Getting crammed up into a single floor, but at least we get to WFH until then!

@xr Unless they already have a buyer li ed up that insisted on tbe work being done before the sell.
It was said in the all hands last week that they are looking to sell the bldg and lease the first floor.
But Dell is committed to OKC.
My colleague who went to both sessions said they never said that in the first when asked for clarification.
Take that for what it's worth.
@e6 They wouldn't be spending money to remodel for months if they were closing the site they would just close it.
@ps Feels like the Draoer Utah building will be closed soon too.
They should close the OKC building.
That site is on the way out. Be prepared.
@c5 I don't know the answer to your first question... But as for the other questions? The answer is all YES.
My previous manager - before the random middle mgt org change-up - was remote, but then became hybrid. He was going into a small satellite office near him most days and they decided to shut down that office, which effectively forced him to be full remote.
The cherry on top of this is that he was a Sr. Manager, who was - along with most sr. managers - demoted to a consultant level IC grade and made into a glorified PM, basically... Problem is, is that now that they closed his office down and was FORCED to be remote, he quite literally can NEVER be promoted again... unless he relocates his entire family.
He is a fantastic person and manager and it's literal BS that he is now stuck in a "dead end job."
hearing OKC will close soon. OKC teams will have the option to relocate to Nashville or Round Rock. If not able to relocate, thank you for your service
Is it true that a portion of OKC employees are going to be re-classified as remote? If so, wouldn't that make them ineligible for promotions? So you played the rules Dell set, went into the office like they wanted you to, now you're being held back from career progression because Dell decides to downsize your office?
I believe they are in the middle of more restructuring. When will it end? Who knows. Shareholders love it. They are making more money. The AI march continues!
but what about all those 30 second chats that happen... what about the drop in productivity... ohhh the collaboration, somebody think of the collaboration... WFH when it suits them...
