Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Goodbye IFP

Did you anyone receive them email that was sent out this morning about Cigna getting rid of IFP plans starting in 2027? What does this mean for our jobs? If Cigna is no longer offering IFP PLANS starting 2027, does this mean employees in that department will also be fired? I’m just trying to understand all of this.

Evicore’s “strategic alternatives” can include a wide range of options. I am leaning more on the 3 scenarios below. Evanko isn’t talking about organic growth or entering new markets.
If anything, Cigna has been offloading, they divested MA now ending IFP in 2027…

  1. Restructuring or cost optimization

  2. Divestitures or selling

  3. Turnaround or liquidation strategies

Why are people commenting about EviCore? OP asked about IFP. Try to stick to one topic.

IFP is being shut down and Cigna is planning to sell EviCore. Keep the two straight.

Yes, everyone’s job in IFP is absolutely at risk. The business is being shut down and will cease to exist. And, unlike CGI, I don’t think Cigna will sell it to anyone. It’s not worth anything and the membership is small.

@a6 Divestiture appears certain, based off the note near the end about portfolio shaping strategy history.

IFP was garbage since its inception.

AI is about to take over evicore’s role.

You don’t need employees to run an offering that will cease to exist.

It means Evicore is gone. Anyone in that area should not ignore or assume things will be okay. They won't, and the email from Brian was your wakeup call.

I received it was well. Not sure what it means for those of us left with evicore, I would assume more layoffs inbound
