Intel Year End Review and what to expect? How did LBT avoid his own layoff by Trump?

"LBT achieved getting paid a lot of money by Intel. Also increased stock price from 20 to 40. Convinced Trump Intel was too big to fail and not only got him to donate money, got him to Arm twist nVidia to do so too. Also got Intel to donate to his startups. Wow! Increased margins by reducing headcount, either by outright layoffs or by giving employees BE and PIP thereby saving severance package. Increased productivity by telling employees to “laser focus” on working hard.

However, Intel is nowhere in AI. Anybody who is employable enough to find a job at some other company has done that by now."

"I am wondering how much he paid to the government officials to avoid his own layoff and even got the fund to bump up the stock. Remember INTC stock was kicked out the DOW earlier not too long ago and why it is suddenly bump up almost 100% in just a few months (?) Who is behind the manipulation order ?"

How long before intel's inflated stock plunges?

Linkedin, Glassdoor and Loop posts doesn't seem organic

Very fishy especially the linkedin posts from India about their annual/quarterly awards, posts about completing 6 months, 1 year, 1.5 years in TU. Seems extremely forced and artificial.

I know there was a HR level meeting when the glassdoor points dropped to 3.6 after the recent layoffs. I also heard that offer letter rejection rate is quite high recently. So, I guess the recent linkedin posts and glassdoor reviews are a damage control?

Dave Calhoun, says hold my Beer! as speculation surrounding Ford Leadership may soon announce Calhoun will replace DF as Ford's CEO

Deadly Ford 'blackout' dashboard glitch prompts $7B recall on entire F-Series model
On some of Ford's newest and most popular pickup trucks, drivers have reported a chilling failure the digital instrument panel suddenly goes dark, leaving them without a speedometer, fuel gauge, or warning lights while still moving in traffic.

If I didn't know any better...

It looks to me like they're almost positioning Verizon to be sold. I have seen these sorts of layoffs (no rhyme or reason and across EVERY GROUP) before and it has always been before a company goes up for sale.

I think there would be anti-trust issues with having an AT&T or T-Mobile buy it, but who knows, maybe Elon might buy it. I have heard that Dan is buddies with Elon.

Pure speculation, but something is quite amiss about how this whole thing has been done and handled from a managerial standpoint.

What’s possible?

Everything is a guessing game at this point.

Customer service and store channels to get a complete overhaul with new leaders and possibly a lot less of them to flatten our business?

Pull back of vendor customer service? By how much?

Work visas to be cancelled?

200 stores will be going to indirect with less support. More to follow?

Value organization to be drastically trimmed and a single brand for all prepay? Total to be sold off?

VSP offered for anyone who wants it?

We will all know soon. Until then. Do your job well. Get your end of year performance documents ready. Stay focused.

Meetings on Campus with armed guard?

I saw an armed policeman on the upper floor of the cube. I noticed him still there couple of hours later. I asked some people in my class about what he could be doing there.
One guy said the policeman stops every person that goes to the elevator and checks if there name is on a list.
There was obviously such an important meeting at the top level of the cube that employees were not allowed on the same floor as the meeting.

What are they discussing such that an armed guard is required to keep employees off that whole floor?

What % of people laid off this wave?

I see that there are planned layoffs in March and June, although I wonder if the source is one post on blind which might or might not be true. Either way it would help to evaluate what % is laid off? Cali laid of 175/2300 which is close to 10% budget as Cali is expensive? Post your % numbers based on anecdotal evidence

No more FSA lump sum at start of year...why?

Adobe has chosen not to give an FSA lump sum at the start of 2026. Something they've done since I started in 2011. Rather, they are going to spread it out over January to October. That significant change, among many other things I'm seeing around AI, suggests to me that they are aligning corp expenditures around planned mass layoffs at some point in 2026.

15K clarification, feedback + speculation

My interpretation of the articles going around is that this is affecting “management” employees meaning HQ. Retail is its own thing and they are not categorized the same in the financials.

Retail moving to indirect and/or closing down will be its own thing.

Predictions

Now, I know this is all speculative but I wanted to see what people think if a layoff is coming. If yes, how big is it - 10%, 15%, 20%. I've heard different things in the office, people are freaked out and talking but it's all just rumors so far. Also, which groups will be affected and locations. Good luck all.

Watch out for large Indirect take overs

Why are partners like Victra hiring a bunch of former Verizon people?

Are they getting ready to take over more than just retail stores?

Will they also be opening their own contact centers to manage the customers they activate and support?

All interesting potential moves that show you the possible work being done and fast.
