Trying to ease the anxiety over here - good to know what's down the road for us. No way Deerfield can handle the OPO overflow. Parking lot is full most days. Earlier someone posted expected layoffs of 400 in January. Does anyone have any updates... — read more
When are the layoffs?
It’s been awfully quiet
Should I give a 2 week notice?
I've had friends in other companies who gave their notice, only to be terminated on the spot. The professional thing is to give notice, but I am afraid that if I do, I will be let go on the spot.
What's up with IT?
Can someone in IT who's been here a long time explain what the problem really is in your opinion and if there's a way out of our current problematic situation or is it a lost cause. I'm genuinely curious. I've heard some takes but looking for a more... — read more
Bonus Change
People are rumbling at the support center about a change in bonus, making it a long-term incentive or something like that. Does anyone have a communication summary on that? I think it only went to Sr. Managers and up.
Do we really think this will stop at 80 people?
I’m truly sorry for everyone who was laid off, it’s heartbreaking to see. But I can’t shake the feeling this may not be the end of it. I think it’s wise to stay alert and keep an eye out for other opportunities, just in case.
Why no WARN Notice for recent layoffs??
Ok, so the email confirming 80 layoffs came out today. Why wasn't Walgreens on the WARN list? I check it daily to try and guess when I'm going to get canned. I guess it will be a total surprise. How fun!
Was this aimed at older employees?
The few people I know who were cut are all in their 40s and above. Was that intentional?
How's today looking?
Any more cuts?
Policy changes
Now that layoffs are starting when we hear on policy changes
Which teams have been hit?
I’ve seen some people mentioning Finance. Who else? Good luck to us all.
Is the layoff communication coming out today?
Anyone? Email today? Tomorrow? What do you think?
Things to come
It's hard to imagine any positive scenario for the worker now that Sycamore is in the driver's seat. Private Equity is brutal and anyone in bed with PE will go through multiple cycles of pain and tears. At this point we'll have to see how small of an... — read more
Severance Pay Question
Does anyone have more information about the current severance pay rules and if it differs from what they were traditionally allocating?

Here Come The Layoffs
Finance just got hit..
I think I'm about to either be fired or laid off
I've got so few things to do that I’m mostly standing around waiting for work. I went from being overworked to this within a month, which is how I know it's not an accident. Has anybody else been in a similar position? What can I expect?
When are the layoffs happening?
Are the layoffs this week or next week? Any credible sources?
I can barely manage the commute to Deerfield
I can only imagine many others are in an even worse predicament than I am. And for what? RTO has been rolled out across the country for quite a while now, and there’s plenty of data showing that none of the things they talk about, like collaboration... — read more
Just received word
Stores to start processing Amazon returns in an effort to drive foot traffic to the stores. Amazon customers will also receive a 5% off coupon when they return an item.
Useless town halls
What's the point of them when nothing useful is ever said?
Ok gang. Let's tone down the rhetoric.
Let’s focus on winning new customers, at the corner of happy and healthy. And having their best interest at heart.
So why didn’t the whiny complainer from OPO mention we are getting bonuses?
He complained about his long commute, uprooting his family, a full parking lot, no car…typical Ginger stuff. But he didn’t mention the bonus part. Yes, bonuses of over 100% multiplier for many departments. Oh…we can’t mention good news. Yes, there... — read more
Consistently working in Deerfield four days a week is essential to fostering collaboration and driving Walgreens’ success
Says the executive living in a multimillion-dollar home just 30 minutes from Deerfield, with a $100,000 car parked in a heated garage. If I were making $500,000 a year, I’d probably enjoy the daily commute in a brand-new Mercedes too. If executives... — read more
Upvote or comment on this thread if you do NOT want to return to office at Deerfield four days a week!
Listening to the Townhall now, leadership turned off the user comments on the video. Surely, leadership knew the text chain would be a constant barrage of employees stating they do NOT want to return to office at Deerfield.

It'll be a one hour word salad. Drink plenty of water to avoid a headache.
The Deerfield office parking is full
I don’t know how they can accommodate OPO people.

Is it time to unionize?
Who is interested?
I sure hope we find out more at the Town Hall
Especially about the remotes. Who in their right mind would relocate for a job, only to risk losing it a few months later anyway?
OPO closing lol
We can't fit everyone at the Deerfield office but that's the point: Layoffs are inevitable and they want people to quit. Stick it out for your severance and WARN act pay.
Sometimes, I daydream that all Walgreens Corporate Employees ALL Quit
They don’t care about us at the Support Office. Everything is so Field-focused now and if they want that, then they can run the show at Corporate themselves. I’d love to see what happens if everyone just mass quits, ha!
First Walgreens, now Target is also being looked at for purchase by Private Equity Firms!!!
Walgreens was just purchased by Sycamore. I just read a news article that says Target is also being looked at by private equity firms as well! Are all retail stores pretty much doomed at this point. Wow. Factors influencing the buyout... — read more

Sycamore Rumors and Changes

This job is crushing me
I can’t handle this place anymore. Being so anxious I need meds just to make it through a shift shouldn’t be normal, but somehow it is here.
