Should I take that as a good sign? Or is it just the calm before the storm?

The 19th doesn't make sense for layoffs
It's pay week. That would mean all the usual habits and rules are out the window. Where is this rumor even coming from? If it's not close to an official source, it's probably not true.
DC marketing exodus
Rumor during Cisco Live was a big wave of good talent voluntarily departing from DC marketing. Not sure what's happening there?
Why 3/3 vs 2/17
I keep seeing 3/3 is the big day, but what is so special about 3/3? Has anyone heard anything about 2/17? It’s a Tuesday after the largest payday of the year. And, Monday is a holiday. For me, the application I work on is supposed to retire on 3/1 and the work I’m doing over the next 2 weeks is kind of throw away. Just curious why 3/3?
Rumors are layoffs will continue throughout the month
I don't know how we're supposed to manage that much stress.
Merit Delay
Anyone else find it sus that merit got delayed to 2/16? That aligns with multiple reports of layoffs on 2/16. People on my team are hearing the managers are going to deliver severance papers instead of merit to those who are being let go. Normally I don’t listen to rumor but the dates are lining up and leaders are very quiet lately and I think they’re avoiding having to talk to us. Everything was so rush-rush before OE but they’re silent now. Then we get an email that a bunch of people got forcefully moved and were supposed to work hard and feel safe?
Vendors?...
Does anyone know if any vendors or contractors will be effected?
Huge chance of a layoff on/before 2/24
Can anyone confirm this rumor?
There is now a PTG all-hands meeting sent out today for 8:35AM EST on 2/24.
I have a bad gut feeling about this. Too many layoff announcement red flags (meeting time, date).
This is disturbingly ominous
What's up with today's email? Extremely concerning to say the least
Layoffs feb 12 2026
Rumor has it layoffs are happening right now. Possibly dark fiber teams…anyone else heard anything?
Anybody affected so far?
Complete silence on my end so far, but I know it's coming. I'm just trying to figure out if it started yet anywhere.
SB Email just come through
And so it begins, if your manager has gone quiet you know why
Layoffs on Feb 12
Rumors have been going around for months that layoffs we’re happening in February and sure enough, got the email after hours from my manager’s manager of a meeting first thing tomorrow morning.
Changes
Beware the Ides of March.
EAP FEC Meeting
Today we had a rather disturbing EAP meeting for teams who recently lost leaders as a means to check in. While the sentiment was nice it quickly turned into , IS MY JOB SECURE?
To which we were met with nothing short of WE DONT KNOW! There a chirpings of the FEC family engagement center being shut down . I’m sure that this was the heads up today
shoe falls next wk
kev!n has a leadership call sched early next wk
shoe dropping b4 that call bcoz he announce go forward path on that call to his managers only not all ppl invited only mgrs
get ready
So 2/12 and 2/26 are supposed to be massive layoffs?
Is that what we're looking at? Media reports mention 2,000 total. We all know they lay off on non-pay weeks. Apparently, it should all be wrapped up by the end of February. If it's true, tomorrow is going to get really bad. Oh well. Not like I expected anything better.
Hands Up
Hands up if you have an unexpected meeting schedule for tomorrow morning….. 🙋🏽
Quiet
Wondering if any noise around layoffs coming before the common reviews are completed. I thought they were to be scheduled this week or next week? It seems so quiet and slow.
AP?
Where are the cuts to this useless department?
Rumors swirling but seems all talk no show
Anyone have info?
I have a feeling FT will drop the contract entirely.
Am I alone in thinking that? They are already moving CS which is a big portion of the process. What is keeping them from moving everything back? They are obviously not happy with the work that is done by FIS. I can't even imagine how bad the cooperation between FT CS and FIS Operations/Support will be.
Who's gonna tell them?

When is the next round of layoffs?
March or later?
Enough with the layoff doomsday news
To everyone freaking out potential layoffs:
1) Ask yourself the question, would they really have another round after laying off so many people?
2) why spread the pain out over a long period? Most firms, just rip the band aid and get it over and done with in one go.
3) most of the fat has been trimmed. What's left is some muscle and bone.
4) our stock is through the roof, aliviating any pressure from Wall St. No need to take out any further costs
5) the only people served by all the layoff talk are disgruntled ex Vz folks or current employees who think we can cut our way to prosperity
Makes you wonder?
Honest question.
Why the sudden urgency around rebranding town halls, one-on-ones, and skip-level meetings… especially when layoffs are happening or rumored?
What’s the point of pushing culture talk and rebranding if people are worried about their jobs? And why are so many of these meetings being scheduled on Thursdays, the same day layoffs usually happen? That timing alone puts people on edge.
I’m genuinely asking—has anyone been through this before and knows what the strategy is? Transparency would go a long way right now.
Unexpected 1:1
It's in 30 minutes. Am I as good as gone? Is this how they're notifying people? Is there any chance it could be something else?
How many people?
Everyone's talking about big numbers. My team hasn't been hit yet, but that doesn't mean it's safe tomorrow. Judging by the rumors and reports, it definitely looks bad. I'm afraid our worst predictions are coming true.
Layoff Rumors Continue
Since November, there have been persistent rumors of a significant layoff, with Boston CG frequently mentioned as being involved. Nothing ultimately came of it following our November earnings call, but the rumors resurfaced later, with speculation that decisions were finalized by mid-January. This week, our CEO shared a company-wide video stressing that the next 90 days are critical, which would carry us through the end of tax season. Beyond that, the outlook is unclear.
Morale among the ICs and M2/3s I’ve spoken with is low, even outside of MTV HQ. There’s constant pressure to move faster while priorities shift rapidly, and leadership has increasingly been framing Human Intelligence HI as if it were a newly discovered idea and the act of thinking.
New layoff figures this week!
I just heard over the wall of a manager who knows another manager that someone in HR who knows a director who said that 90% will be laid off on Wednesday. All sites. No WARN notices though because they do it in a way that they don't have to.
No rumors about layoffs
Or at least, I haven't heard a thing. Somehow, that makes me even more worried. They've trained us well.
What's with all the severance scare?
Why are there so many rumors about reduced packages, or people not getting one at all? I haven't heard anything concrete. Is this just conjecture, or is there a real change coming?
So, are we basically looking at rolling layoffs through April?
We'll go crazy before this is over. Normally, I wouldn't care as much, I can't stand my job, but have you seen the unemployment numbers and job market lately?
Do the layoffs definitely start tomorrow?
What else is there to say but good luck to all of us.

What’s the latest on surplus for level 3’s? Haven’t heard much lately
