My seating assignment is between Ranjeet and Rajesh, across from Anuradha and Lakshman, and adjacent to Amit, Ishara, Suraj, Rahul, Harshika, Amulya, Sanjeev, Vijay, Pooja, and Tim.
Overall, I feel well diversified.
The reason why people in Pittsburgh mostly haven’t gotten their seating assignments is because it is a complete mess. This was a rushed require requirement to return to the office five days a week.
They tell us that they want you to come in to collaborate with your team, but there isn’t enough room on our floor for our team to sit together so some will be in our building and others will be down at firstside. It honestly is a complete disaster. For those that sit in hotel and cubes, they will have the most difficult time because people around them will all be on phone calls throughout the day and you won’t even be able to hear yourself talk. I originally was excited about the unsigned seating in the technology center, which thankfully I don’t work in anymore, but now I think it’s the worst idea that the bank could’ve made. How could anyone concentrate on their own work when you’ve got people on every side of you on a conference call? Who can concentrate like that? I certainly would not be able to. They need to get rid of the open seating. There is absolutely no benefit other than sitting so close to someone that you could pick up any illness they have. There is literally 1 foot of space between you and the person next to you. That is insane.
@ap I know me and my team are going to firstside. At least I know I am getting my own desk. I hated the hotel thing.
not yet. but team member got their seat and its 70 minutes from their home. "we love the work you're doing but you must now do it from this seat now. we don't f'n care how long it takes you to get here. just be here at 8AM sharp. safe travels. "

I did. I sit surrounded by people that I don't work with. There are a handful of people under my cc on the floor, but all randomly disbursed in the cubes.

@ap gotcha. Other states were getting their workspace earlier this week, but I haven’t heard anything in Pittsburgh.
I haven’t heard. What I do know is that they are restacking the tech tower as a bunch of teams are moving over to Firstside. I would guess that people there will hear in a week or so.
