Why Italy?

Can anyone tell why BKR annual meeting is always held in Italy Florence? Why not Houston?

it so sad to see how much money spent just for 3days.. Now with current layoffs , it really doesnt make sense.. Lots of experience is gone plus lots of projects will be impacted.I wonder how much value this event actually brings...

Florence is where the IET CoE or the equivalent of the legacy GE TPS (Turbo machinery) are based. LZ being Italian for him it's a pride.

It's staggering that with the amount of cost out that's happening that they host this with such showbiz. I wonder how many tenders are won via the AM.

It makes them appear greener and not an O&G company. And of course LS can be closer to his Italian buddies.

It's a GE legacy thing.
