Ford is all talk and no action. Those engineers that have been working from home in Michigan are still working from home. I don't see them at the office or the plants that I am working everyday. Ford should track their badge, when they swipe in and when they swipe out. Ford needs to terminate those that are no in compliance with the company policy. Follow the good example from Elon Musk, it works. Everyone are back to the office 5 days per week at Tesla.

It’s like a Twilight Zone episode
I came to the office at 228 a little late, this morning. It was about 9:30. I parked in my usual area - which wasn’t difficult since the lot was about 1/4 the number of cars as Mon through Wed.
I walked through quiet dim passage areas, going by conference rooms of various capacity, all boasting of being free all day. Then past the large collaboration area that only seems to have people collaborating for bagels every other Tuesday and occasional pizza.
So, “where is everybody? What happened to the mandatory RTO five days a week.
Just saw internal role that says it includes Maryland and Virginia
Req that was posted yesterday says “for all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington DC”. You will be required 4 days in office.
The coffee in the office su-ks
My most minor gripe that would make me 0.5% happier about being in the office 5x days a week is better coffee. Also, why are we nickel and diming employees for drip coffee from the cafe..
Does Cloud PC impact 8 Hours in office tracking
For in-office tracking, does it make a difference if a person uses Cloud PC vs primary laptop?
Co Location is happening
This past week I know 2 people from different groups who were told they need to move to the same office as their manager for co-location. Thought it was random but now confirmed that this is the next big thing.
Not sure what happens if your manager is on the other side of the country but guessing some major changes are coming like re-orgs ??!!
People Took Advantage
So many of you are complaining but you’re the reason why the higher ups have to babysit us. I can’t tell you how many people I witnessed who would come in at 8 or 9 and leave by 11-12. I’m sure there were many others who even stayed less than that. You took advantage and now we all have to pay the price. If you don’t want to work then quit. If you find another gig, chances are you’ll have to RTO there as well. It’s industry wide. This company has always been slow trimming the fat and boy do we have more than what around Derek Flowers waist
Failing to address the problems that came with RTO
AT&T made some half a55ed promises to smooth out the RTO experience. I've not seen changes of any substance. Tell us where your office is located and list a few specific things that must be addressed to make that work location somewhat tolerable.
Will it count to use our personal device in office?
I know they are tracking work computers in the office. What about personal devices? Can I take a call in the office when I’m in the bathroom? Will this count as activity? Will my score go up or down if I flush? Can they track how many minutes I’m in there via my IP?
RTO is SOOOO Successful
the RTO is so successful that they have already had to resort to bribery.
This week there are raffles for iPad, iPods, Grills/Air Fryers etc, what an absolute cluster
Terminations for not enough badge swipes?
Curious if people have been termed for not being in the office frequently enough/ getting 3 badge swipes per week.
ADP doesn’t seem to enforce policies like attendance, punctuality, sick time day before or after holiday so is the # of days in office enforced?
Bridget update on 8hrs in office
It sounds like 8 hours no matter where you are. In effect quashing the new policy
Optics Over Outcomes
Genuine question - Does anyone even find themselves productive in the office? Not here to rant - actually just genuinely curious. My in office days are filled with trying to tune out an outrageous amount of noise and side chatter about sports, etc. (people playing mini golf in the aisles, solving puzzles). How is that collaborative when it comes to a work environment? I have to struggle to tune out the insane amount of noise and random people coming up to my desk to talk in order to actually get my job done properly. I get ten times the amount of work done at home. So frustrating.
Only told a full day in office
How many hours is that exactly? 6,7,8,8.5? Are they trying to keep this vague on purpose?
Anyone not get the 8 hour announcement?
So far my manager has not set an 8 hour requirement . I am in the office 6 hours but who knows when that will change….
RTO
Day 1 of 5 tomorrow. 8 hrs per day, 40 hrs per week. M-F. Don't FORGET ABOUT IT! See you in the office, slackers.
How does the rolling days in office work?
Like if I’m going to be out for two weeks do those extra days work for the week right before? How does it work for when it’s the end of the month? I don’t see this published anywhere
8 hours in office
Effective immediately? What a sh-t show.
Tracking our mouse movements or clicks.
I assume Q1 is the announcement of 4 days a week or back to 5.
I guess this is one way of saying, I’m only doing my 8 hours and shutting down.. see ya again at 7am.
Is RTO ACTUALLY being tracked, still? Or have they given up on that
I've been on a medical exemption for the last 4 months - a legit one - and the last 1x1 I had RTO was never even brought up. I was asked how I was doing but that was it. I report to a director so, a step up from a sr. manager and is one who would have more insight into all of that - I think anyways...
I'm almost wondering if this was a sneaky scare tactic Dell/JC made. Enforce a mandatory 5 days/week RTO that gets tracked and enforce it for a quarter; then back off and/or totally stop tracking/caring but don't tell anybody.
Think about it... If you/managers/directors don't know if they are still tracking it, people will continue to go in, right? The moment people find out that they AREN'T tracking it anymore... Nobody will go in.
I suppose the only test would be to NOT go in and see if your manager/director says anything about it... But I have a sneaky suspicioun that they aren't really tracking that anymore. If they are, it's likely just wanting a few days/week.
IOE
Got a message from my manager saying full office hours are expected if you are in office :(
Hoteling?
Chevron has become such a benchmarking company and focused on following others that it seems to have forgotten how to think for itself. Now we’re adopting this outdated ‘hoteling’ concept, where desks are unassigned and there’s less workspace than people. How dehumanizing is that? We’re required to be in the office at least four days a week, yet our assigned offices and cubes are taken away. This leftover strategy from the hybrid work era makes no sense. Wake up, Chevron…
Hi ho, hi ho, back to work they go!
Hey, hey, how was the first week back.
Good to see people at gas stations, writing checks for daycare, and actually getting showered and dressed by 7!
Kind of a wake up call! I think it is the best thing to happen all year!
If you don't like it, turn quit. Drinking coffee doesn't make you an important cog in the company!
Swipe out badge readers in Lake Mary office confirmed
In case you all needed another reason to hate your jobs, here’s a fun treat for those who are going into the new Lake Mary, FL office that opens next week. HR has confirmed swipe out badge readers have been installed, and advised “Elevance expects all associates to remain on-site for the duration of the workday.”
Corp risk
Have to start going into office 4x a week min 6 hours a day starting 1/1/26. Talk about id--tic.
Agency not subject to RTO rules
As an agency worker I'm fortunate to not have to return to the office. I feel for the full time employees but hey its a perk of being agency.
