I am lucky that I still have job in Dell. But I want to move.
I am waiting for job market to become better for a couple years.
Unfortunately, 2025 could be the best year of job market in the next 10 y.
AI is going to take all of our jobs eventually.

I am thankful that I still have a job
That’s it. Not that I get to work at an exciting company that helps develop and reward me for doing great work. It’s really to a point where I’m just thankful I haven’t been downsized.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Not much to be thankful for, but at least we still have a job, right?
How safe is it to relocate for Nike?
I was offered a promotion but I'd have to move for it. It's not a bad offer, but with all the cuts, I'm a bit hesitant to pack up and move my entire family and then potentially end up jobless. Is this something that actually happens or am I safe at least for a while if I accept?
Having Intel on your resume is still considered a bonus
Use it before you lose it.
Splash Damage layoffs
Known for its work on Gears Tactics, DOOM 3, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Splash Damage will be making significant job cuts. Staff have been informed and have said so about this on LinkedIn.

Three years without a raise
I'm done with DXC.
Short term thinking is sinking Dell
Everything here is built around the next report instead of building something stable. People keep saying we matter, but the decisions never match the words. Offshoring set off a slow slide that everyone felt right away. The culture has not recovered since, and it shows in every corner of the place.
Thankful
Today I am thankful to work at a company that has and continues to help me provide for my family in a lucrative and very stable fashion for 25+ years.

Has anyone ever been rehired after a PIL?
McKinsey Cuts About 200 Tech Jobs, Shifts More Roles To AI
The company isn’t ruling out additional reductions across different functions over the next two years as it ramps up usage of the technology, according to people familiar with the matter. McKinsey is also closely assessing what tasks can be carried out by AI, the people said, declining to be identified as the details are private.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you still have a job by end of year
Are sales roles cooked?
I’ve been in tech field sales for 7 years now, is this a dead end career path at this point? I assume I’ll eventually get reduced as well, and it’ll be even bleaker for me to find a new job when it does. What should I be looking to transition into if it is? Sales is all I have experience with.
It is hard to feel secure these days
With all the recent changes, it is difficult to feel settled in your job. Especially when you see roles shifting around or disappearing entirely all the time. It makes planning for the future feel almost impossible. I just wish there was more stability for everyone.
Warn Notices? Where for art thou?
Have not seen any published yet, but I know there have been layoffs.
This company is a sweatshop
But I’ll put up with whatever nonsense they throw at us, because there’s basically nothing out there right now. It feels like we’re completely cornered, and I hate that feeling.
I’m having a hard time dealing with all this
I’ve tried to accept that I could be cut any day and just live with it. I’ve been focusing on job searching, but that’s only made me feel more depressed. I can’t shake the spikes of anxiety, and I’m barely sleeping. This has dragged on for so long that it’s taken a real toll on my ability to cope. A couple of days ago I realized I can’t even switch off for an hour. Nothing holds my attention long enough for my brain to actually rest. How are you all dealing with this?
Feeling a bit better made it thru My director told me I should be good next round of layoffs
So we have all been stressed but made it thru .I am feeling better since my director told me I should be ok the next round of rifs after the frontier merger. He said we all may have to pick up the extra slack but it will show we are value.
Remote Layoffs once new RTO is implemented
Currently, quite a few fully remote workers are still with the company. Once they got rid of promotions/job growth for remote employees, it seemed like layoffs are imminent. What are the chances that remote employees are let go once RTO 2.0 starts in Feb?
Feeling boxed in by where I live
I know plenty of folks here who stay at CVS because there is nothing close by worth jumping to. I get it, the area makes it tricky to move on. I feel that pressure too, like I am glued in place. It wears on you when the job is rough but the options are thin.
Fake job postings
What’s with job postings they put up real quick then take down a day later and say the job is canceled?
Trying to sneak an H1-B past everyone?
Unions
People who are now working for unions, is there any info on how to get one started where there is non-union only? I see the only people that are gone are basically non-union. Is it good? Why would we not start one?
How Amazon’s and other recent layoffs could affect your wallet
Just in time for the holidays, many U.S. employers have doled out pink slips. This recent move left thousands of Americans jobless and could have a ripple effect on the economy as a whole.

This company has seen its best days
From here, it’s only going down. Everything is changing so fast, and we’re nowhere near keeping up. If you’re smart, you’re already hunting for a new opportunity, because waiting around is just going to mean going down with this ship. At this point, it’s not a question of if it sinks, but when, and being proactive is the only way to have any control over what happens next.
Hyster-Yale laying off 575 employees
Hyster-Yale is laying off part of its workforce, and the job cuts will impact eastern North Carolina.
The company will reduce its global workforce by 575 employees, including layoffs of more than 100 employees in Pitt County.

Glad to be out of AT&T
Getting cut ended up being the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. The real misery is with the folks who stayed behind in that sinking ship. I walked away with a clean break and a clear head. The market is rough, but even a slow search feels better than staying there.
We’ll go nuts before it’s all done
It’s not like this is the best company to work for, and most of us don’t even like our jobs. I’d love to switch myself. But honestly, I’m terrified of what’s out there right now. Jobs feel scarce, the cost of living keeps climbing, and so many of us are drowning in debt. I hate feeling shackled to a job I don’t even enjoy, and I hate even more having to stress about losing a job I don’t like to begin with.
Any rumors about next week?
I’m getting used to the idea that layoffs could happen any day at this point. Still, it’s always better to have a little heads-up if anyone’s heard anything.
Don’t relax if you were skipped on Thursday
If you made it through this round, don’t just sit back. Do everything you can to line up other options. The job market is brutal right now, and the earlier you start, the better your chances. I’ve been searching for a while and actually got two offers. I turned them down because they weren’t great, but the point is, opportunities do show up. Taking things into your own hands can at least give you a little peace of mind.
Severance impact on unemployment
Really hoping someone can help, I have asked HR, surplus line and my supervisor and no one knows answer, will getting severance impact unemployment, I was surplused 11/6 and am struggling to get job so need unemployment to help, I thought I read in here once a post that this lump sum payment should not impact unemployment but I cannot find that or the reason why it should not, appreciate any input from anyone who has been in this situation
Job loss insurance
Hi all! How are you protecting yourself to get some money coming in case of job loss? Did you purchase any private job loss insurance? I am not sure how much government pays for claiming unemployment
Anyone else here that planned on buying a house/car/big purchase but put it on hold due to the insecurity of working here?
🙋♂️. Saved for 4 years on a down payment trying to buy a house so I can start a family. Due to all the layoffs, that has been put on hold indefinitely for as long as I work here.
Can't wait to get out of here but the job market is absolutely trash.
How much time I got left?
I started at Verizon when I was 21. I’m 36 now 15 years in and I’ve never felt more afraid of losing my job than I do right now. I’m a top performer, but none of it seems to matter anymore. This new CEO is coming for everyone, and morale is trash. At this point I don’t even know if I should keep grinding or just stop trying, because this company clearly has zero loyalty. If my hard work means nothing, why should I put in any effort at all? Anyone else feeling the same?
It’s far from over
For those of you who did not get laid off on Thursday, do not feel like you are safe. There is more yet to come. February/March I heard is the next wave. This layoff affected thousands at ALL levels, all the way down to the frontline. Verizon has over 6000 stores and what’s left of our corporate locations? 1200 or so after Thursday? If you’re thinking “Phew, at least I’m safe,” THINK AGAIN. Don’t get comfortable or naive to the fact that you very well could be next, no matter your performance.
Avancez
Avancez is laying off staff as GM scales back production at its Factory Zero EV plant.
The job cuts show how shifts in EV production affect suppliers.
This aint stopping and will continue across the industry.
Rising layoffs in MD and US linked to rise of AI
- Maryland layoffs rise nearly 30%, reflecting nationwide job cut trends.
- In a report, AI was the second most cited reason for job cuts in October.
- Federal DOGE cuts accounted for over 300,000 job losses earlier this year.
- Experts say AI will replace some roles but create new types of jobs.

Let the chaos and grind ensue
It’s only going to get worse until the next round hits.
I really hope better jobs find the people we lost yesterday, and soon. As far as the leftovers are concerned - none of us should stop looking for other options. Something will eventually work out.
Worried about losing my job.
I got moved to multi contact and everyone I know has been hit badly with FCR. I know at least 10 plus people that are in the same situation as me. I am doing everything within my power to meet the minimum but its impossible with all the WIMS/RAP holds and a million other Wayfair issues. I know they will put me on a PIP come January and I am so worried about losing my job, I am the breadwinner in my household. It has me so stressed right now, I cant sleep.
What do I do?
So my dept was job completed/lay off while I was on vacation. I RTO to my office which I’m by myself and remote from everyone else. My boss and 2 other remote coworkers who I only conversed with over email were let go. I never got notified and nothing in company mail. I came back from work and worked like normal and learned over the next several days what happened. I didn’t reach out. All my logins work, I get automatic generated tickets to review then send off. Everything is still working and I can continue and have been continued to do my duties. I’ve done this already for the past several weeks and even got paid.
Should I reach out my 3rd line or just lay low and keep working? In webphone I am also NOW listed under my 3rd line when before I was under my manager and my coworkers.
