A recent study at MIT indicates otherwise, its conclusion was "95% of organizations aren’t yet seeing ROI from generative AI."

But yeah go ahead and tell me how great it is. I mean, It's going to inevitably happen, but near in the timeframe they hope for.

@bt You are trolling this post by asking that, right? The AI wave is not on the way.....it has rolled into nearly every corner of the business for at least the last 5-7 years. It does everything from predict network ordering trends in wireline, prioritize and route traffic in real time for wireless and wireline, powers one of the best anti spam products on the planet, calculates, routes, and builds engineering work orders and prints, configures cables, turns service routes and locations up for service, pulls in GIS data for one of the worlds largest fleets, heavily influences dispatch routes and efficiency, runs one of the worlds largest cyber security backbones, handles billions of customer service issues and complaints, and is already saving hundreds of millions in data processing and CAP/EX budgets. You would have an easier time explaining what AI doesn't effect. The only thing new, are the LLMs and release for projects. I truly believe that most people think AI is just a platform you ask questions to, an Alexa device, or neat ChatGPT app. If your work isn't physical in nature and you aren't actively learning what it truly is.....you have already been left behind.

Give me one use case or a problem that ai solved in att..this is all fluff.. clueless people promoting this

spend 15 minutes trying different prompts and get wildly different answers for essentially same question phrased slightly differently
settle on “best” candidate and spend 1 hour tweaking and experimenting to fix the bad code provided
OR
spend 45 minutes in a flow state and work it out properly

Midwit executives who are pushing this garbage and spending capex on it are cancer.

Typical leadership FOMO, they're buying the AI Hype train whatever MSFT or OpenAI or Anthropic is selling... theyll try some prod AI slop until it fails miserably, then one of us poor schmucks will have to clean it up..

AI code generation is a tool people, use it like a tool, and thats fine, but no its not a 1:1 replacement for developers.
