Dr-g Testing

I wonder how panelists would feel if they knew that the Field Reps going into their homes, and driving through their neighborhoods are not dr-g tested? Huge liability for Nielsen as many of their field employees are under the influence at work, especially in states with legal ca--abis.

Field Reps! How’s it going?

So I’ve been gone a year now as a field rep and when I left SMP had just rolled out. I remember having to adapt to the new hybrid position but was curious how much has changed since then. I do know reps had to take on quite a few more homes and wasn’t sure how the field was going to get everything done. Is management at least offering overtime and scheds/flags/some faults done remotely to help keep down the hours? Hope all of the field reps are doing well, a good life-work balance and aren’t overly stressed. Best wishes to you all! Thank you.

Meanwhile in Midland and Carlsbad

Hard to believe some of the latest managers are long term employee and have no clue about the basics of the oil and gas industry. Instead of the old managers from just a few years ago who would be in the field shoulder to shoulder with us, we now have managers that fly in from Houston and go to the field for 30min and brag about it on social media and in the townhalls.

Field teams keep this place running

Every time I look around, it feels like leadership keeps growing while the people doing the real work get ignored. The folks out in the field carry the weight and never get the credit. Meanwhile the top keeps collecting massive paychecks without seeing what is actually happening. How's that fair?

Field Assurance Next

Since much of the maintenance on the network has been turned over to contractors, I wonder how much longer will VZW’s Field Assurance Engineers (aka cell tech’s) last before they are caught up in the next round of layoff’s? Lots of long term employees with little to do….

MST home dispatch tech use and abuse company assets do not follow contract guidelines

MST home dispatch tech use and abuse company assets. They drive 100K-200K bucket trucks to their home and back to their home garage everyday. Big V8 6.3 L engines use a lot of gas and insurance on top. Also, with MST high pay and only have .5 job per tech a day per tech how is that saving company money and liability.
There are rules to follow when joining home dispatch program. Following the rules helps save gas and time and wear and tear on a vehicle used to drive to work and to home. But MSTs abuse this program from driving to the garage every day and dispatching at the garage. Making a stop at the grocery store to grocery shop in the company vehicle before driving home. Not closing your last job at the job site and instead, drive home and being still dispatched on your work ticket and then closing the job when you arrive home. I follow the rules, and I do not want the home dispatch program to go away because of MSTs taking advantage of the abuse. Also, MST managers are favoring many MSTs and letting the home dispatch MSTs do what ever they want. STOP ABUSING THE HOME DISPATCH PROGRAM YOU MSTs. You know who you are...

Field Wants

To switch things up. I have a question. I'm not ELT, not a GP, nor high ranking DL. I'm just a professional associate in my 30s with 15 years experience at this firm and industry. I am in FA facing role, so we have most likely have spoken.

I am curious to what the field actually wants HQ to look like or be. I'm sure you have answered, but I'm not in a position to see those answers. Since this is all anonymous, I figured I could get good perspective. Are service areas still valued? Or should HQ just provide tools and tech, then you at the branch will perform the OPs work?

Should the firm abandon compliance and legal and push risk onto each individual branch?

I know you FAs give up a big portion of pay, so I am just curious and how you envision a Home Office environment if one at all?

After Tuesday things are changing. Maybe for the HQ associates still around, the answers you provide could help. I know I don't mind constructive criticism. But we ultimately have an HR department, so we may not always hear real opinions. What are some real talking points and opinions from the field about HQ?

Make the field remember

ER is swept under the rug for the field. The jargon makes it hard to remember that GPs, LPs and coworkers are being laid off. Some of us search it out, but most don’t see what is happening at all. MP dragged this out so that it does not seem like a big deal when it happens. Make sure you are remembered. Talk to the people in the field and tell them the sickening truth. Tell them about your fear, your anger, your exhaustion. Growth will be built upon your sacrifice, willing or not. Make sure they know. Be remembered.
