ORANGE CONTRACT BARGAINING

I’m hearing for the new orange contract for mobility they are going to continue permanent WORK FROM HOME for those employees under orange contract. Then they will hire near end of year for WFH. Anyone heard of possible outcome for the Orange contract ?

Directors who cant spell basic words right

Verizon downfall can be easily summed up. Cant post work emails here but 90% of these foreign born directors (guess what country?) cannot spell basic first grade words right. Do they forget that VZ has gemini built into google workspace for a few years now??? Its as simple as hitting autocorrect. Who is hiring these lazy directors.

End H1Bs now!

Staffing shortage

Three team members left months ago with no replacement in sight. Their responsibilities have been distributed among the rest of us, and it seems leadership views this as a permanent solution. Is there anything we can do to force them to hire some people, because we're close to our breaking point?

CvS is on Hiring surge

There is tons of hiring happening in CVS.
You guessed it right, all Indians on visas!!
And they’re pushing their people up the ladder too..fun, fun…

AT&T expands in Charlotte, hiring 200 people for cybersecurity jobs in new office

Employees in Charlotte will focus on emerging cyber threats, designing defenses using AI and serving as part of AT&T Dynamic Defense, a network-based security service designed to detect and stop threats before they impact a business.
New office to be located approximately 1 mile from the Charlotte NRC.
And yes, RTO will be in full effect

Job search

I just had an interview!! The job itself is remote and out of the hundreds of applicants, they chose my resume because they saw Wells Fargo on it. So just FYI, Wells Fargo still carries some power in the hiring world. 💅✅

Worse every day

I swear this place gets worse every day. It does not matter who you talk to, audit, risk, commercial, wealth or the random person in the kitchen the complaints and misery never end. The reasons are all over the place and true from everything I have seen and experienced. I hope they start fixing the culture. They won’t. They are not hiring when people leave. Makes you wonder if they want to be sold.

IS THIS TRUE?

Hey guys, I’m hearing that around some time this year AT&T will be hiring for premier service consultant work from home again. Has anyone heard this same info on customer service jobs continuing work from home ?

Principal Applied Scientist

After so many layoffs, needing to go to market to fill the position of Principal Applied Scientist in Enterprise AI team is not a good look:

What happened to the robust pipeline of talent that was spruiked so enthusiastically by IT leaders only a few years ago? What happened to all the digital scholar wunderkinds who were going to change the company?

It looks especially bad after so many other high-profile departures from Chevron, especially in the IT and data segments.

And who in their right mind with those skills and located in the US would work for Chevron?

(I wonder if whoever lands the role will have to do a Skills Insights assessment, and whether they will be allowed to score above “fundamentals” with their lack of Chevron experience?)

Newer hires: total letdown?

Many have commented on the change in culture and how the company has changed for the worse. Does a lot of this have to do with the newer hires over the past few years?

The company has hired a lot of new people and to be fair some have been good. However in many cases it looks like the company’s hired a lot of mediocre employees. It feels like the company used to hire the best of the best. Recently it feels like the scraps are getting picked up.

What does everyone think?

More layoffs, fewer jobs-how can workers cope?

Companies are frozen by tariff uncertainty and AI expectations, while workers are stuck in a job market with very little hiring or firing. New figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show the hiring rate has dropped to 3.2%, the lowest in more than a decade, apart from the pandemic period.

ConocoPhillips & Venezuela

In 2007 Chavez nationalized all heavy oil. Two of which were Petrozuata and Corocoro that were ConocoPhillips. Venezuela was ordered to pay CP, call it $9 billion for damages. Do you think with the recent US will run Venezuela, CP will be looking to get back in? Then they can hire me again?

DEI strikes again

Well.....just applied for a position at the HO - totally qualified. Submitted my application and within 5 seconds (I'm NOT exaggerating) - it stated my status as "NO LONGER UNDER CONSIDERATION."

I sent an email to the Talent Acquisition department and asked how it is that a response was sent immediately, when no recruiter would have had time to review?

The response / answer I received was "it was auto-disposition based on your answers."

Well, the ONLY questions I answered were regarding my race (white) and s-x.
