Raise % for Above and Beyond

Curious if anyone received an Above and Beyond rating and what % raise you received? I know of one colleague who did and their raise was 4%, which only equates to a couple thousand dollars more per year than if they had received a Meets rating and 2% raise. Doesn't seem worth it to put in extra effort and go "Above and Beyond".

What about those that received a Meets rating. What % raise did you receive?

Make USB pay

Just a reminder that with bonuses coming up, it’s a great time to donate to your favorite charities through the now sort of hidden and hard to find Community Possible Employee Center and force USB to 100% match up to $2,500 worth of charitable donations.

I figure it’s one way to make up for the pathetic or non-existent merit increases while donating to places that need it in these troubling times.

Decreased Merit Percentage for Transferring Employee

Just looking for info/ opinions:

Does anyone else see a potential for management to reduce an employee's merit when the said employee will be transferring to a different department/ segment in 3 weeks?

Example: Management was capped at giving 1% merit increases to their team; they reduce the merit percentage to the employee who is transferring to 0.5% and give the difference to the other employees.

Unlimited PTO is not the problem

Why aren't we complaining about the laughable 401K match or the limited medical coverage? CDW could contribute $10K to our 401k's today and that would mean more to me than a few days of vacation pay when I leave, or beef up the medical or just give reasonable cola increases? 3% isn't close to actual anything when our base pay isn't even average ---so maybe we should focus on overall benefits that would be incentives to stay.
Calling them merit raises is insulting to people who work hard for this company and get little recognition, but we always seem to find the big money to pay those directors and vp's . Cut the exec pay and use it to pay the people who do the work, then we could have less need for layoffs

Curious how merit increases will be this year

Last Spring they basically demoted all the Sr managers and everyone got put under a director for the most part... Those directors suddenly had a minimum of 20 directs and, managing at least two entirely different teams.

Meaning that the director hasn't known jack p-o about what any one individual is ACTUALLY doing/contributing for the last year... I'm expecting a minimal raise but I guess one can hope for a bit more than that

No merit increase but they want goals on 2/28

They want goals but won’t give increases for job done all year. They feel we do not deserve increases so I also don’t feel they deserve any goals since they don’t want to pay. They say use AI to write your unattainable goals so we can put all of you on a PIP and get rid of you. Sc--w you Elcio.

The future of merit/bonus/LTI

Putting this out here now for those of us who try to survive another year. Expect that merit will continue to be extremely minimal, and the company will move to more of a bonus/LTI system.
When they pay larger merit, they have to keep up with those increases year over year regardless of profits. If I give you a $5000 raise, I am now committed to paying you at least that salary as long as you’re around. Now multiply that times thousands of employees.
A bonus however is one time. I’m only committed to that amount THIS year.
LTI is worse, I promise to pay if you stay for 3 years, but if I lay you off, I’m freed from that obligation.

So expect the company to continue to lean heavier on bonus and LTI (aka paying it out at 90-100%), versus seeing larger merit pools going forward.

At least buy me dinner first

2% annual raise AND a 5 day RTO?
This place never fails to amaze me lol 😂

The lowest raise possible even after exceeding expectations, buying a new bank, record profits, and an ATH stock market price… literally RUN if you think of staying or applying here.

Oh and I get to use that raise for the new parking garage fees :) bill u sly dog u…

My work ethic is going to change

This Friday when I have my performance evaluation, if I do not get a merit (haven’t had one in two years) I am totally giving up on my work ethic. I can no longer let this team think this is okay and that I will continue to work hard. At this point I’m blaming direct manager and above them. I’m tired of us always blaming this man behind the curtain. Our managers are agreeing to this and they are at fault at this point too. Them just agreeing and going on with their day while they get $20k bonuses means they are at fault. I suggest you blame them too.

Stay strong. Keep yourself clean. Keep your values. Keep your integrity. Don’t become infected.

I had a target on my back and hung in there the whole time. Actually succeeded and exceeded in the complete he-l and misery a few (managers) made my life for years.

We are talking years.

YEARS.

My marriage, family life, and social life were all deeply affected in the worst ways possible.
These truly rotten to the core managers who are hallowed out without a trace of their sole left really ruined my life. Do they know or care? I doubt it. Would they probably find some kind of satisfaction in it? Probably.

It took being diagnosed with the worst to escape.

I won’t say it for confidentiality reasons, but I don’t know how much time I have left.

Was the years of misery worth it? No.

At the time, during the most miserable period of existing, I couldn’t swallow letting 1-2 people (managers) people push me out of the company I have worked so hard and had so much dedication to for years.

I suffered all of it. The whole playbook. What were meant to be Impossible workloads that I made possible, 0% merit increase, 0 recognition from direct management, (although I would get praises from other business lines because of my work ethic which of course is non existent in my year end review), isolation, rumor spreading, manipulation, sabotage, out right lying in my reviews and grading my work. It’s all there. Not going to say everything here. But it’s all there.

I stayed true to my work ethic the entirety and that brings a mix of emotions. On one hand I feel good that my intentions were always pure no matter what, and I truly hope I made a difference for someone else in my work even if it was only the slightest. On the other hand, I feel incredibly sad that it was to the overall benefit to managers who gave me he-l on earth.

I am sorry for everyone here. Please take a step back if it gets overwhelming and put yourself first.

If you can’t put yourself first, because you have to take care of business then remember to NEVER lose faith and always hold it close.

Merit Delay

Anyone else find it sus that merit got delayed to 2/16? That aligns with multiple reports of layoffs on 2/16. People on my team are hearing the managers are going to deliver severance papers instead of merit to those who are being let go. Normally I don’t listen to rumor but the dates are lining up and leaders are very quiet lately and I think they’re avoiding having to talk to us. Everything was so rush-rush before OE but they’re silent now. Then we get an email that a bunch of people got forcefully moved and were supposed to work hard and feel safe?

No Promotions in 2026

Just got word from a friend who is a manager that only 0.25% (1 in 400) employees will have the opportunity to receive a promotion in 2026. This is supposed to be very hush hush and hid from employees. If offered a promotion, you will get 4-7% of a bump in pay.

This might have already been said before, but I couldn't believe it. If I get exceeds every trimester, I will still not get a promotion is what this manager said. It might have to get approval at GP level.

I might have been naive with everything. Time to start looking at other jobs.

Merit this year

So, now that reviews should start coming back, what low % are we looking at this year for ‘above meets’ or whatever label they’re using now? I’m considering posting out to a lower level position. My thinking is if they can’t pay me for the additional workload I e taken on I might as well just work a lower level position that actually reflects my salary and make life a bit easier on myself. Anyone else thinking the same?

Disappointed

Disappointed in the firm. Not only was I reimagined , received a demotion and changed from salary to hourly, but that put me into a category where my merit raise is about 1% and bonuses are half of what I used to get . Not to mention the force back to office 4 days a week, tracking your location when you open up documents. Since when did this turn into highschool?
Why is this happening? I have been at the firm a long time. Nothing like this has ever happened. So much for work life balance
