Question in the title. I've got a three-hour volunteering event lined up, will be four hours counting the drive to the site. Unclear if this will be counted as an in-office day or if I need to go in another day to account for it.

@f2 wrong. What is doesn't do is affect your average.. and average of 7 hrs a day, 21 hrs a week. The pto half day knocks it down to 2 days and 14 hrs. Not 13 hrs over the 2 days to get to 21..
@c8 this is incorrect, 4 hrs ptonor 4 hrs volunteer counts as a full day in office. It is right on teamworks
It counts as a day in the office but only 4 working hours in office.
In Workday there is a video for managers regarding in office expectations (accessible to anyone, I found it in a search and I am not a manager).
In there is explicitly states that a half day is not a get out of jail free card for the hour rule, just the in-office rule.
Sadly, you will have to go in a 4th day for 4 hours. It's f'ing ridiculous.
This company truly wants us all to quit.
any time off of 4 hours or more counts as in office day and satisfies the 8 hours given an in office day is defined as 8 hours.
It's mixed. Remember , there are 2 elements to consider now+ days in the office and hours spent per day.
4 hours of volunteer time counts as a day in the office, but it does NOT count towards your hours spent in the office.
Only 8 hours of PTO or volunteer time counts as 8 hours in the office. Yes, they've made it this difficult.
Driving time won’t count because the event time will be pre-loaded.
It does, any 4-hour time off like PTO, sick day, community service (volunteer), jury duty, bereavement etc. counts as an office day. Just need to make sure you put in the hours in the system.
