I looked up my role's pay band last week. I'm five thousand below the bottom number. What do I even do with that information?

Ask your manager for a salary adjustment then wait 6 months while HR sits on it.
Like others have said, it's probably based on your location. I made 95% of my target because I was in a LCOL area. Still, it's bs that you're that close to the minimum.
I was in the same boat and asked for a salary correction which I eventually received and was at the very bottom of the range.
I retired, but I used to have the spreadsheet with all positions with low, mid, and max. You could find it easily on the company intranet before they went to Pulse/Workday. It had the bands for all positions by region with National, then the plus and minus range bands off of National. Example my state was National band, but California associates in the same position (HCOL) could make $10 to $15k more than me based on cost of living, someone in a LCOL would have a band less than I had.
How do you look up the band?
My opinion, look for a job elsewhere.
It could be because of the state you live in. There isn’t a set range across the board, it will be adjusted by market. So if you live in a state with low cost of living but they are posting for a state with high cost of living the range will be different.
