What is the Severance Package?
Post if you know
They should have let us volunteer
I wouldn't have minded taking a severance package. Could have saved one of my teammates who I know couldn't afford to lose his job, and he did. I'll never understand why a voluntary round isn't always offered before an involuntary one. Wouldn't that be a win/win?
COBRA - Meta 18m vs Oracle 1m
Layoff email from Meta says:
Payment of COBRA (health insurance) premiums for you and your family (if they are dependents on your current plan) for 18 months.
From my friend I heard, Oracle is just paying 1m .
Layoff occurs at least monthly
I know some people got laid off last month. I got laid off today. My official termination date is 6/3, so they gave me two weeks' notice. I will receive my severance pay twice a month, just like my paycheck, and three months of COBRA. I have been with FIS for over 32 years, so it's about time to retire. I knew the writing was on the wall after they transferred me to a new group last September and then shut down the project I was working on. It's too bad, as I enjoy working on that project. They said they will still contribute to my 401K in February next year. At least I got my severance pay, unlike the poor guys who got rebadged.
Any news on the severance offered?
Have there been any changes since the last time?
Severance agreement
Is there any one who hasn't received the severance agreement yet? I ask bcos a number of people have received it.
Upcoming WFR
Does anyone know or has heard if there are changes to the severance package this year or recently?
Meta severance far better than what Oracle provided
- 16 weeks base salary
- 2 weeks per year worked
- 18 months of healthcare
I haven't heard anything on how they are handling RSUs. I know Cisco accelerated RSU vesting through August. Oracle seems to be the new low in employee severance.
TFC cannot afford severance
Hearing rumors that some departments won’t see any RIFs, not because things are stable, but because the company supposedly can’t afford severance packages.
Interesting priorities considering there’s still money for multimillion dollar golf sponsorships. Something about that doesn’t add up.
Severance
Can someone please put so.e light when will receive the severance money for someone let go in March? I don't understand can't they just have a process or automated update? There is no response even if you write to HR..
Will the ELT ever pay for their decisions?
I’m still pretty angry, honestly. Looking back on all the BS we’ve been expected to tolerate over the years, shame on me for believing accountability would ever exist at the top.
Remember the data breach? The ELT lied to investors, employees, and regulators. The company spent hundreds of millions in legal fees and hundreds of millions more trying to clean up the mess and get compliant. Did anyone at that level lose their job? Of course not. They still got their bonuses.
Then there was EverFi, a $750M acquisition that eventually turned into roughly a $400M write-down when it was sold off. Another catastrophic decision. Again, nobody in leadership paid any personal price for the failure.
Now we’re watching good people lose their jobs while roles get shifted to India, all while leadership positions themselves for one last payday if the company gets sold. They’ll walk away with tens of millions in compensation after years of bad decisions. The rest of us get 8 weeks severance and COBRA.
At some point you realize employees are just pawns in a game where leadership can fail upward indefinitely while everyone else absorbs the consequences.
Get out while you can.

EXIT DATE, PACKAGE AND INTERNAL JOBS LISTINGS
As CR stated, 75% of LR will be re-hired where needs are. True or baloney? Everyone getting four months salary with benefits, then COBRA? Exit date set to July 14?
Did team leaders announce send off and good luck meetings? Or a nice kick in rear, and message - have a nice day….
Upcoming layoff of payroll on July 1st - 10% company wide cuts.
If you are laid off how is severance determined and are you offered a pro rated bonus?

Wondering if it the same as last time.

employees who "request" layoff
Are going to be treated as voluntary quitting. Resignation, without severance.
New rule effective July 1st.
Management perception is some employees are gaming the severance system. managers are not pushing deadwood out the door fast enough.
Guess what ELT
You'll have to offer another round of severance packages to get me to leave.

Dont understand "severance"
Its not a gift.
Its called "Severance and release" for a reason. to get it, you need to sign and agreement not to sue and non-disclosure
Maybe someone can upload the pdf, although that violates the NDA lol.
It is technically negotiable, but very few people do.
It is not really severance. its mostly just release (for which you are paid).
MD Live Challenges with leaders
Is anyone else struggling with the new leaders in MD Live? It’s toxic and micro management and like I’m not allowed to have an opinion. I’m ready to leave but wish I would be packaged out and offered severance. I tried to bring it up as an option and was dismissed which seems like the current mentality in this area. Anyone else? Or anyone with suggestions? Does anyone know if there will be layoffs?
SNPS Severance package
For those of you in the US who got laid off recently, what kind of severance package did you get? I've heard various things like 2 months + some weeks based on number years (capped) + COBRA (for don't know how long), etc. I'm interested to hear from all of you in the US.
Severance package will be bad
Intuit has limited budget for severance package.
Severance pay for layoffs?
How much does the company pay in severance when there's a separation in employment? Also, do we have to sign a non compete agreement?
Just curious about something
I saw the news about cuts today and it got me wondering. Back in 2022 when Cisco let me go, they gave 60 days in lieu pay, another 60 days severance, PTO cashed out, and four months of COBRA. Does anyone know if the packages are still similar now or have they changed over the years? Just curious how it compares.
The August layoff claim is not proven...
It might happen... but people are jumping from accounting math to headcount certainty. They said fewer than 4,000 jobs in Q4. They also said notifications start 5-14 and continue globally based on local laws and regulations. OK, makes sense - it su-ks but it makes sense... That alone explains why some costs roll into FY27.
The remaining restructuring charge does not automatically mean another 4K or 5K people in Aug.... It can include severance paid later, benefits, legal and administrative costs, country-specific consultation periods, delayed effective dates, and other restructuring expenses.
Could there be mre cuts later? Sure. This's Cisco afterall. But that is different from saying Aug is confirmed...
Unless someone has an actual internal list, mgr confirmation, country schedule, or filing that says another wave is planned for Aug, the aug number is still speculation... people should stop treating it like a confirmed fact just because the 1B charge is split across Qs.
Severance package in Canada
Can anyone share what it looks like in Canada?
Actual Severance?
For those who have been terminated, how was the actual severance compared to the initial estimate letter?
Severance pay?
In case I’m one of the folks getting laid off, trying to make sure my finances in order. Does anyone know what the severance pay usually is?
Severance eligibility for recent hires
I started here not too long ago, and with all the talk about more layoffs, I'm trying to figure out what my situation would be if my name came up. Does anyone know whether people who've been here less than a year typically qualify for severance, or is that something that only kicks in after a certain amount of time?
Is it worth hiring an attorney to review separation package
I'm 63 and was told it had nothing to do with performance, so curious if its worth hiring a lawyer to review the package?
How long after layoff are you paid?
Question for those of you who have been impacted by a layoff recently: I understand that you receive a call/ meeting with HR and you are separated that day. How long after that date did you receive your regular pay (not any severance)? Also, how long did benefits continue, specifically health insurance? Thanks!
