Purpose to Poor Performance Awards!

Every single winner of this award has derailed their team project in one way or another. They don't have knowledge or skills and don't know what they are doing. I've never met one that's inteIIigent. They just know how to fake their way through the work day. And Truist never questions who really does the work behind the scenes. I would be ashamed to get this award.

Unlimited PTO is not the problem

Why aren't we complaining about the laughable 401K match or the limited medical coverage? CDW could contribute $10K to our 401k's today and that would mean more to me than a few days of vacation pay when I leave, or beef up the medical or just give reasonable cola increases? 3% isn't close to actual anything when our base pay isn't even average ---so maybe we should focus on overall benefits that would be incentives to stay.
Calling them merit raises is insulting to people who work hard for this company and get little recognition, but we always seem to find the big money to pay those directors and vp's . Cut the exec pay and use it to pay the people who do the work, then we could have less need for layoffs

Progressive Customer for 26 years.

No company is perfect.

But as a customer of Progressive for 26 years.

This is what sets them apart.

Excellent customer service overall, and recognition of tenured customers (clients).

Their website is excellent for customers also, my home; and auto policies; are both there.

If, and when; I need to call them; and need to speak to a live person; I am immediately bumped to the front of the line.

They also take care of my policy in regards to overall cost.

Not sure how State Farm does things, but wanted to mention.

Peak schmeak

Ah, the time of year where the company creates this jealousy & favoritism vibe with peak awards, many folks in my org who got it marginally deserve, but others who work tireless hours got not even a nomination…i flirted with jealousy and feeling some type of way til i was reminder many of those who got laid off were peak/winners circle, etc award winners, so in the end, does it matter?

UK Employment Rights act 2025

Summary of the UK Employment Rights Act 2025

In Relation to Union Recognition at Dell UK

The Employment Rights Act 2025 introduces significant reforms to UK trade union law, making it easier for unions to achieve statutory recognition through the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC).

For employees at Dell UK, the key changes relevant to union recognition are as follows:

  1. Lower Threshold to Trigger the Recognition Process

Previously, a union was required to demonstrate at least 10% membership within a proposed bargaining unit and show evidence that a majority of employees were likely to support recognition.

Under the 2025 reforms, the minimum membership threshold has been reduced (subject to final regulations), and the requirement to demonstrate likely majority support before a ballot has been removed or substantially simplified. This lowers the barrier for a union to formally apply for recognition.

  1. Simpler Ballot Requirements

Under earlier legislation, a recognition ballot required:
• A majority of votes cast in favour, and
• At least 40% of the entire bargaining unit to vote “yes.”

The Employment Rights Act 2025 removes the 40% threshold. Recognition now requires only a simple majority of votes cast in the ballot.

This change makes successful recognition more achievable where there is clear employee support.

  1. Recognition Without a Ballot

If more than 50% of workers in the proposed bargaining unit are union members, the CAC may grant recognition without holding a ballot. This provision remains in place.

  1. Stronger Union Access and Organising Rights

The Act strengthens union access rights, including improved ability to communicate with employees and greater workplace access for organising purposes. This may increase union engagement activity within organisations such as Dell UK.

Overall, the Employment Rights Act 2025 represents a significant shift in UK industrial relations law. It reduces procedural barriers and makes statutory union recognition more accessible where employees demonstrate sufficient support.

The full link to this legislation will be available on our Union information website as soon as it goes live in the coming weeks.

From Autumn 2026, under the Employment Rights Act 2025, we will be able to actively promote union membership and organising activity onsite at Dell UK offices in partnership with our recognised Trade Unions.

We ask all Dell workers to remain patient and stay engaged. The direction of UK employment legislation is strengthening workers’ rights and improving access to fair union recognition processes.

We will provide further updates as soon as the relevant provisions come fully into force.

Credit where credit's due

Good job, marketing and whoever approved the latest commercial. People hate AI slop so much that making a CGI commercial while directly taking on Coca Cola is the easiest win we've had in a long while. It's been a while since I've seen so much positive chatter online about Pepsi. Good job, whoever was responsible for this.

Unfairness of PepsiCo Employees

It really makes me mad that you have some PepsiCo employees who work really hard, get no recognition and/or they get laid off. Then you have those PepsiCo employees who are constantly on their cell phones, Facebook, etc. Get off your phones/Facebook people!! You’re being paid to do a job not to express your political opinions, etc., during work hours!!!

What's the real reward for hard work now?

After seeing it happen to so many dedicated people around me, I'm really questioning the whole point. You watch colleagues who got top reviews and decent raises one year get let go the next. It makes you wonder if going above and beyond actually protects you, or if it just makes you a more expensive line item. I’m starting to think the smart move is to do good work, but keep your energy and best ideas for your own life outside of here.

Why does it feel like showmanship wins?

Is it just me, or does it feel like you have to be the loudest person in every meeting to get noticed around here? I keep my head down, hit all my goals, and still feel invisible compared to the people who just talk the most. I really shouldn't have to broadcast every single thing I do just for a bit of recognition from management. It gets exhausting playing that game all the time.

Infinite

I’m not going to say I can be bought by a Harry and David gift box, but it’s awfully nice to be remembered by my employer with a gift box at the holidays. And it’s a lot more thoughtful than what fiserv gave me this year, ie nothing.

Feeling sidelined and undermined

Lately, it’s like I’m being pushed out without anyone saying it outright. Whenever I ask questions about a process, I get shut down and told to just figure it out. I’m not given the same time to learn new tasks as others, and when I flagged a coworker for mistreatment, it felt like I was the one in the wrong. Meanwhile, that coworker got promoted the same month after treating me poorly. I put in the work, my performance is strong, but recognition and support seem non-existent. Even small gestures others get, like acknowledgment on anniversaries, completely skip me. I honestly don’t know who to trust. Anyone else dealing with something similar?

Bah humbug

First, I want to acknowledge that I am grateful to currently be employed at HCSC, especially given the broader economic climate. That said, as a 25+ year employee, this is the first year I can recall not receiving any form of holiday acknowledgment. In past years, this has included something modest, such as a small gift card or approval for a team lunch.

This year, there was no recognition at all. I’ve heard that some departments may have still had small lunches or gift cards, so I’m curious whether this reflects broader financial constraints, departmental differences, or if others have had a similar experience.

Everyone gets an medal...

Oh, the irony.....

https://www.crn.com/news/running-your-business/2025/crn-women-of-the-year-2025-the-winners?page=14

But from her perspective, that all pales in comparison to her ability to always put people first, elevate rising leaders, empower countless women and leave every organization stronger than she found it.

I fired a bunch of people, I have no heart, no harmony and zero hunger... I just drove a company right off the cliff, so sure, give me a lifetime award! I even dug out my amazing expensive ugly dress that just screams Fuchsia!! I am hoping to get an invite to the Met Gala next year!

TDC Townhall

We just had a TDC Townhall and everyone was saying kudos to everyone. While recognition is good, we also received word from our TDC leaders that there is a 20% cap on the number of TDC associates who can receive a rating of for 2025. If things were so great, why impose a cap? This is so frustrating.

Regional Award Ceremonies are Kaput

Well, another Edward Jones long standing tradition has met it's end.

Regional award ceremonies will now be conducted during a week day morning instead of a nice ceremony where you can bring a spouse.

Maybe its too expensive now for the little people to be honored? Wonder if TAP trips are next?

Managers hesitate to nominate their team members for enterprise awards because they feel insecure about their own performance

Although it’s encouraging to hear that leadership wants managers to nominate and recognize top performers, insecure managers often block these individuals from receiving praise. Advice to management: why not hire leaders who genuinely care about the well-being of the people they oversee instead of just their own interests?

Renu award

It’s truly amazing that Renu got recognition for an award considering the job she’s done at both VMware and OMNISSA. I can tell you firsthand working with your is full of hyperbole and and being naive. She’s been a detriment to OMNISSA and is has a big hand in its demise.

Chairman's Award Successes?

The CA has long been a joke as almost every project that won the award eventually turned out to be a terrible investment or otherwise bad decision. CA seems to be the kiss of death. A lot of people have old CA plaques hiding in their desk drawers. Can anyone think of a CA effort that was well deserved and added value?

Uneasiness

Lots of uncertainly and nervousness after yesterday=Some nice recognition--finally !

We don't get many pats on our backs any more=just kikks in the aarse+The CEO is starting to lose the rank and file=Only 55% of company in attendance=We used to get 90% on these meetings=The sales guys seemed down and had low energy=Seemed like deers in headlights=Compassion & passion is gone+Thought process is always changing like flags flapping in wind=Meps, Peps, and fops, gops, mops, (huh?) wtf? are labor intensive, high maintain, low margin that we don't want anything to do with.

milestone anniversary awards gone?

well.. the good options anyways, gone are the good options like the airline/hotel giftcard, tiffany's jewelry, or even a giftcard to cdw itself (giftcards to anywhere are no longer an option). 10 years at the company (my friend who had their 20 year also had the same options) gets you the lovely options of: a two way radio, a dvd player, a golf club set (junior sized only, there is also a singular golf club..), and my personal favorite: a paperclip necklace.

So anyone approaching their milestone anniversaries get ready for those hot ticket items. "You Deserve IT!" the pamphlet says, but I'm pretty sure they left out an 'sh' somewhere..

Unappreciated and unnoticed

Once again the last to leave the office.
Staying late to pick up the slack for others.
Why do I do it? Why do I care?
No one notices. No one rewards.
Left behind and looked over.
Managers and VPs don’t shake my hand.
Do they even know I exist?
Feeling sad. Forgotten. Unappreciated.
If we are ExxonMobil what am I?
Not part of the club. Alone.
