Watch your 401-K Match

If you have been recently laid off or left on your own, double check your vesting amount especially if you Rollover your account. I was fully vested as I had been with TD a long time past the vesting requirement before I left. I received an email in December telling me I needed to rollover my account or make an election by a certain time period or my account would be closed and I would basically receive a check for the balance. I rolled it, but then I was missing a large sum of money which was the match portion as if I wasn’t vested. I called Fidelity and they agreed I had been vested for awhile and they reached out to TD to refund me. I’m still waiting on my money and following up. I’m hoping I’m just a clerical error, but I just wanted to throw a heads up in case I’m not.

Early Warning

Managers in design centre are prepping for job cuts. Design usually runs lean, and misses the cuts happening in the rest of the company. If this is correct, GM is in trouble. Design has been told in the past that if studios are cutting there are issues coming.

A final warning for anyone still here

If you're still at CVS, you should already be looking for an exit. It's not bouncing back. They will keep cutting until there's nothing left but a shell that can't operate. When it finally collapses, it will take everyone still here down with it. Get out before you're left with nothing.

Any reliable info on what’s coming?

I mean something useful and at least somewhat credible. We all know major layoffs are coming, so it would be great to have a heads-up. And let’s be kind to each other, losing our jobs would be tough. The job market out there isn’t exactly cheerful or full of options.

Time and attendance warnings/termination

Belk is no longer terminating associates anymore for time and attendance issues (late clock in, call outs ect), we were told that because of staffing shortages that associates can only be terminated for egregious wrongdoing (theft ect..). If we terminated every Associate with time and attendance warnings we would literally have no associates left.

Warning to Experienced Hires

It still hurts to see a decade of work stolen. I realized too late that I was hired to do the heavy lifting for others who took advantage of me. (Those who are adept at managing up but made little contributions.) The real disappointment was to see former co-workers who passed off my work as their own because of their lack of competency just to survive the ranking. If they go that then have the decency to acknowledge me when they published or present my work.

Yeah, I know some people only show up for the paycheck. But if you care about these things, then don’t work here.

Pay attention to signs

At my last job, we had been restructuring, updating manuals, doing extra audits, but I brushed it off. Then one coworker got cut. Soon, discussions about automating tasks began. A month later I was handed the pink slip. Looking back, the warning signs were glaring. Only I didn’t want to admit it. Painful lesson. Make sure not to repeat it.

Hughes layoffs....again

My manager told me that another BIG round of layoffs is happening in mid Nov, approved by people very high up......And then again in Q1...... 66% in previous post was not a lie..... it will be the ultimate goal by Q2 2026...... Everyone should START LOOKING FOR JOBS. All the best

WTW Exit Survey

Obviously if you got this "error" email, you are on the layoff list.
If you got the email before 8am CST then get your resume polished. If you got it after, then you are probably ok. They sent some extra ones out to throw us off the scent. HR is putting all their braincells together to cover this up.
It went to your personal email.

State of Emergency in NJ

Remain off the roads-so does that mean we all WFH on Monday?

TRENTON – Acting Governor Tahesha Way today declared that New Jersey will enter a State of Emergency at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in preparation for a dangerous nor’easter storm expected to hit the state on Sunday, October 12 and continue into Monday, October 13. Parts of the state are forecasted to experience moderate to major coastal flooding, instances of inland flash flooding, sustained winds of up to 60 mph, localized precipitation of up to five inches, and very high surf potentially causing significant beach erosion and dune breaching. Executive Order No. 399 declares a State of Emergency across all 21 counties in New Jersey.

“Starting on Sunday, a dangerous coastal storm will begin to move past our state with extreme weather conditions for several counties, especially those on the Shore,” said Acting Governor Way. “In preparation for this storm, I am issuing a State of Emergency for all 21 counties out of an abundance of caution, authorizing our state’s emergency services personnel to activate as necessary. I urge all New Jerseyans to exercise caution, monitor local weather forecasts and warnings, stay informed on evacuation protocols, and remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary.”

Executive Order No. 399 will remain in effect until it is determined that an emergency no longer exists.

Peak

This is how I see things going from a logical point of view. Look up what happens within a company before layoffs. Wayfair is going through a good portion of the list they say to watch for. I think most if us will be safe until after peak. They are moving around a lot of employees right now. If you think you are safe because you are a top performer think again. View the the list. Top performers are not safe. We are expensive. Be careful. They will look for any reason to let us go. They will be letting go of a percentage of us before the new year. Better for the bottom line and more profits for the last quarter. Many more after peak. Do your own research on the signs. Good Luck.
