It's the same old same old: "We just put in a work order". The forever "work order". The AC (when it works) is turned on one hour before the store opens and is turned off one hour before the store closes. Because of the mammoth space the AC needs to cool (again, when it works) the store takes hours to cool down- especially when turned off for hours overnight.
The only time the AC miraculously works is when there is a corporate visit. It's all cost-cutting: no escalators, no full lights on until just before the store opens to the public. Never mind the fact that there are employees starting work three, sometimes four hours before the store opens doing markdowns, signing and pulling fulfillment orders MOSTLY IN THE DARK. It's all about "saving money" which is different from "making money", a concept that Macy's can't seem to differentiate. I could go on and on- but what is the point? Maybe if the company starts receiving customer surveys with a big fat zero satisfaction rating because the store is like shopping in an oven, maybe then, we will see some change. Until then, call the executive office daily and say "customers" are complaining about the heat (even if they aren't) and pray for a C-suite visit. Stay cool all!
My store currently has no AC working in BKS and mens suits. Both of these areas tend to have the most customers and sales. The other areas have AC and they’re not busy. It’s so awful to work with no AC. They say it will be fixed soon.
My store is so hot too. It never feels like the air conditioner is on. We have 2 fans plugged in behind the register too to help us stay cool a little. Customers always complain about how hot it is too. Macys can do better to keep everyone cool during the hot days & summer.
@az OSHA doesnt cover air or heat
call OSHA .. see how fast macys fixes the AC !
Same here but I'm supposed to run around and put out clothing and clean out fitting rooms while sweating to death.
