Wondering if I can simply drop it off at Tech stop.

@OP who cares. You think someone will knock on your door.
@b5 of course, it's possible that this was the boss' last day as well...
A prayer for everyone involved. The riffed and those who remain and have to pick up the work.
I still have mine from 10 years ago and nobody came and got it yet.
I was RIF'd a year ago. They never sent a return kit for my laptop. I emailed HR as I had nobody to go to. I never received a return kit. Threw the laptop in the trash.
@at Thank you. It says a lot about the company. I'd have liked to work another three years but, getting the boot was a real blessing to me. I sold my house. Paid off all my debt. And retired three years sooner.
@ag I’m sorry you were treated that way. Survivors treat laid off employees like we’re trash. It’s terrible after all your years of service!
@af yep still got severance no problem.
I dropped mine in my office on my last day. Started with Bell Atlantic before they were even Verizon. No, good luck, need anything? No handshake. No nothin'. Maybe my boss got riffed as well, I don't know. I dropped it off and walked out the door. I'm still stalking here hoping for info and the last RSU payout. Then I'm done with Verizon for good.
@ad Did you still receive your severance even that you haven’t yet shipped your laptop back? That’s the only thing I care about obviously
Yeah I have yet to send in my laptop, phone, and iPad. Just been lazy taking it to shipping drop off. A few years ago I had a laid off peer in the retail segment who just said “I can’t find it. It was stolen out of my car”. It was obvious they did not send it back out of bitterness and I don’t think they ever heard anything from Verizon regarding it
Heard that someone once mailed their laptop back in pieces. I dont think the company cares about the laptop as long as they get the laptop.
They cut everyone in end. It’s basically honor system. You can’t really do much with it so you really should just turn it in and let it be reassigned
