Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Meeting-

  1. So no mention of serving the athlete.
  2. Key focus is serving the biz. The biz often doesn’t think big picture or with logic. Not to mention shipping jobs to ITC means a 12 hour time difference. Biz never works outside of 8-4 pst. ITC never starts until 10am ITC time.
  3. Not gonna work my dude.
  4. Glad our leaders are so intelligent.
  5. TPM sr director in the chat offering to train folks on agile. Embarrassing all around.

We can whine about who works more hours all we want. The real question is how is an ITC first org going to support the business on an 8 hour time difference. It won't, not efficiently.

Longtime Nike employee here. I see that across teams here. A lot of folks in GT hardly work for 6 hours a day and still whine about being overloaded.

ITC teams do a lot more work than the folks sitting in DAI. I see my peers leaving at 3pm when I am at PHK.

I see a lot of things getting delivered from ITC but the same work when it was in PHK wasn’t delivered for months. It feels like an outsourcing bias that’s folks have against ITC. Look around every company in the US has big capability centers in India. Nike is very behind in both setting up a center and also figuring out how to make the collaboration work

Christ, typical biz comment. No I didn’t say ITC is supporting 8-4. I said they come online 10 ist which is 11:30 pm pst dummy. Hence why making biz priority is not smart. You panic and think only short term about your particular needs. Not to mention a good majority of major tech incidents are caused by biz user errors.
