Why Our 6‑Month Schedule Is So Confusing

We get a schedule every six months but nobody ever says it’s set in stone, so the bosses can change stuff whenever they feel like it. That makes it really hard to know what to work on or even plan anything outside of work. The “perks” and rules keep getting moved around too, and it just feels like nothing is solid. I think we need a clear time slot that stays the same and a simple way to tell us when things actually change.

Will Monday Jan 26 be exempted from in office reporting?

Most ppl impacted by snow received an email on Monday Jan 26 that in office policy will be relaxed this week..... Only to receive another email that in office policy is back in full effect starting Today Tuesday Jan 27.

So will Monday Jan 26 be exempted from in office reporting? Will we only have to go into office 2 days this week instead of 3?

In office + mandatory screen time = conflicting messaging

From we've been told, you need 6.5 hours of activity a day. For an 8 hour day, that works out to 1 hour for lunch, and two 15 minute breaks. But the conflict between in-office and mandatory digital activity is really striking. How can you collaborate and work with colleagues if your screen time is measured and reported on.

Want to visit a colleagues desk or have a chat in a meeting room? Better bring your laptop and move your mouse around or it comes out of your lunch/break time.

Is Wells hosting an employee event? A town hall perhaps? If you go, your digital activity average will suffer. You will need to trade your lunch for it, and hope it doesn't run long - or just stay late to compensate.

Its fun that they have a gym at my office, but if I want to use it, I need to either skip lunch or stay late that day.

So many people leave their workstations unlocked now when they step away to the bathroom or to get coffee, so it doesn't count against them.

Meanwhile, years long colleagues randomly disappear, one after another, never to be seen again.

Living the Wells Life.

Heard from the same "leader" on the same call, within 10 minutes of each other.

"This team should not exist."

"I appreciate everything you do, every day."

While showing a deck that is clearly a roadmap for getting rid of the entire group, and other comments that made it clear they intend to keep nobody from that group. It's obvious the reason they're bringing so many H1-B into the bank is that they have zero loyalty to anyone other than their paycheck.

This is what got us here in my opinion

Leadership in my organization is useless, indecisive and incapable of making sound decisions. When I asked to provide direction, they complicate things by giving you more work, even when you provide them with everything they asked for, they still don’t do anything. You will come out of the discussions/meetings more confused. This leads to ambiguity and tension between team members who end up confused not knowing what to do, not to mention the time and resources wasted on the endless calls where sometimes all it takes is a strong leader to say “yes” or “no”. They do not care as long as you don’t bother or challenge them. The moment you do, you will be rewarded with more work!

Separation re-employment question

Since HR is basically worthless, anybody know for sure if you can work during the separation period? There's conflicting info in the paperwork I received. I know you couldn't during the SUB pay days, but I thought that changed when it switched to the lump sum. Buried in the middle of an 80 page document there's a comment about paying back a pro-rated amount if re-employed during whatever amount of time you received severance for.
