told they’ll move to Plano once the new office is ready, which says everything about the strategy.
Notices are starting to hit teams in St. Louis, LA, and other non-Plano locations, with more expected to follow. This isn’t a rumor or a one-off—it’s the plan. If you’re not in Plano, the message is blunt: relocate or prepare to exit. The days of distributed hubs and geographic flexibility are effectively over at AT&T.
Relocation
I work in a part of FI that is now a part of Fidelity Wealth (yet we’ve been given no direction or concrete info). Anyone heard of upcoming relocation pushes away from Smithfield? The 900 building/traffic/parking garage is a complete disaster and no one cares. Wondering if they’re looking to reduce headcount there.
JAX, ORL,TPA, MIA Whats the future
What’s happening in Florida—are cities like Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and Miami now on the block to move to Texas? Does anyone know?
#PlanoBound
Atlanta is in the beginning phases of planning mass relocation letters to Plano once the new campus is open. It may make sense to start looking for a house ahead of the forced relocation!
Is this for real??? Or some impractical joke???
I started a role 3 months back from Ohio, I had to relocate for the role to Boston per contract (which I did at my own expense)
However, I had asked if I can instead relocate to Westlake as I have family there, for which I said No.
This morning my manager told me, my position will be moved to Westlake.
You can't seriously be kidding with this BS?????
I now have 3 months to find a new role within fidelity or let my snake of a manager know in two weeks if I'll be able to relocate to Westlake (at my own expense again)
Fidelity has become a joke!!!!! I wish I took some of the other posts seriously before taking up the offer.
I'm glad I refused to relo
I left, and I was lucky to find a decent job. I can imagine the extra anxiety people who relocated have been going through. After the expensive move and all the other costs, including to your social life and consequences for family members, the very real possibility of losing your job anyway must be eating at people. Companies truly treat us like trash.
Relocation letter in NJ
Don’t forget the law in NJ protects you from mass layoffs of 50 or more employing a 90 day period.
The off made by the company to choose to move to another location and forgo severance is not legal in the state of Nj.
If they offer you 18 months of employment when agreeing to move and you decide to stay, they’ll still owe must pay your severance regardless.
Tell them yes you will move. Work the time offered while interviewing.
When the time comes, tell them they still owe you severance per NJ state law. If they refuse, hire an attorney.
NPC&E Relo Letters
Other posts have the rest of the info, but I want people to know that some locations that were supposed to get letters did not get letters Friday. Some people say its because the locations weren't ready for more people, so if someone thought you were getting a letter but did not... you are not now "safe". When the location you were supposed to go to gets some construction...be ready.
Location strategy status 2026
What's the latest on location strategy? They forced hundreds of people to uproot their lives and move to a hub in 2025. Has anyone heard of anyone being let go after they moved? I'm still seeing many people shown as being in non hub locations in workday. Are they scheduled to relocate this year or somehow they got an exception to stay where they are?
Remote work from Calgary
Due to family reasons, I can’t move out of Calgary. Has anyone asked if there is any opportunity to work remote rely from Calgary, or do fly-in fly-out to Kearl or Cold Lake or Norman Wells??
I am not a troll. I am out of options and desperate.
Moved to Texas then get laid off scenario (Unemployment Benefits options)
What if you get laid off a few months after moving to the new location? Will you be eligible for unemployment benefits based on new location (e.g. Texas) or is there a required minimum Texas employment period?
Who got the relocation letters today?
Who got one? Please indicate if you are market based , centralized or an HQ employee. Seems to be a lot of confusion of who got a letter and who didn’t but was supposed to

Atlanta offices will be moving to Dallas 2028
Most jobs in Atlanta will be moving to Dallas once they open the new Plano HQ. Some jobs like marketing will be moving much sooner.
