Word is new seating assignments have been announced in Deerfield support office. But that the areas assignments for the most part aren't big enough to accommodate all the team members. Also, that the parking lot will be 325-350'ish spots short once OPO staff join in Deerfield in 10 days. Anyone hearing anything else? Feels too quiet this week.

@f9 you must be really fun to hang out with
Being in office does NOT foster collaboration! That's Boomer thinking. Modern corporate workers like a hybrid model of 2-3 days tops in office. Commuting is very expensive and adds hours to the workday. And none of us interact that much in person anyway. We all go into huddle rooms and jump on Teams meetings.
I hate coming in 4 days a week and can't wait to find another job!
@f9 WFH came about as resulted of Covid. Wasson put Walgreens on a trajectory for failure long before Covid. Normally, I'd agree that coming to an office to work is important as it fosters collaboration. Working in a Walgreens call center, the environment is more like a prison where employees are the inmates. If we were required to work in-house, I'd quit in an instant. Definitely not worth the gas, wear and tear and commute time on what Walgreens pays.
Let hope they layoff most of the people that complain about having to come in to work. The company real decline started with the people working from home. The level of support that they were providing was just awful. Another terrible move was opening the OPO total waste of money. Shout out to new owners for closing it up and making workers come back to Deerfield. Let’s hope they right size the team and hold them accountable to the great work that use to be performed before WFH started.
@ek Spaces for the OPO people had already been determined. I saw the seating charts.
This is something different.
Deerfield campus rearrangement has just been postponed due to additional work leadership would like to do to figure out where people should be moving to. Will have to figure it out when OPO folks need spaces to work near their teams.
The layoffs will happen at the end of the pay period. Makes it easier for Payroll.
If they can't wait until the end of the month, layoffs usually happen on a Friday or Monday, again for payroll purposes. Does not matter if people are WFH on Fridays - they will just contact you via Teams.
Just be mentally prepared. We all know it's coming.
Layoffs of the plebs aren't officially announced. Most people hear about someone being laid off in a meeting or via email if it happens to be a person they may know. The total number is not communicated. Sometimes you only learn about it when you join a meeting and certain people don't join.
Not gonna happen tomorrow, they won't layoff on a Friday anyway when most WFH...
@OP Seating areas have been assigned (not actual assigned seats) in Deerfield. We are all supposed to report to our new locations on Monday. No idea what parking will look like.
They might do a mass layoff on Friday to solve the possible parking issue. Would not surprise me one bit!
Would love not having to drive here any longer. HATE coming in 4 days a week for no real reason! We don't collaborate at all - we just get together and complain and trade job leads. They are so d-mb for paying for the Deerfield campus to keep running. It's pointless. All of us are looking for hybrid or remote jobs.
I’m in Deerfield and have heard nothing about seating assignments or the opo transition plan
