That post about 2/3's of the tech jobs being posted being in India yesterday (Saturday) must have hit a nerve.
Now the count is 30 jobs, 27 of which have openings in the US (also state could be in 10 locations). Jobs in India down to 3. The openings all must have been posted on the Saturday before Easter, and 21 people hired in India on the same day. Yeah, right. I was wondering how these people sleep. Probably soundly. Sociopaths.....
We should all be worried
If Serbia's getting hit majorly, then none of us are safe. No shade to Serbians, but they're much cheaper and much easier to keep on. If they're down to cutting even the lower-cost folks, what's going to happen to us in the US? Nothing good that I can think of, that's for sure.
The Great Off-Shoring
If you haven't taken a look at your org charts lately it might be worth a look. I have noticed a large influx of cases being worked by off-shore contractors so I went to our org charts and sure enough each director now has a ton of off-shore contractors.
Layoff is Minimal
Honestly, Oracle’s layoffs weren't even that deep, but they’re definitely still ghosting some projects. Now they’re in this weird spot where they need bodies in Nashville, but they're being cheap and won't shell out $100k for new people, so they’re just recycling H-1B staff to save cash. If you’re a boss there, you’re basically safe from the next round of cuts as long as your team is mostly offshore or visa-heavy. This whole mess is probably just gonna stay the same until October or maybe early next year.
Cyber and the management goal for LOB
Cyber LOB is going through a major shift the long-term plan for this is to have stateside executives using AI agents to manage everything in automation by the end of the year they plan on having the Cyber LOB be around 41% India staff and under 20% American staff.
For those who have not looked at the CISO LinkedIn page and his executive subordinates then you should know that they haven't fulfilled a position like the ones they are fulfilling now ever in their career let alone for a long period of time what they are good at is producing positive data analytic numbers which is what the CIO Wants.
It's a tough market all around but the executives are looking to generate their own wealth on your backs as they put you out of a job this is why they want everything automation and everything AI because they want to push the buttons to solve the problems and remove you as the middleman.
The reality is you have two choices you can start looking for another job now and hopefully find something that allows you to leave on your terms or you can continue working and hope that they keep you but in doing so you will continuously be psychologically and emotionally abused and groomed to be their push button monkeys who has no real value or thought to the real world.
The unescapable fact is that under the leadership of the CISO the entire CS LOB will have its American workforce drastically dropped by the end of this year thus following the same corporate trends that other tech companies have been doing.
You losing your job is what's going to give the CIO and others bigger paychecks and that's what it's all about it's always been what it's about so continue working those 60 plus hours breaking your back losing your family and your health being psychologically and emotionally abused by your managers in doing so thinking you're going to matter, come Tuesday in the not so distant future you will be laid off if not fired... Not because the color of your skin or because of your performance or anything like that but because you are an American and because Americans cost too much corporations like Wells Fargo are not feeling like you're worth investing in so make sure that you leave on your turns and not theirs
Is it time for FIS Tech Dev to Unionize
I am sorry. I can only speak for the Tech people at FIS, but I am tired of watching my co-workers get laid off or moved to third party consultants to get laid off without severance. I am tired of wondering if I will have a job next quarter. I am tired of upper management lying to our faces. Those off-shore consultant firms pay their employees not even a quarter of what we make. If they are going to lay me off, it is not going to be to hire someone over seas making a quarter of my salary. What does everyone think?

What Does Discussion on This Forum Actually Reveal About BNY Mellon
BNY Mellon’s significance on this forum is clear: the forum has become a real‑time barometer of employee sentiment, revealing a workforce that perceives the bank’s strategy as dominated by cost‑cutting, stealth layoffs, cultural deterioration, and leadership distrust. The volume, tone, and consistency of posts signal reputational, operational, and talent‑retention risks that BNY cannot ignore.
1. Stealth Layoffs & WARN Avoidance
Numerous posts allege unannounced, rolling layoffs, often tied to:
RTO policy enforcement
Performance review manipulation
Site closures (e.g., Pennington)
Employees repeatedly claim BNY is circumventing WARN Act notifications by staggering terminations and using “performance” as a pretext.
2. Labor Arbitrage as Core Strategy
Threads explicitly describe BNY’s operating model as:
“If someone, somewhere, can do it cheaper, that’s where the work goes.”
Offshoring, contractor freezes, and AI‑driven job elimination are recurring themes.
Employees see this as systemic, not cyclical—a permanent shift in workforce philosophy.
3. Leadership Distrust & Cultural Breakdown
Robin Vince (RV) is a central figure in discussions, often portrayed as:
Detached from employee reality
Focused on cost‑savings and personal compensation
Culture is described as toxic, demoralizing, and psychologically unsafe, with morale at “historic lows.”
4. RTO We-ponization
RTO dashboards, “red periods,” and inconsistent enforcement are cited as:
Tools to push out employees
Methods to avoid severance
Many posts describe RTO as a layoff mechanism, not a business need.
5. Operational Instability
Reports of:
Unresponsive or dysfunctional teams
Leadership churn
Poor communication around relocations and site closures
Employees describe the environment as chaotic and directionless.
What This Means for BNY Mellon
1. Reputational Risk
TheLayoff.com is heavily trafficked by job seekers, analysts, and journalists.
The persistent negativity shapes external perception of BNY as a troubled employer.
2. Talent Flight
High performers openly discuss:
Practicing interviews on company time
Planning exits
Warning others away from applying
This accelerates brain drain and raises replacement costs.
3. Strategic Execution Risk
A demoralized workforce undermines:
AI transformation
Client service
Operational resilience
Regulatory compliance
BNY’s own employees describe the bank as “McKinsey’s magnum opus of misery.”
4. Legal & Regulatory Exposure
Frequent references to:
Wrongful termination
Forced ranking
WARN circumvention
Discriminatory practices
…suggest heightened class‑action and regulatory risk.
Bottom-Line
Discussion on this forum portrays BNY Mellon as an institution in cultural and operational decline, driven by aggressive cost‑cutting, offshoring, and leadership detachment.
For analysts, journalists, and job seekers, the site functions as a candid, unfiltered window into a workforce that feels expendable, unheard, and increasingly hostile toward senior leadership.

H1B vs offshoring
When I was hired at USB about 5 years ago I was surprised by the number of people were offshore. Also surprised by the number of employees who were from India or other countries. Didn’t really think much of it until I was the last American born person on my team of 10 and I was the one part of a larger RIF.
Anyone know if the bank is limiting H1B now that their plan is to ramp up the offshoring jobs to India? Anyone know any H1Bs who have been part of a RIF?

March 2026 Layoffs
More layoffs at end of March 2026 after a previous round earlier this year. After being told no more layoffs, thee were apparently still more needed. Approximately 35-40 invited to a conference call and let go effective same day, and many with substantial years of service. I do know of at least 1 other person from another department that was not included in my group, but was laid off, so not really sure just how many were actually laid off company-wide in this round. A reason in the separation paperwork I received was that the company was going to be moving more work offshore - assuming to India like the other jobs offshored in the past. Perhaps not everyone's reason, but that's what my paperwork mentioned.
When will it be enough?
So many cuts in benefits, so much offshoring, so many layoffs as people are replaced by AI...and we all just keep accepting this as if it's normal. We're well trained, I guess. I just wonder if there's a point when all of us will realize we've had enough and just walk out.
Layoffs happening today 3/27
Several on my team received invites for 10am call today - no agenda. Peer was informed a few teams are moving offshore. They are only keeping a few leaders on a few more weeks to shift the work to OGS. WHY is this continuing to happen??? How can so many people keep losing their jobs? The ‘new’ jobs posted online are bogus & aren’t being filled. Don’t waste your time applying. It’s all smoke & mirrors. SMDH
What happens when over 50% of the jobs are gone?
Looks like the US is heading into a collapse over the next decade with the relentless jobs being lost due to H1B visas Ofdshoeing and AI.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we see over 50% of white collar jobs completely gone over the next 5 years.
This is a real SHTF scenario and most people still have their heads up their as--s when it comes to this
Who is the target for the layoff?
Are they going to replace everyone with H1B visas and offshore workers? Whats the gameplan?
Here we go
Vanguard to hire 2k in India. I know the phrase right now is to "grow the workforce" but we all know what it is. Offshoring so they can get rid of American employees who cost more. And even if nobody gets cut here, to do this when so many people at home need a job is despicable. John Bogle is probably rolling in his grave.
Krusty's Clown Show
I've worked with some inept clowns, at some inept companies, but I've never seen people so high up in any organisation, who couldn't organise a four year old's birthday party, until now.
You have lost any influence over any staff, aside from the hardcore backside kissing crew, and we all know who they are. It's so bad that people don't even fear being laid off, because they have lived under the constant threat of it for years.
Don't worry though, the cheapest offshore staff, who have no experience or skills will save you, I'm sure.
Let's hope someone does a basic maths qualification before the next quarter's numbers.
CS Jobs Moving to Toronto and Bogota
Word came down this week in Denver that some NA CS jobs are moving to Toronto or Bogota by end of year. US employees will be onboard until end of year to train the replacements in Toronto/ Bogota. Are any other areas impacted? Product, Tech? How widespread is this happening?
Chevronton
Dearest gentle reader, it has come to this author’s attention that all is not glittering in the oil patch, particularly within the cold, steely walls of Chevron.
While the company boasts of record-setting efficiency, measured by colorful scorecards that are all the rage this season, the loyal workers—those remaining, at least—are being squeezed until they are positively breathless, expected to drive performance while looking over their shoulders.
'Tis whispered that the infamous leader, the Cryptkeeper himself, MW, cares not a wh-t for the human cost of his grand ambitions, treating seasoned staff as mere overhead to be deleted, rather than the lifeblood of the enterprise, as he searches for his next low-cost geography “Diamond” of the season and incessantly prods his subjects to most expeditiously dispatch labor abroad.
With thousands of souls reportedly cast out in a relentless drive to slash costs, one wonders if the "Human Energy" touted in this company’s advertisements refers to the energy it takes to flee the sinking ship, or perhaps, the sheer audacity of laying off much more than the reported 20% of the workforce, while demanding more with less.
The atmosphere, by all accounts, is less "energy giant" and more "relentless harvester," leaving one to wonder who, if anyone, will be left to turn out the lights in Houston.
Fear not, gentle reader, for there is much more merriment to share. The ton demands it, and we shall oblige. I leave you with this juicy riddle: who is the Diamond that shines so bright—albeit unnaturally—that he lights up the dark halls of the Houston dungeon and is—dare we say this—in an entanglement? One hint: Chicklets
Can they at least spare us the spin?
I'm terrified of losing my job, yet here I am, being reassured daily that being replaced by AI or cheap offshore labor is the best thing that could happen to me.
Speaking Up While Still Employed
Is it a good idea to speak on LinkedIn about what employees are going through inside a company while still working there?
I’m currently at Wells Fargo and honestly I hate the way some of us are being treated. I checked job openings on Workday and many of the roles seem to be in India while employees here are worried about their jobs.
Just wondering what others think is it right to speak up about this while still employed?
AI and reducing inefficiencies in offshor
Is the company leveraging AI to show how much additional work offshoring has caused onshore employees? Is the company suppressing the results to appease shareholders? How much bad manipulation of AI is going on behind the scenes? There are gatekeepers who know what's up. When will the financial regulators compare AI outputs with what's being reported publicly? Especially in the AML area, are people looking the other way?
Why do they bother with the AI narrative?
We know we're being replaced by actual people. As if it matters who or what takes my job. The outcome is the same - I'll be unemployed.
Call your congressman
The Keep Call Centers in America Act of 2025 (H.R. 4954/S. 2495), introduced in August 2025, is a bipartisan bill designed to curb the offshoring of customer service jobs. It forces companies to notify the DOL before relocating, creates a public list of violators, and penalizes them by restricting federal grants, loans, and contract eligibility for five years.

Consumer Rights: Agents must disclose their location at the start of a call, and consumers can request to be transferred to a U.S.-based agent.

This will impact UHG and help protect your jobs.
Spoke to a Senior Director and this person is praying this passes. They also expressed that all you employees better hope this passes too or you could be jobless soon.
This senior director stated they have a big problem with the contracts because the employees from the outsourced jobs spend more time committing fraud than doing the job. This person told me of all the ways they use to improve their survey results, accomplish their metrics without ever engaging in a call or a chat. The director said they actually spend more time beating the system than actually working.
So why not fire them. Well you can’t. Once they are hired their govt will not allow you the company to get rid of them. Only the govt can fire them so you are stuck with them. They have caught over 500 alone in one incident and guess what they still are employed.
So how do you all like those apples. So keep staying late and ki-ling yourselves on metrics because your off shore buddies are getting paid well and don’t even have to worry about doing the job.
This person does risk and quality.
Never-ending offshoring galore
Expecting nothing better than to be replaced is a great motivating force. Being made to train your replacement adds a special flair to feeling fantastic about losing your job.
Remote worker layoffs
This week, management informed over 200 people including managers, supervisors and leads that they are planning to offshore all of our home mortgage loan roles to India. Not sure how you can call yourself U.S. Bank when more and more employees are not located in the U.S. scary to think everyone’s personal data will be available to non-US residents. I’m sure our lenders and borrowers will be ecstatic to hear this (they clearly don’t want this to be brought to their attention since we were told multiple times what to do if media encounters us). It’s very sad to see so many employees and leaders all being kept in the dark. Thank you to our fearless ceo Gunjan and shareholders 🙄
Cascade 3 - Offshoring
Was in a meeting with managers a few rungs up the ladder than me when one of them fielded a question about "Reimagining". They mentioned that there's always been a "Cascade 3" and that it's happening in the next 3 months. They said more jobs will be offshored as a part of it but they don't know how much.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?
Oh AB
Meeting-
- So no mention of serving the athlete.
- Key focus is serving the biz. The biz often doesn’t think big picture or with logic. Not to mention shipping jobs to ITC means a 12 hour time difference. Biz never works outside of 8-4 pst. ITC never starts until 10am ITC time.
- Not gonna work my dude.
- Glad our leaders are so intelligent.
- TPM sr director in the chat offering to train folks on agile. Embarrassing all around.
Offshoring us into extinction
Truly sorry to everyone who's already been hit.
KYC US Layoffs
KYC layoffs within Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Tampa locations today. Offshoring the work to Costa Rica while there they struggle to work through the cases leading to greater customer impact. All in the name of cutting costs, right?
Layoffs Occurring 3/5 - Confirmed
Layoffs will Occur on Thursday and Friday March 5th and March 6th to further increase the presence of offshore contractors. No exact # of who will be impacted. This is for Optum
30/70 employee ratio
I just got out of a meeting where my VP made it pretty clear that by end of this year, he wants a 30:70 employee ratio between USA and HIH. There was another thread here talking about this, but seems to have been deleted (I didn't know layoff.com deleted threads).
We are given a timeline now to make this happen and get our ratios aligned to this goal. I wonder how long before our turn to have our job be offshored.
Optum will moving all jobs from US to India soon
In 2025, Optum India is significantly expanding its footprint and innovation capabilities, highlighted by a new 500,000-square-foot office in Chennai and the launch of its first innovation center in Gurugram.
Data Townhall
It’s been a few months. What’s the verdict on the new GM?
Are we offshoring all data jobs in the next couple of years?
The only takeaway for me was the OE moment. Basically somebody executed some script that ran up a $4m bill in a day. That seems like a fire-able offense. Which id--t did this and that’s one expensive OE moment.
Oh and also a very long winded meeting where every manager talked about how they’re going to do AI, except half of our talent have already quit, with more of them coming next month after the bonus check clears.
I guess the answer is more EY.
Network Engineering Offshoring?
I have a job alert set up for network engineering positions. This week and last week they’ve posted 4 or 5 in India. None in the US. Are they offshoring engineering???
