Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Speaking Up While Still Employed

Is it a good idea to speak on LinkedIn about what employees are going through inside a company while still working there?

I’m currently at Wells Fargo and honestly I hate the way some of us are being treated. I checked job openings on Workday and many of the roles seem to be in India while employees here are worried about their jobs.

Just wondering what others think is it right to speak up about this while still employed?

I wish it would matter but I was part of February layoffs and I was always a consistent Meets or Exceeds, was in a hub & did my time on site, and played all of the other reindeer games. I called out bad behavior (in a formal way) to Employee Relations, and I'm pretty convinced that that landed me high on the layoff list. So, do it at your own risk (but- despite not having a job, I feel a million times better).

Absolutely a great idea. Fight the good fight!

If you have to ask, you already know the answer. Dissing your employer will earn you a fast ticket out of WF.

I was reviewing LinkedIn posts from a BEC that had some reposting's from some OD (organizational development) consultants.

There's no point, it'll will only put your severance at risk and what could possibly motivate me to do that?

A good rule of thumb is to never publicly talk trash about your current employer, no matter how much they may deserve it. Youre asking for a term due to a violation of social media rules otherwise.

Please post all your complaints on LinkedIn. Don't hold back! That will ensure every employer clearly understands what they'd get if they hired you.

Keep in mind that outsiders that see your comments or even potential new employers will just see you as a whiner and not hireable.

There is policy on what you can/can’t do/say on social media as an employee of the company. LinkedIn is considered social media. All social media is monitored for any mention of WF, and you’d better believe that they also look at employees’ postings with a lens of that policy

Aside from what WF might or might not do in response (depending on what you post), it’s really not in your interest to do so. It doesn’t matter whether what you are saying is 100% accurate or objectively provable (like X% of job postings are for India) - any potential employer or recruiter will see you as someone who badmouths their current employer and that is a non-starter.

Didn't you hear the new rule. You must be JPM and fit on one of SVB's spokes or be Indian. No jobs for you. I wouldn't post on LinkedIn. Use here or glass bowel. We will be good therapists.
