Another round of layoffs for VSE
Another 6 people in my group of 30 got layoffs yesterday from VSE in RA. Came out of nowhere.
Of course they kept some of the more useless people.
I haven't seen anything posted about it. Strangely quiet and quick.
How do you know when you are next?
I know there probably isn't a way to know if a RIF is coming for you but thought I would ask if anyone in hindsight saw some clues or saw the writing on the wall ahead of time? I am pretty overworked with responsibilities but have for the last several years reported to different people who do not (and have not made any effort) to learn even at a high leve what I do or take any interest in my work. I assume me being generally overlooked means I will eventually be next but then again maybe not because my supervisory team will not want to pick up my work when I am gone since they are so unfamiliar? I am ready for whatever comes. A little worried that someday Elevance my get rid of sub pay -because why not it is a cost to them- and that worries me.
The amount of Alaska EOIs is concerning
It feels like there are more unhappy people that went the EOI route due to either being tired of their incompetent supervisor/management, or tired of the never ending “initiatives” that folks dream up. The office politics these last few months has been impressive. You can definitely tell who’s got their suction in the right pit.

Why are we having layoffs ahead of layoffs?
We're supposed to have layoffs on November 20, and yet every day somebody posts about this or that group being affected by cuts. Are people lying or is there really an ongoing pre-layoff happening, and if it is, what's its point?

Something is up. A few of my peers told me they stopped getting their usual invites for calls and meetings. Seems like the process may have already “unofficially” started.
Lists are getting created
On the floor at BR.. seeing many VPs ,Sr Dr are having meetings that are not work related.
Sr Dr are meeting one by one with this VP.. most likely lists are getting generated.
Is this really the goal?
Layoffs are every other week these days. Gotta cut cut cut those costs. Still need to get under 90k employees. Only 35k more to go. Eventually it will hit the techs, but I’m sure only the junior most people to reduce costs.
Is 90k something that has been officially confirmed as the end goal or are people just guessing?

Has anyone heard about any layoffs this week? Optum just noticed a lot of nurses . I just saw a coworker who was let go at the beginning of the year and is still looking. It’s really tough out there finding good paying jobs.
Layoffs November 20th
Layoffs have already started with multiple Market presidents. Just check Workvivo. Notice there’s some we don’t hear from lately. They gone! These layoffs are starting from the top and trickling down. A lot of Senior Directors and Directors are next. They are keeping them around to deliver the bad news to retail stores. Be aware of any open positions not being filled or weird last minute moves to save good employees from being cut. It’s simple math less stores, less retail employees, less Directors, less R2B and the dominos fall. Be very nervous if you get a calendar invite for a mandatory meeting between Nov18-20. Or if you start to see routine meetings canceled. Most likely you will be impacted in some way. Most executives have some knowledge just look at how a lot of Presidents, VPs, and Senior Directors are silent. That’s because they are already out of the business or will be soon. Go ahead and test it ask about why your President or VP has been off the grid lately.
Advice needed
I have an offer from Carelon in the behavioral health area. I’ve heard the person that heads that business is a good leader (CP) but the person above her I should stay away from in Carelon (BW) I work in a similar field today but this is a promotion and seems like a good opportunity. I’m just concerned about what I’m hearing about the other leader. Any advice.

saw my SD in the hallway - she looked very upset. I asked her what's up and she pulled me into a room.
She just learned she's out. Layoffs will be 20% across all bands, all BUs, all geos, all everything. SVPs, VPs, stores, GN&T, everything. Looks like I'm on the list, too.
Any idea how hard Russo's org is going to be hit with upcoming layoffs?
