I was included in the layoffs and a team member just informed me that our boss instructed the team to have very minimal if any communication with me at all through the 19th and after as well. Anyone else seeing this? Not sure what the reasoning would be behind it we normally just have friendly conversations. 😔

Same. Got removed from team calls immediately. Any turnover calls with coworkers my direct mgt scheduled and had to be on it. Tried to schedule a goodbye call with the team, and was told to cancel it, that there were concerns about Code of Conduct and what would be said.
@OP your boss is a je-k
@OP Once you leave you will be considered an outsider Begone peasant.
So for my "goodbye tour" of chats - I have a short list of those to chat with before Dec 19. Those are they who were friendly, helpful, and with whom we shared and smiled about non-work chit chat. The list is small.
People who can influence how much you get paid at work, directly or indirectly, are not your friends no matter how much they fake it and pretend to be. Sorry you have to think that way, but it’s naive to think any other way. doesn’t matter how much they fake it. Some people legitimately care and are good people but a good majority warm up just to manipulate things in a way to benefit themselves.
Companies burn bridges!
Co-workers are not your friends!
It is awkward for those of us not impacted by the riff. However, we need to su-k it up and chat with our impacted work friends.
Wake the F up. They aren't your friends.
In the future, when they need something, they will act like your friends. Ghost them the same way they are ghosting you.
Maybe they are ghosting me and I just haven’t realized it, but my calls have definitely slowed down. Totally fine with me. They can completely leave me alone for all I care. About to take this sev and leave this cr-p shoot so fast on my last day.
Once you move your lines to T-mobile, you'll be able to communicate without issues
No one cares, move on!
Your work “friends” are not your friends and likely would not even talk to you unless you work together. Sorry that is the truth. Good luck.
I'm glad my Mgr. has been ghosting me. The one time I did hear from her, she talked about herself and how she needed to take time off because of how traumatizing the layoffs have been. BTW, she's keeping her job!
I also plan to ghost VZ back, logging off on the 19th and seeeee ya ...they can figure it all out.
Yes, I am with this. Your Indian servant, Arvind Basra
Being ghosted, just another senseless indignity.
I haven't heard one peep from my boss since the 11/20 8:00am call! Classy!
As far as I'm concerned, if you cant even reach out to me, then I'm not reaching out to you to hand off my work! Good luck to the remaining employees spending extra time TRYING to figure out what has been done and where the RIF'd employees left off! What a joke Verizon has become! Good riddance!
@OP Yep, happening with our HQ team, we no longer exist. Just more of that world class retail experience.
@a3 yeah I haven’t caused any drama or anything so not sure what the deal is. That’s why I made this post to see if it was a message that is company wide and just came from the top down or if it is specific to my team…
That’s a horrible way to be treated, especially if you’ve worked hard to contribute value to the company. With layoffs this massive, ANYONE could lose their job. Just another reminder that this company really doesn’t care about you and your colleagues are not your friends.
