It’s impossible to operate this way!

Cisco has decided to completely destroy its sales channels step by step. The frustration is enormous not only among business partners but also among salespeople. Every two weeks they raise prices, there is no strategy, the products are overpriced, and the worst thing is that there is really no listening ear at Cisco.

GE Vernova, formerly a part of General Electric, spent $70 million to buy a distribution center in Rostraver last month, adding to the Massachusetts-based power generation equipment manufacturer’s strong Pennsylvania presence.

Westmoreland County property records show GE Vernova subsidiary GE Renewables Grid LLC purchased the more than 700,000-square-foot property from Gordon One LLC.

GE Vernova, which is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., was created when General Electric split into three companies in 2024.

GE Vernova did not immediately respond to questions about its plans for the property along Finley Road known as Amcel Center Two. The company leased about 150,000 square feet in the building prior to buying it.

Never work in Fire In-Office Claims

I came over from Express last year and work in FPS. This place is a complete and total insane asylum. My TM is ok but they have the look of disgust on their face every time I see them. The SMs and CMs are complete and total check the box re-ards. Bad people. This department has no structure, is backwards in everything it does and the workload is ridiculous. All we do is clean up Proximities messes and have stupid work load expectations. We were told the other day in a meeting that almost 80% of the people in this department have been here 2 years or less. Do not even consider coming to work in Fire company. This place is just soul ki-ling he-l hole. I'm interviewing and just trying to find anything and I will leave. My friend that came over with me quit when she got her EIP. Already got a job not in insurance! SF is just an evil company, pure trash!

The emperor has no clothes

I want to remind everyone here the actual power you have.

They are scared of you, all of you.

In 2018, a bunch of women spoke up with the metoo headwind with mostly unsubstiantiated claims, it collapsed the entire SLT

in 2024, JD was forced out after that embarrassing zoom call after employee protests.

EH is spending a fortune on PR and comms to maintain a polished facade.

Every move they make, every crocodile tears, every belligerent action they conduct is coming from this fear.

These people are horrified of mass protests, walkouts or another JD moment.

That is why they float the layoff dagger over your heads to scare you to inaction while they cash in their cushy checks without doing anything.

The emperor has no clothes

Obviously intentional, not incompetence

The company eventually achieved the Grand or GRAT target of 50 billion.
Well done, you may have sold your sole to do it.

Now, well the market is always hard, and these businesses, International Footwear and Apparel are competitive, fickle, and were roiled by COVID and Now Tariffs.

A managed teconstruction to a profitable 35 billion dollar firm, with International Licensees, like China would certainly serve TAK better.

RTO up next?

Please someone convince me why Oracle doesn't implement return to office policies. David Ellison has made his companies go back for 5 days a week. Most of the other big tech companies are at least hybrid. I feel like they want us to leave, and man this would REALLY make me leave. It's our only remaining unique quality :/

Can someone explain to me what Cisco's strategy is?!

During Chambers' time, there was a very clear strategy and vision: to be number one or two in every product line that Cisco sells, combined with a vision to change the way we live, learn, and play. Today, there is no vision or strategy at Cisco. What is important is to maintain profit margins only. Over the past decade, Cisco has lost significant market share in every product line it sells, and in some of them it has long since ceased to be number one or two.

Kluge Interactive Halves Staff Amid Major Layoffs

Kluge Interactive, developer of Synth Riders, confirmed major layoffs. These staff reductions occurred in December and January. CEO Arturo Perez stated the team was cut in half. The studio now employs 50 people, down from 100 last year. Synth Riders revenue is insufficient to support the larger team.

Novo Nordisk May See Further Job Reductions

An investment strategist anticipates more layoffs at Novo Nordisk. Lars Hytting of Arthascope made this prediction. He expects approximately 4,500 employees could be affected. This follows a large round of job cuts last fall. Companies often reduce staff when revenue or earnings decline.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Reorganizes, Hundreds Laid Off

Sony Pictures Entertainment is undergoing a major operational restructuring. The company will eliminate hundreds of roles across its film, TV, and corporate divisions. These changes are described as strategic for growth, not primarily cost-driven. New focus areas include franchise strategy, anime, and video game adaptations. CEO Ravi Ahuja communicated these organizational shifts in a staff memo.

Oracle showed true colors early and often. Most (smart) people adapted (or simply left)

20+ year employee here from Support. I'll simply state this - had about 5 solid years out of the company and then you could see the downhill slide. Phased out bonuses and pushed salaried employees to be hourly long before that. 3% raise every 3 years (so effectively 1% a year) that puttered out about 8 years ago when they went to stacked ranking. That was the beginning of the end as only the top 5% - 10% of teams were rewarded and that was with RSUs (presumably to instill loyalty through vesting). Stacked ranking actually would take 16 member teams and only two would get Exceeds or Outstanding. 3 tops. That left 13 team members just bumbling hearing the words "o focal this year".

The deal su-ked for the bulk of employees and even the ones that went above and beyond didn't do well as RSUs became the only reward and raises - kaput. No cost of living increase at all in the highest inflation we've seen in 50 years. It was a raw deal but at that point you just pivot and make it comfortable. I took every advantage over Oracle that they exercised over me. I still did fine on reviews and was still top 20% contributor but that was done with the bare minimum of effort. Oracle wasn't "family" and I never let myself believe it was anything more than transactional. I used the benefits I had liberally and took what was available simply because if you wanted a "reward" it was best to simply decide what that was and execute it oneself. Clearly that didn't mean anything financial but overall it worked out. I wasn't butt hurt when I got the email the other day simply because I had truly checked out about 2012. I just looked at it like a nice 13 year annuity where I gave them minimal effort and they rewarded me with nothing for that effort other than continued employment. I did the math once and based on the time I worked there I actually made less in present day dollars than I did when I started. I didn't never get a true raise but I made less walking out the door than I did walking in. Crazy. Who structures a company like that? I know, many do but not the great ones. Microsoft tried it in the late Balmer years and it failed an an epic manner and they corrected course.

Can you build a successful company and culture like that? Probably not. I think these layoffs ki-l morale of anybody still within Oracle and any new recruits or offers will be very, very cautious about making a move. I truly believe to create something great you have to treat your people great. They did up until about 2003-2004. Gradually it became worse and worse and worse until they have what they have now.

Again, no hard feelings here. I think in my career there I dodged something like 15 layoffs but this truly was the one you didn't want to miss. The people left (on my team at least) to turn the lights off will be miserable as they are now massively understaffed. AI and maybe H1Bs or offshoring may provide some backfill but who knows and who cares. I wish the whole experience was better from start to finish and I could have had a career there I was proud of and ended with something akin to a gold watch, but that was never in the cards at Oracle. I simply bet on the wrong horse but I can honestly say I made the best of it, liked the gig and just never gave more value to Oracle than they gave to me. Again, transactional and you can't miss something you never cared all that much about.

Bloated workforce

Qualcomm employs over 52k with little or nothing to show for all that. Why do you guys need so many people to collect license royalties? Companies like Broadcom generate massive revenue/market-cap per employee. You guys are in the same space right?

So what is the problem with Qualcomm being in forever in the toilet?
