CSBBO closures tied to “location strategy,” but they’re still offering OT?

It looks like the CSBBO closures are part of the bank’s location strategy, focusing on consolidating some sites while expanding others.

What stands out is that for the past three days they have been sending messages like this:

Overtime available today, November 2, 2025. Overtime is available for Everyday Banking English and Spanish Bankers for the rest of today and tomorrow. Please log in, and your leader will report your worked hours to Resource Planning for processing.

If sites are closing, why push overtime right now? It almost seems like they are trying to meet short term goals before more news comes out.

Has anyone else heard which sites are next?

Badge swipes at other offices

heads up - if you are swiping in at an office that does not match your formal office location, they are definitely looking at you. Ask your manager to change your location (if possible) or start coming in to the correct location otherwise this is the excuse they’re looking for…

Layoffs in the refineries??

The original announcement was, Imperial Oil will lay off 900 staff from Calgary to reduce operating cost, and staff at the asset level will remain untouched. But, now I find out that they will layoff from Strathcona refinery too.

What happened? Did I miss understand the original announcement? Or, is it IOL management lying to us again?

TNL locations list

Hearing the new version of hub locations are TNLs, it's acronym but don't remember. Here ACE regional support staff, will have to relocate to TNL location or find another field facing position or leave company. Hear TNL list will be out later this year, impacted folks notified and decisions have to be made.

Any new info about the layoffs rumored around the 20th?

I’m remote, and honestly terrified we’ll be among the first on the chopping block. If anyone has credible information, please share. There are so many rumors flying around - mass layoffs, HQ-only cuts, even a possible private equity acquisition. It’s hard to tell what’s real, and even harder not to expect something bigger lurking around the corner that could hit us all hard.

What is happening with Pershing?

I've noticed this year in particular a highly unfavorable balance of BD deconversions/terminations, relative to the amount of firms onboarded. I know Pershing is only one slice of the BNY pie. Between the exodus of clients under our clearing business and the seemingly unmitigated failure that the money pit known as Wove Investor appears to be so far, I can't say these are good signs, in spite of the current share price of $109.53 (9/26/25).

Biltmore/Fashion Square

These two buildings, 10 minutes apart. Fashion Square in one of the largest luxury malls in the country, Biltmore in an outdoor shopping center just a short drive across Camelback. The new owners of Biltmore Fashion Park have major plans for the center (think Saks redevelopment…..), lofts on top of the mall and a boutique hotel in front of Cheesecake Factory. Kierland Commons lifestyle center is the plan. Where does Macys fit into this? Time and $ will tell.

Location strategy questions

Anyone know how location strategy plays into union employees/locations? I get it that their current contract has them working from home, but with management being required to come back, it would stand to reason the union would follow. And the union employees locations are not part of the location announcements we've heard.

Also wondered how the Frontier acquisition fits into location strategy. Seems like some major disconnects

No need for sarcastic or ignorant comments toward any side of the playing field, please.

Evaluated Pricing Location Strategy

Evaluated Pricing also known as TRPS, is going to start moving NY heads to South Carolina. They have picked the perfect person to execute this new strategy.

New municipal roles will be hired in Costa Rica and Fort Mills. The job market is good for job seekers— if you are in munis start looking for a job.

Congrats BVAL and ICE - you are the winners!
